Bruins MASTER PLAN Revealed… MULTIPLE Bruins Updates | Boston Bruins News
don Sweeny’s dropped multiple updates moments ago regarding the entire Boston Bruins off seasonason an unexpected press conference everything going from Dean Lernau has finally spoken the truth on his decisions morgan Geeki where the contract extension stands with him as well as where the contract negotiations are going with Henrioki Haru plus way more here from this press conference ladies and gentlemen I’m going be breaking it all down here for you in this video all in one nice clean spot uh and as I mentioned a very unexpected press conference here about 30 minutes ago that we’re going to cover everything from but before we do get into that be sure to hit the sub button if you haven’t already ladies and gentlemen we just passed 7K subscribers you know the ultimate goal is 10,000 but it’s a step to go there be sure to hit the sub button if you haven’t already because we got a lot of news coming as I mentioned the draft two days time free agency uh July 1st everything is going to be right here as it happens but let’s get straight into this video waste no more time and get into our first quote here from Don Sweeney he had to say this first of all starting off and you know these may not be in order but everything that he said here in this press conference is right here i’m currently in discussions with Henry seeing if we can bring him back we have a need on the right side there’s no question about that so starting off this one here with immediately going over the need that I would say is probably one of the biggest here for the offseason is the right-hand defenseman you know we need that one more spot henry Okiari was brought in to kind of you know replace Brandon Carlo after he was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs last year and had a great fit Henrikari with Nikita Zidorov now where we currently stand on that side of things is definitely a blaring hole with Ian Mitchell currently being as uh you know listed as a number three right-hand defenseman on the depth chart here and that’s one move that we’ve spoken about a little bit here on the video this morning possibilities of Dante Fra Ryan Lingren but Henry Oiario is one that I think you would get first of all cheaper than most second of all we saw him play with the Bruins it works out well and especially with Marco Sturm how young Yokiario is it makes a lot of sense but the contract negotiations are something that we’ve gone to touch on just a little bit here but we do now have the updated projections from AFP analytics which is currently sitting at 3 years by 3.6 million a very very feasible contract in my mind and something that would really help the Bruins get to fill in that defense really lock it down for a few years while having the ability to remain with the amount of cap they want to have to allocate some forwards some big free agency pulls and really put the priorities there on that side of the puck which is something that I think the Bruins were going to try and focus on but first of all I think they needed to lock down at least a right-handed defenseman that is going to be very capable of playing with anybody on this list i think Yokihario is that player now as I mentioned looking at the defense you see I in Mitchell there behind Andrew Peak not really what we want to see but I think that Henry Oiario is someone that I want to see personally back for sure and I know a lot of you guys as well mentioned that Henrikaru is someone that would you’d love to see back have him there because of how good he played with Nikita Zdora so I want to know what you think about that here in the comments below but we still have so much we cannot even take many time to kind of ponder these questions second thing here from Don Sweeney said there’s been constant communication on Morgan Geeky side of things are we on the doorstep i don’t think so but that can change within one phone call now this is another big one we’ve spoken about a little bit here haven’t in a little while but the fact that they said they were going to be all in on Morgan Geeki try and get him extended he was on the TSN big trade board i believe he was number 18 him and Zaka were in one combined one zaka I kind of understood but Morgan Geeki I really couldn’t see it unless he was big a part of some big deal that would have gone down but it doesn’t seem like that’s going to be the case morgan Geeki is one player that we know is going to be worth quite a bit of money and four years by 6.5 million although is not a really bad contract for the year he had last year frankly he’s actually quite good with the amount of points he put up and going over from his year last year but when we do go take a look at this year 57 uh points in 77 games playing firstline minutes 1655 time on ice because he went up and down at the beginning of the season but really caught wind uh December on henrio uh sorry Morgan Geeki in this case is worth this money but when it comes down to looking at his few years before that that’s where questions are starting to get raised because we can take a look at Morgan Geeki you know the year before 76 games played one less than this one 39 points wasn’t a terrible pace definitely was not first line minutes but middle six was pretty fine there this year definitely caught that much better 33 goals 24 assists and playing with David Poshnock and whoever it may be at the time Pablo Zaka or Elias Lindm also really helped out well but I think that when you see this this is a contract that certainly would bank on getting this production once again next year and will he get 33 goals again next year it’s very tough to say i think he’s very capable of doing that but I don’t know if it’s something that will guarantee to be happening so I think that this contract going back to it is something that’s pretty in the middle of the road but not kind of favoring anything too much and also taking into consideration that over these four years the cap is going to be going up significantly from what we’ve been hearing from Gary Bman so putting that contract into comparison it makes a lot of sense that this would be one that they’d be willing to give a guy like Morgan Geeki especially if he can keep that production up and get more going over these seasons and you know how many points we have put up last season if he had started off hot one would only really know but we got to jump into our final quote here from um from Don Sweeney before we get into some other ones that we have uh in some tweets from a few other people but going into it he had this to say on Twitter from an uh Andrew Fatu uh Fatuio i I can never pronounce his name i think that’s right i do apologize if it’s not but Sweeney says the Bruins are still exploring their options as they uh what what to do with the seventh overall pick and this is something that we’ve been speculating a lot here on the channel it’s very very tough to be able to kind of justify where we stand with this where we go from here because we’ve been kind of putting out every possible option james Haggin has dropped down to seventh on multiple reports wonder part at seven you know two players that realistically shouldn’t get out of the top five are projected in the Bruins realm of things but when we do look at it’s been Brady Martin Roger McQueen those are the guys that we’re seeing quite a bit more here on this side of um you know the Bruins draft ideas and I’d be really okay with many of these players but the fact that Don Sween’s come out and said that that they’re looking at every option whether it may be who the pick right there also kind of indicates that they may not be necessarily looking for a trade unless something big comes down cuz I’ll pull it up once again over on here on the the graphic he said what they’ll do with the seven overall pick exploring all options and they’re not necessarily saying like they’re going to take a player for sure if the trade is involved if there is a trade that will help this Bruins team out without needing to go and draft a player they will do that now we’ve been able to see the Islander side of things whether or not something will go down there i feel like that’s still very up in the air unless Hagen’s at 7 we need something very big in return and we’re going to discuss that further in the live stream tonight be sure to check that out 6:30 Eastern but you know I feel like there’s a lot of options the Bruins can go through but it really does seem like at 7:00 they will be making the pick rather than a trade but it’s still something to entertain something to keep in mind as we do progress here um through this entire set of upcoming days and uh uh to the draft because you know we need to get a very good idea of what we want to do we got to make sure that we don’t mess it up and I think Don Sweeny’s kind of not reminiscing on the past but putting it in the back of his mind that we can’t go through 2015 again so let me know what you think about that move as well do you want to see it what do you think about Don uh Don Sweeny’s quote when it comes down to it does it seem like they’re going to be moving it’s a bit interesting kind of looking at it and kind of taking a few minutes to think about it but we got to move on to Ty Anderson here sweeney agrees that Dean Lutrono probably shouldn’t have gone to BC last season now this is a very interesting one because a lot of people were very interested in Dean Lutrono when we drafted him last year 67 guy going from 127 point to in St andrews then going to Sou Falls for two games going to Boston College a year early and you know really being a bad bad bad season there was not his fault at all i think it was um you know just not the greatest decision to go a bit early i think that we’ve all kind of admitted this we haven’t heard anything from Don Sweeney about it until today i feel like putting this into perspective now is really uh you know kind of taking the acknowledgement as well from Maros Sturm’s hiring that a guy like this is going to take very long to develop he’s going to be a guy that was similar to Eastston Cowan when the Leafs drafted him that was not ready was supposed to go somewhere in the second maybe even third round dean Loreno was a bit you know projected higher but the same idea you picked your guy you wanted him he’s going to take some developing but if everything plays out you know it’s a it’s a one it’s a draft pick that you want to have see succeed and I think that we’re going to see uh some big moves here in this upcoming season for Dean Leno with Boston College hopefully he bounces back i mean you never know what’s going to happen on that front of things but I think Marco Sturm is a guy that once he leaves Boston College will be able to help him on that development side of things but one final look here that from uh Mick Collagio on X two takeaways from the NHL Bruins GM Don Sweeney in this press conference today trying to bring back Henri Okiario and he’ll take the best player available at number seven so you know I feel like that number two you could also even kind of add that he may even trade the pick i think once again it’s a bit of a very tough opinion to justify doing but if the thing is right if trades are right you do it but Henrikaru I think is the second biggest thing here you want him back to fill out that defense if you cannot get a very solid guy maybe like a no adoption in that trade for the number seven overall pick so a lot of news here for this little tiny press conference that the Bruins had here today at Warrior Arena so let me know what you think about all of this here today and as I mentioned we got a live stream later tonight at 6:30 Eastern time going over a lot of this a lot of what the Bruins have been going over in the past free agency the draft for a little bit before the NBA draft tonight so be sure to tune in for that if you haven’t gotten uh the notification or whatnot already but it’s all I got in this video if you did enjoy give it a like hit the sub button as well but I’m signing out thank you for watching hope you have a great day
