Size Doesn’t Matter In Jiu Jitsu

In Jiu Jitsu smaller guys can actually fight off inexperienced larger guys, but in mma the smaller guys don’t stand a single chance if they’re competing against a big guy.

  1. This is the thing people fail to understand and they talk sht without having ever left their mother’s basement.

BJJ is the only marital art where a trained woman can beat an untrained man in probably almost all situations. When it comes to other martial arts, physical stench is a big factor

  2. No, boxing. Floyd mayweather vs Logan Paul. What if Floyd faced other big people. What if he faced the strongest man in the world.
I think he may win that.
If it was mma tho no

  3. ‘Can’ It’s still much harder for a smaller guy to win

Remember that as a small guy you have to put every bit of extra energy and effort into it to beat someone bigger than you

My source: I am 58kg 5’11 and roll in bjj against guys that are sometimes 100 kg

Boxing and kicking are have less disadvantages as a smaller guy particularly boxing

But do it all and 200% effort and energy into persistence, relentlessness and learning

  4. Strenght helps in bjj also. Technique can overcome size/power in striking too or bob sapp would be the best. Kaioklai knocked out mighty moe, way stronger guy. There are similar cases.

  5. That’s why you have a gun or a knife. I’m not dealing with a big dude with raw strength. I’m 5’6 145lbs. No amount of training is going to prepare me for that. It’s like trying to fight a lion bare handed. I just need a gun and the guts to pull a trigger 😂

  6. Yeah because there’s NO striking, elbows, knees or foot stomps. Thats why no other reason.

  7. I disagree. Size and strength are advantages. Though, sometimes it's harder to isolate an arm or leg on a smaller person

  8. Size and strength does matter in jiu jitsu. If a guy is big enough and sting enough he'll just smash your head into the ground. If his neck is so thick you can't out your arms around his neck and his grip so strong enough to break a grown man's wrist by just squeezing it then your jujitsu means nothing. Case in point Mariuz Pudzianowski folded Rilles Gracie with one punch

  9. In the clinch in Muay Thai, size doesn't matter either.
In judo, it doesn't matter much.
BJJ may be the most extreme example, but it's certainly not the only one.

  10. I'm american half the people here carry pewpews or knives no martial art makes me kryptonian😂 stay safe america
