Get this through your head…Bouchard is a defensive liability and should not be paid what you are thinking. This is the Oilers kryptonite and why they can’t win a cup. They over pay and give far to many no movement clauses.
Sounds like the Oilers are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Well, at least before the Kane trade (which I assume occurred after this episode was recorded).
At any rate, you either keep your guys and pay 'em, which makes you the Leafs. Or you dump 'em and start over…and you're the Florida Marlins (before the rebranding to "Miami").
