Hot take but- I think we as fans should be okay with possibly missing the playoff next season, especially if it means being patient and really stacking the future vs maybe sacrificing some good future for short term gain.
We need different titles everyday or every other day something big is brewing

Engstrom is going to be pushing Wifi for his spot. I hope they move Wifi to the 4th line wing and use his 100+ mph slap shot as a one timer and give us 10-15 goals a year. Unless they move Matheson, he will be in Laval on a call up basis this next season. But eventually I can see a Hutson, Ghule, Engstrom as our future left side. Now to perfect the right side! Keep the faith and Go Habs Go!
There are No UFA's that can help us in my view….let's stay the coarse and work on a trade package to help DEMIDOV grow and develop …the second line is the key improvement for this season .!! ARt. Shot D-man is also a must add .!! Hope Dach can bounce back and establish his game !! The trade route is the way to move forward.!!

They need a proven offensive 2nd line center this offseason. Without one your setting up Demidov and Laine to fail. Dach and Newhook are terrible and neither can play center in the top 6. Plus they have no one in the prospects who is good enough now to play there. 2nd line center is a must. Not only are you setting up Demidov and Laine to fail if you don't get one but you also leave your captain hanging out to dry by not getting him any support up the middle

Not including playing on their wrong side, the Habs have: Hutson, Guhle, Matheson, Xhekaj, Struble and Engstrom, that's 6.. something has to give, Matheson by the trade deadline makes the most sense, unless he gets an extension, and Struble or Xhekaj get moved.. someone is going

Getting a 2nd line center is not the end all be all. We have plenty of options within. We dont have to over pay on a UFA or a trade.

Most teams would take Beck or Kapanen who are closer to NHL ready. I don't see them trading Hage unless the other team is overpaying. The kid is destined to be with the Habs when they bring the Cup home. Want too see him tell his dad he did it.

I can't wait to wake up to a Crosby trade, id be willing to give either a combo of mailloux +1st from mtl and calgary or a Mailloux, roy + 1st from calgary +2nd 2025 + 3rd 2026, either that or run dach for the first half of the season and let him see what he can do when everyone is healthy
