Quinn Hughes defended Vancouver Canucks teammate Elias Pettersson in his postgame media last night following the Canucks’ big 4-3 shootout win over the Calgary Flames. I thought it was a really smart move by the captain and a great display of leadership.
Calgary Flames forward Connor Zary was suspended two games for his elbow to defenceman Elias Pettersson’s head.

What did you think about Quinn Hughes' comments about Petey after the game? And how do you feel about the two game suspension to Connor Zary?
WHAT A DIRTY HIT AND PLAY BY ZARY, PETTERSSON LAID A CLEAN HIT ON A DIRTY HITTER IN KADRI, AND ZARY STILL HIT HIM AND JUMPED ON TOP OF HIM! WTF. And now EP2 is injured. I HATE ZARY

I think the fact that Zary purposefully hit D-Petey in the head meant he HAD to be suspended. 2 games is fine, but honestly when someone hits another person in the head with malicious intent and injures that person, they need to be out as long as the injured player is out. That would be fair. If it's not ill intent, then that should be determined by player safety based on their rules and regs.
2 games is NOT enough, for that type of hit.
Quinn is a great leader. Love how he spoke about Petey and Petey said in his interview "That's my captain". Very sweet.

We make the playoffs Quin might get the Norris we don't he really has no chance. Two is the going rate for suspensions and agree with a lot of fans Zary is getting off light. Intent to injure should always get you more games. In some ways I look at Quins comments like PR at the Dentist or really any business. You put on a smiley face and say nice things because it is expected. And part of your job. I could see Petey putting a lot of pressure on himself to perform. The more you fail the bigger the pressure. Read your press clippings and see so much negativity he brought upon himself. You either have a full mental breakdown or you get over it. I personally do not think he will ever play up to his paycheck. At best a point per game guy. I have no clue as to whether we make the playoffs or not. Will be really disappointed if we do not. But not surprised either. Kind of like Schrodingers cat. We don't really know if we are dead or alive as of yet. As a fan I hope we do . And whether we get blown out in four does not matter as long as we get in. Go Canucks.
I didn't see the game, but from what you said I think he should have got 5. I also think suspensions should be handed out like "x games or however long the other player is out whichever is more"
There not just words. It’s a statement for all the fan and media BS. If it was the other way around. Everyone would be all over it. Before Miller was traded Petey was starting to play better then he was injured pulled in a game where he had 2 goals
