Really you gonna go there, should of happen last year Skinner is back up no more. Bum
Start by getting rid of Dustin Schwartz
I would like to retain Ehlers. Having said that, he has given us 10 great seasons and now deserves to see what the free agent market has to offer. He knows what he has here in Winnipeg, he wants to win. If he can find a better offer I will be happy for him. If he resigns I will be happier.
Where are you getting the money? Connor McDavid and Bouchard take up 30M combined
Not upgrading Skinner in net was a firable offense. They knew what he was after last year and by not upgrading their goaltender they wasted an extremely valuable opportunity
That alone will not fix the Oilers. They need to adjust some of their strategies. They have become very predictable in some situations which makes them vulnerable.
Where is the focus for the Jets ? The long term (5-6-7 years down the road: or win in the next 2 years). That might determine how they spend.
Skinner isn't the problem… But he's a problem. Your goaltender allowing really bad goals is discouraging to the rest of the team. Not sure how they fix that problem with their cap situation, but that's the job.
McJesus blaming coaching when he personally can't even solve Forsling, gimme a break
Absolutely not on Gibson! Old and broken.
Defence, systems and goaltending coach are the biggest issues for the Oilers.
So does Kane go to Winnipeg to join his old buddy
McDavid must go! problem solved! nuff said…
Every team has to look at the Champs [Panthers] and see if they could match up for a 7 game series !!!! It's that SIMPLE
It's not just goaltending, it's all player positions on all lines. Only way to win a Stanley Cup is having all 25 cylinders firing away.
It has to be defensive play around the front of the net??? No goal tender can absorb continuous shots???
Biningron
Play better both phases, and your goalie goes along, not the opposite. Swap Skinner and Bob and the Panthers would win the cup as well. Before the SC series nobody was complaining about Skinner. Oilers can chase a hyped goalie with money, have less to fix the real issue to win the SC, that is to have 4+2 consistent lines. Defensive statistics of the first period of the 6 games are brutal, and if you think to fix that with a different goalie, you are on the wrong path
Skinner was never supposed to be Oilers starter YET. Campbell was but that fell through so Skinner was thrown in before he was ready. Skinner is going to be a great Goalie but its not his time
John Gibson isn’t the oilers answer in net.
The oilers don’t need a new goalie, they need a new goalie coach plain and simple, he’s been here since 2014 and has not done justice to the goalies that have left and done better.
Stay away from Gibson. It’s time to bring the King of Rock and Roll Elvis in from Columbus
Why don’t the Oilers go after Mr 3 Way Carter Hart.
Toews is not a good news story if youre under 25
Put it this way. In 2001 it was Colorado VS New Jersey in the finals. New Jersey fought hard and was up 3-2 in the series by Game 5. Colorado faced elimination just like Edmonton. The difference? Roy played out of his mind and stole game 6 and 7 to bring the Cup to Colorado.
Goaltending, defending, force McDavid to sign for a fair contract or trade him for a package that helps your teams depth – this team has a lot of work to do to ensure they don't start taking big steps back. Oh and tell Bouchard to piss up a rope if he wants $10M+
