Saving Private Ryan Opening Scene

Saving Private Ryan was super close my dad’s dad said he had to step out of the theater when he went to go see that W because he could smell diesel he remembered it it was that strong of a memory for him that opening scene when they were on the beach it’s it’s it’s tough [ __ ] nuts man the idea that that was the only way that they could handle that situation that they had to do it that way and imagine being one of those guys and has to get off those boats that was their that was their good better best scenario yeah this is this is how this has to happen

  1. Much respect for those vets. My B-Day is June 6th. I consider myself an old soul with anemoia but these vets….woof. "When at the Pearly Gates to St Peter he will tell, one more soldier reporting for duty. I've served my time in hell."

  2. Historical speaking Omaha beach was the worst case scenario, unlike the other beach none of the armor and special warfare vehicles where able to make it ashore due to the landing on Omaha; additionally the pre landing bombing and artillery on Omaha was a lot less effective then initially anticipated, leaving most defensive structures on Omaha intact. A final reason is miscommunication, they sent men with jobs inclined for logistics and rear duties early on rather than sending more waves of infantry as they should have. They didn’t do this internationally though they thought they had already advanced up the beach

  3. to all who are joking about warfare stfu if you were a soldier and saw all you're friends dying or crying how would you feel this is not a game this is real life and this is happening while you are chilling in you're house think about jokes first before saying them

  4. And the Soveits were having these operations almoat every day in the main front of the war. What we did in western europe was secondary to the main war happening in the East.

  5. My father's father would watch "Combat!" amid plumes of his own cigar smoke, reliving his experience, terrorized in the moment.

  6. He could could smell what! Well I guess if you have a traumatic experience you are probably going to remember that moment until the day that you die especially if you landed on the beaches of Normandy June 6 1944

  7. If that operation, D day were to happen today, with the same commanders, same outcome, and same casualties…would all be relived of command.

  8. If 2 or 3 guys get off one boat thats good enough (its what the higher ups concluded)…. The boats made many returns back to the ships to get more troops, and unload the expired ones on the boats. Imagine being a soldier, waiting to get on the boat to go off to the beach, meanwhile they are taking like 10 bodies out of the boat, and its covered in puke, blood, and every other bodily fluid…. The first initial boats that arrived got it the worst obviously, and that's what they show in the film. Also, they needed to clear room for the tanks to get on the beach. Once the tanks hit the beach it was already over. Taking that beach head was not the complicated part, it was getting to the head of the beach….

  9. And now George Marshall would be rolling in his grave if he could see America sided with the Russians, and overthrew American democracy. A shame to what we once stood for.

  10. I swear everyyoneeeeee “knows” someone like there dad or dads friend or dads, dad. Highly doubt there’s that many people who know a ww2 vet that stepped out. That’s a common story from the release of the movie. Loser podcasters

  11. I've been to Normandy and as crazy as it sounds the depiction in the movie is actually only a fraction of what it was really like. The tide was FAR further back and the Americans were pinned down on the beach for hours before the defenses were taken out by the navy.

  12. My Grandfather was there on this day! Did not talk much about it until the very end of his life. …then he said little. Passed away well before this movie came out.

  13. They were the greatest generation! Many people today have no idea of the sacrifices they made to keep us free!

  14. Nearly 4K likes and only 85 comments. Almost all references to family members who had to exist this. And almost entirely American. You think the German troops were stoked seeing the inferior American equipment but insanely superior manpower? Die till the last man. The score cut with the absolute division 😢of the MG-42 VS the sloppy ass opening
The first 15 minutes of this movie makes it worth every penny.
God bless Tom, and Barry. May Spielberg and Hanks rest easy in hell.

  15. WW2 was population control nothing more!! And thats all gonna come out soon….russia lost 20 30 million germans lost millions Americans, British, french all had staggering losses and Japanese all lost patriototic men..Then when WW2 was over we helped mazis escape along with brits catholic churches hitler lived 20 years after the war had 2 daughters one is Angela Merkel!!! Ran Germany till 2021 or 2022! Not a coincidence… America got NASA,, CIA project mocking bird CIA mind control all from Nazi scientists…all made up war for population control..vietnam, iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, korea all the same! Trump is releasing documents Argentina had the docs about Hitler and other Nazis living there till they died…every 20 years or so the cabal starts a phony war to kill masculine men and patriots and replace em with illegals its beyond disgusting and infuriating

  16. it showcased just how poorly planned the entire D Day invasion was! And you can thank the British for that because they insisted on planning the entire botched slaughter! My grandfather was Canadian, part of the Canadian Scottish regiment that landed on Juno Beach which wasn't much better, but Omaha was the worst.

  17. The toughest generation by a fucking landslide, these men were not only tough but brave, encountered some intense combat and displayed enormous courage

  18. Instead of sending all these men to their death and getting drowned and shot at right when the ship doors opened, Why didn't they have naval ships that fired rounds and level that bunker before they had infantry go and just get murdered? Seems like a lot of lives were killed for no reason. Heck, the pirates of the Caribbean movie cannon guns would have done the trick and would only have taken one or two ships far out at sea. I am pretty sure that a ship in that year was more advanced than back in the pirate days and old cannons. Strange, whoever commanded this should not have been a commander.

  19. And Scum Bag Rogan voted for a war hawk and now using our military..turning them against the people of tgeir own country …a draft dodger holding a parade for his BDAY. RUSSIA HAS AN ACTUAL PARADE FOR VICTORY DAY…ALL MY LIFE OUR MEDIA AND GOVERNMENT TRIEDCTO STAIN IT. THANK YOU to the men who served in WW2. I APOLOGIZE…FOR AMERICANS ZIEG HEILING….GET KNOW MAGA?? YOU SCUM

  20. Never seen it. Heard that it was one of the stupidest movies ever made, staring a PDFile.
However, I did indeed watch part two called
Saving Ryan's Private's, which took place after the war, and it revolved around Ryan's war weary penis, It was about the various STD's Ryan accumulated during the war. Yep, he always jumped into every situation head first & ball deep, kinda like me. There wasn't a single malnourished homeless refugee beggar in Europe that Ryan wasn't willing to take to poundtow! & do the no pants dance. It only costed a quarter of a candy bar, a kind word, or an occassional harmless threat, to for them to give up some of that pinkpink. His favorite saying was also his favorite passtime. It went something along the lines of
Two in the Pink & One in the Stink
    I think , afterall
    ✌️➕☝️🟰💯💯💯💯💯💯👅✌️🍑
That being said, it's about time I saluted my rather war weary soldier
    🗣️🩸–0=👊✊==✊👊=✊👊==✊👊=3

  21. My grandpa had leave the theater as well. Man that generation of men and women were the greatest generation. I find it funny that the world‘s turned into crap now the minute they’re all died off. It’s sad. They fought and died to make sure we could have this beautiful country and look what we’re doing with it.

  22. Saw it in Würzburg Germany on base and there were a couple of WWII veterans that walked out either during the opening scene or right after.
