Did the constant exposure to violence provoke Jake Evans to commit murder of his family, or could there be another reason for such a mild-mannered person to become a killer?

Bad seed, some ppl are just bad seeds. We try to figure out why someone would do this. Some ppl are just born broken
Does anyone else here also see him as a victim?
People are always looking for something to blame. It's awful to realize that white people are more dangerous than every other race. I understand the mental state of this boy. I'm also annoyed with people. I don't talk to them. I'm amazed that something like this isn't happening more often if you look at the people running the world.
White people yall got to examine your culture, yall cannot afford to keep speaking about this situation as a anecdotal situation.
This gaslighting and coddling yall are doing to eachother. I can see why yall are crazy from the outside looking in.
A parents neglecting their child, putting them on meds, and telling them that this is normal just to find out its not would make anybody go crazy. Katt williams warned yall of what would happen if yall kept putting your kids on dog leashes and abnormal stuff like that.
Wonderful dispatch work!!
First my condolences to the family and friends 🙏
2nd great job to the dispatcher
3rd y'all gotta stop blaming movies 🎥 for people actions he and everyone else knows right from wrong yes someone could have monitored how much he watched or even let the young man vent to them or something but blaming the movies media or games to go and commit a crime is not an excuse to take an innocent life especially the woman that gave you life and selfishly take a mom from her other children or to take a child life not cool. Yes he doesn't like people being mean or felt suffocated but that's not an excuse ever that little girl had so much life left and his mom it's wrong, I love horror movies but I'm not going to go out and commit a crime , y'all can agree or disagree that's fine but simply blaming movies and stuff is wrong he knows right from wrong he could have said hey I need help or something ask anyone someone I'm sure someone would have helped. I completely understand Him not liking his sister racist comments or his family I agree it's wrong to judge anyone from their race or gender or where they come from , but that's not an excuse to take someone life period 💯 but I do hope this young man gets some mental help for his trauma or anything he's going through, also if he immediately felt bad screaming what did I do at that time when he heard his sister still alive he could have picked up the phone and immediately called 911 and got his sister some help
Are you really tarnishing the name of a dead 15-year-old girl by calling her a racist? Based on what? Her sick murderer of a brother's testimony?
I’m unfollowing this channel after blaming a dead teen for being a racist and the dumb comments about Mike Myers
He hates racism and rude comments. He's really going to enjoy prison.
Blaming media is surrendering civilization itself. Blame parents , not the freedom of expression. If your kid can't handle something like that, how can you not see it?
Even with responsible and great parents , he wanted to do it. He didn't realize how good he had it. Racism is stupid , murder is evillll
I grew up watching horror movies. I was 14 when Scream cane out. We used to watch it all the time. Not once did this influence me or make me want to kill someone.
Thw dispatchwr was the best 911 dispat her I've EVER heard! Great job being calm amd loving! ❤
I wish that dispatcher was my friend.
I think he was isolated too much. Home schooling and his mum and sister may had a better social life also some popular opinions while him remained isolated with movies and games. Lack of sleep, discipline and games…maybe he felt nobody was there so he projected his internal desperation onto his family…a lost soul who didnt ask for help
I think the guy was depressed and isolated too much that he started to think reality isnt real
Ive been playing games like GTA and Call of duty and been watching horror movies my whole life. Ive NEVER wanted to inflict harm on anyone. Blaming games and movies is such a cop out. The kid obviously had something wrong mentally.
Thats not justice for a sick boy…the law in Texas its even more sick…sick judge
And that @dominiquesaunders7002 is why this story isn't about you. I never assume that I know what others have gone through. The dispatcher was absolutely amazing
31:01 so pro tip; think of the music ?
They've been blaming video games since Columbine. Video games and Marilyn Manson.
Can’t believe people feel sorry for him lol boy I tell you
correlation doesn't equal causation.
If he wasn't competent when he was arrested why didn't he plea not guilty by reason of insanity?
Wish he would’ve called 911 before killing them and gotten that dispatcher. She would’ve been able to stop him. What a soothing voice. She was born for that job.
Everything about this video is FALSE!!! Watch the killer speaks…none of this is true, except the part where he wanted to wait for his sister to come back from college and kill her too. The young sister never made any racial slurs. He had no reason to be angry with them. THIS IS FROM HIS OWN MOUTH. Also, after the two bullets didnt end up killing his sister..he chased her all the way to the front door and shot three more bullets in her head while she tried to escape. He was paranoid and his delusions made no sense. He DID tell his mom maybe he needed to be locked up but she thought she could help him. Shame ON YOU for spreading lies about this horrific event. The poor family!!!!
This kid killed his sister because she’s rude 🤦♀️
Can you imagine having it all, nice family, affluent lifestyle, siblings, ability to go to college, youth, health. The world at his fingertips. And he threw it all away. I wonder how he likes prison life, I bet it feels like being smothered even worse.
It's a ridiculous concept that these days there's more violence because of the internet or television. We just receive more knowledge about violence and anything that happens around the world. HH Holmes never watched movies, Jack the Ripper never used the internet to watch violent videos or play video games. Not to mention the violence that religions brought onto this world. And humans are at war since the beginning of the existence.
Very sad all the way around!
Why’d this teen have easy access to guns? Nobody discussing that. Even with the odd behavior signs he was showing before the killing. Gun owning Parents need to be more responsible
Most people have the ability to separate between reality and fantasy we see in violent films and video games. Others are definitely inspired by it to commit crimes
Ahh it’s great to get the true context and details. So basically, Jake is a vigilante against the “we’re better than you” rich, even though he was part of the same family. It’s neutral in my eyes 🤷🏻♀️
No, violent movies or video games don’t make people violent. But for those already considering violence, they might fixate on a game or movie. A guy in my high school killed his parents, and he’d has a similar fixation on “Natural Born Killers.” Lots of hand-wringing in the media about violent movies, but afaik nobody else who watched the movie felt compelled to violence. I think the fixation is a symptom, not a cause.
I mean, the narrator is making an interesting story, but it's all bs. Everyone has biases and issues. Not everyone is a freak murderer. "You shall not kill"
