BUFFALO SABRES TRADE JJ PETERKA TO UTAH MAMMOTH RANT | Sabres get Josh Doan and Michael Kesselring

i’m sorry for being late on this one i’m sorry for being late on this one buffalo Sabres you can’t you just can’t defend it anymore you can’t you actually cannot you actually JJ Burka you were acting like he was almost untradable that you didn’t want to trade him and then you just trade him like this for I mean I just I don’t understand if like if the Sabres just don’t know asset management they should just talk about it right i understand the guy basically publicly asked for a trade i get all that but you’re talking about a guy 23 years old that’s basically a point per game player and knows like you know he can score 30 goals i’m out Nashville guys like I was literally out for work i come back and I hadn’t looked at my phone and my phone was just full of notifications i had my notifications muted that’s why you just can’t a couple days before the draft uh I’m going to be live for the draft of course but let’s just get through it quickly jj Purka going to the Utah Mammoth what a mammoth acquisition here and then I just look at uh what the Buffalo Sabres acquired this is the best way I can describe it the type of players they acquired are perfect fits for the Buffalo Sabres michael Kessler 6’5 right shot defenseman still fairly young he’s going to fit really nicely next to Power or Dallion i have no problem with the acquisitions josh Don 23 years old fits exactly the style of player that the Buffalo Sabres will benefit from in their middle six and I still think Josh Don has a lot of development my problem with this is Buffalo a team that’s trying to take that next step is losing a whole lot of talent here like a whole lot of talent you can’t just and I know I’m saying this ironically after the Leafs are probably gonna lose Mitch Mner but I just I look at this trade and it screams just a lack of sense on value in the market i have a really tough time wrapping my head around the fact that there was there weren’t going to be other teams that would miss out on free agency this this is where my head’s going right if this is before the draft before free agency I have a really hard time thinking that they couldn’t have held off and done one of two things match the offer sheet because if that’s what they were actually worried about just match the offer sheet like if a team is dumb enough to give Purka 10 plus million take take the take the lot of the first round picks and and go for other trades because I’m telling you right now you could have traded two first round picks plus a couple seconds and got Kesler and Dome like I’m saying the equivalent of that so anyways I think this is this is Buffalo Sabres doing it again kevin Adams doing it again i like the fit of the players do not get me wrong but if anyone’s defending this in terms of the scenario on hand and we were talking about the uh the waiting game and seeing what could happen again if you’re worried about the offer sheet there’s a lot of other teams that might be worried about offer sheet here you don’t take the stress of the offer sheet and do this prematurely i think they should have waited it out this one’s even more premature than the Seavo for Mloud one the Mloud one was for a fit right away and for uh like trading a guy that’s very much up in the air seavoi top prospect we all know that but very much up in the air didn’t prove anything we’re talking about now JJ Purka folks who put up almost a point per game close to a point per game last year and is showing that he can get in around that 30 goal mark and probably would keep regressing more and more so give me your thoughts guys i think uh Michael Kessler is going to be a great fit in the top four for the Sabres i’m playing very much devil’s advocate here but also making it very clear I think this is this is a bad move like a bad bad bad move so give me your thoughts in the comments guys hit that subscribe like comment notification bell i’ll see you guys on the next video and the live draft stream and freedom stream hope you guys join the channel cheers

  1. Comment your thoughts.. this is an instant reaction… I do think Sabres get better if they can pull off the Byram for Andersson type of deal.. but this is very rough on the surface for the Sabres. W Utah

  2. Sabres fans like the trade, they claim Peterka doesn’t back check, well, he’s young and Sam Reinhart on Buffalo never backchecked and now on Florida is a Selke player. You don’t give up a top line player for a middle D man and some 3rd liner

  3. Worst GM. Worst owner. Worst nhl organization. As a 36 year sabres fan I can honestly say Pegula NOT firing Adams and rehiring Ruff who is a good regular season coach but his teams ALWAYS choke when the pressure is on… I am done with this team. 36 years and seeing what pegula has done to this team… I just can't do it any more. Sports is supposed to be entertaining. There is nothing entertaining about the buffalo sabres any more. The last couple decent players we have will demad trades within the next twelve months. Guaranteed.

  4. It’s impossible to believe this can happen in a professional sport. Terry Pegula has made me not care about a sport I have loved my whole life. Good news everyone…you can be a braindead incompetent imbecile and still become a billionaire.

  5. ……..and yet Steve Y. continues to wait for the future ………..my DRWs would rather overpay for an average player nearing the end of his career. Good for Buffalo for having the guts to make the move.

  6. I can defend the trade all day long and twice on Sunday. Doan is a high motor high energy acquisition. Great move. Peterka is a one dimensional player who scores for the most part stat sheet goal. So cry all you want dude.

  7. I'm warming up to the trade. The Sabres needed to improve defensively and they did. And they fixed the pending cap problem they had. Now there is enough cap room to sign McCleod, Quinn, Bernard-Docker, R. Johnson, Levi and (maybe) Byram, not mention extending Tuch.

  8. From trade rumor leafs to aquire LW Lawson Crouse at 25% or 50% retained from Utah for F Bobby McMann and F Calle Järnkrok and F prospect Ryan Tverberg if true or not we will see?

  9. Those are good pieces to get for Peterka but Sabres definitely paying 40-50 cents on the dollar from them.

This is like a larger scale Beck Malenstyn for a 2nd rounder ( Cole Hutson ) trade.

Servicable coachable defensive first players with some size for talent with much higher talent ceiling.

  10. sorry you are unfamiliar with doan and kesselking's game. as a mammoth fan, I am extreme depressed for several hours now

  11. Yes you can defend them. You said it yourself. He didn't want to be here, and he doesn't play defense. You don't know what they know and don't know. You're a f**** YouTuber. If you knew more than your complaints, you would work in the NHL yourself. You would be sought after by every team as somebody who you can find talent, defensive skills, work ethic, toughness, grit, and a team first mentality, and you'd be the greatest GM, Director of Hockey Operations, Scott, or Head Coach in the history of the league and instead you're on a damn YouTube channel!! You f**** dingbat. I know he's 23 and a 30 goals scorer but this team doesn't stop the puck from going in their own net. And he did nothing to help in his own Zone. You can't win if you let them score more than you do!! This team has goal scorers, and they are promising players his age in our farm system. We need defense, toughness, size, battlers, enforcers and protectors who will take matters into their own hands when the four blind mice in stripes swallow their whistles and don't call cross-checking, boarding, hooking, holding, slashing, elbowing, and blatant tripping or kneeing penalties, and we need players that will make this team intimidating, strong defensively, and won't spend one and half to two minutes straight in their own zone most of the game, and then we can score 2-3 goals a game and win a whole heckuva lot!!!!!!!

  12. Kesselring 25 yr – 6' 4"-D, 156 games in NHL, 12 G, 41A
    Josh Doan 23yr – 6' 2" – RW /C, – 62 games in NHL, 12 G, 16 A – up and down in minors

  13. A hot 🔥 take is supposed to quick, not whiny, and badmouthing a front office. Just tell us what you think of the trade itself on the merits of the three players, instead of criticizing the staff that decided to move on from a player who didn't respect his job on the team anymore.

  14. Peterka’s got upside but no guarantee he becomes a star — too much variables in how he might develop. Kesselring feels more like a safe bet to be a solid #4, and big, right-shot D who can skate usually carry good value
