Re: best top-four in NHL. There wouldn't be enough PP1 time to be had and the Hawks would be susceptible to offer sheets vs allocating a huge amount of cap to defense. As it is—there still won't be enough PP time to allocate to Rinzel, Arty and Kevin. It's going to be a problem when it comes time for these guys to get paid and their arbitration #'s are low bec of said lack of PP time (therefore making them susceptible to going the offer sheet route, etc). If they all hit and are dependent on PP time to maximize earnings, one of them will eventually be traded.
Burakovsky averged 14 min's probably playing on a so so line. If you stick him with Bedard and play him 18 min's , 60 pts might not be too crazy .
MARNER 48 MILLION FOR 3 YEARS
IMO – Bura has been fighting injuries or coming back from injuries during his time in Seattle. The guy is only 30 YO, and there is no impact of his cap hit for the Hawks. Cheap, short term upgrade on the roster for "just a guy" without having to make a longer commitment to a UFA, and if he does bounce back as a 2 time Cup winner those guys typically get traded for a premium at the TDL In either case – we got Veleno by foisting Mrazek of the Dead Things, so he's essentially a "free asset". Hopefully better luck with the health and a fresh start enables him to bounce back.
I would not trade Dickerson until the deadline. If he stays healthy and has a good year you could get good value for him.
