This sucks
I like the trade for both teams tbh. Zegras is a good top 6 playmaker when healthy, but hes injury prone, pretty slow and not a physical presence. Philly takes a high upside swing to get a potentially 60 pt second line guy, but hes not someone u can play lower in the lineup if it doesnt pan out. Anaheim has 2 top centers in mctavish and carlsson, now they shore up the 3-4C with solid pk, defense and speed plus they get 2 picks (philly has so many picks they could afford to give those up and poehling is expendable for then too)
Zegras is making over 7M so the ducks get that cap space. Now if they use another 7M they can go after Marner. Marner 102 points, Zegras 32 points last season. So overall they gain a player with 70 more points for 7M more against their original cap.
Z is an RFA after this season, Philly will get a 1st and a 3rd if he doesn’t resign(and another team signs him) or we get him to resign on a good deal. Win win

Not Zegras' biggest fan but this is a very good buy low high upside move by Flyers who had 7 top 50 picks. Just moved one of their later extra 2nds, a 4th and depth player. No brainer move. Still have 6 top 50 picks. Hopefully he can help the PP.

I wouldn’t say a steal zegras is VERY soft on the ice and getting hurt, he has not looked great the last 2 years typical sucky baby trying to rely on skill
I hate this trade. Zegras is a central part of the Ducks. It really makes me dislike Verbeek. Zegras in Philly, it doesnt feel right at all. Verbeek doesn't understand California at all. Just shaking my head in disgust.
That lineup will get interesting if the Flyers sign Shabanov and if Luchanko makes the team
