  1. I feel that everyone in front of the Oilers' goalie allowed too many high danger chances. Why back up so far, and risk screening your own goalie? Credit to the Panthers, they always looked like they had a man advantage.

  2. The min Button said the D was fine tells me why he has never been able to GM again in the league. What was he watching? Bouchard’s lack of DZ aggressive play was a major reason they lost so badly. I don’t care how offensive he is when he is not competing at all and causing goals against. Such a gutless overrated player. Nurse’s contract hurts them as well and he is grossly overpaid given his abilities as well.

  3. Why isn't anyone talking about how the Florida teams basically have a huge money advantage signing , attracting and keeping players? No taxes really? HUGE advantage and why 5 out of the 6 winners of the last 6 cups all have that agvantage (Panthers, Tanpa. Golden Knights) How about that??

  4. Mcdavid fan. Hope he leaves. Where to? If he stays Oilers have to trade for a playoff goalie. Skinner is not even close to that. He is a backup goalie at best. Oilers can't win with Skinner. No cup winning team wins without a playoff goaltender. McDavid needs to start calling the shots more. NBA players run the teams.

  5. Katz Management hire mistakes are pilling up indeed. People paid millions to get it wrong time and again, even when warned. If Bowman is a decent Gm, he should be able to get back to where the team was when Holland left, before Jackson sold the farm with Jeff and Ard, in 2-3 years. The real takeaway is this was predicted Regression (I have it all in writing going back to last August) and Oilers are very close to being in a permanent position to the a club that wasted 2 generational talents with idiotic decisions, like yet again thinking Stu Skinner is a starter. Wow.

  6. Been hearing for weeks now the coaching and even the players of the Oilers backing up the goaltending by saying they have been playing great and I'm referring to Skinner and Pickard. Pickard is better.. But I'm so sorry I completely disagree! Skinner was great at times here and there but if you look at overall, he let in a few weak goals and never came up really big in this series when they needed him to…. And several times, the Panther forwards split the defense and went on Breakaways and scored on Skinner's glove side. Only the McDavid goal where he set up dry sidel that does ever happen against Florida The shot to Skinner's blocker which resulted in a rebound on the last game was actually a terrible goal and a complete morale deflator for the team in my opinion. Trade Skinner!!! That would be my first priority…

  7. Wasn't Button the guy who said the Oil wouldn't get past LA… time to retire loser!… and get a haircut …dam!

  8. The only thing I disagree with at the end is Tkachuk saying that the players need to go and get the most money they can. Maybe the NHL Players Union pushes for that to help the players overall but a player shouldn't automatically listen to this. Money can't be you everything. Happiness is about more than just having money. These players have made good money before this and are still going to get paid quite a bit if they stay and it will be tax free which helps. Add in the fact they can stay and be happy on a winning team and enjoy some nice weather plus be in a non-woke state and to me it becomes an easy choice. Stay in Florida.

  9. Bouchard needs to go. The amount of turnovers that were because of Bouchard dumping the puck so he would not take a hit.in the home corners Bouchard will stand around and watch the opposing team work the puck in front of the Oilers goal and just stand there. Bouchard is NOT worth keeping if he wants 9.5 let him go and get another defence man like Ekholm.

  10. The gap was very wide. Oilers needed OT to win to games and in those two OTs they needed a PP and a fluke goal.

  11. One thing I find most these broadcasters must take a course on being two face . Up till the cup went this gentlemen’s was total everything Edmonton . Then the cup goes he there interviewing and he saying opposite from what I heard. All I know hockey has to get better announcers not neutral intermission is beyond boring and depending the score they turn

  12. Buttons is calling it straight, Ryan Ryshaug has to back up his Podcast and all the Squirrels over there , there was a massive Gap and Edmonton was extremely lucky to not be swept. Truth is last year they should have been swept in 4….so really this years loss in 5 is a 1 Game improvement in REALITY…..the statistical False-positive abound but Buttons has it right this time and Ryshaug needs to go back and pander to his cohorts. The Panthers led for over 300 minutes and the Oilers for less than 4o minutes in the ENTIRE Series. The Oilers WERE a One-legged Man in an ass-kicking contest and they were brutalized. That 1-sided slamdance beat a 1984 Oilers record methinks.Ryan how can you even take that stand with those severely skewed numbers? Thats not a small or insignificant differential so what exactly are you supporting? That the rest of us are somehow wrong but your Panel of 3 Gods on GYB is right, lol lol you can censor people who disagree on GYB cant you lol lol lol ?? Moma2 says hi, and that Connor Mdavid will NEVER win a Stanley Cup in Edmonton. I bet there are no tables open @ the Pink Pony Club this weekend ,maybe its time for a Culture change in Edmonton maybe its time to CLEAN IT UP little bit. FTY the Oilers SYSTEM was put into an Anaconda hold by the Panthers System —- the harder they fought the tighter the grip became until it was lights out, this was the same result as last year because noting has changed. NHL Hockey is about Systems FIRST….no 2-ways about it.

  13. If Hyman was healthy it would of gone 7. But he's correct Bottom 6, D core and Goaltending was better with Florida. But imo the Oilers are 3 players away to having a better D core and Goalie. Florida would still have a better bottom 6.

  14. As the cap increases the tax free states get a larger advantage. A few years ago Steve Yzerman was the league’s best GM. But replicating that in a state with taxes. Compared to Canadian teams who pay 30 ish percent.. Do we need 30 more years before questions are asked? Cap has to be evened out after taxes.

  15. Edmonton should go ALL IN on acquiring Arron Ekblad from the UFA then trade Bouchard for Erik Cernak (an absolute animal as a shutdown defenseman) trade Skinner & Ekholm possibly some draft picks for Jeremy Swayman, then Kane, Kulak and draft picks for Jason Robertson. After that re-sign Kapanen, Brown, Perry & Klingberg as our PP defenseman

  16. 2:30 The loss of Zach Hyman shouldn’t have had the impact that it did on the Oilers but their lack of depth meant his injury stint hurt them real badly. Games three, five and six, each featured the Oilers score at most two goals and lose all of them. Secondly, defence was an unmitigated disaster, with their having allowed at least three goals in all six games, including at least four in games 2–6.

  17. Everybody's forgetting that Marchand is a first line winger on the 3rd line. Hyman would have allowed us to use more depth to at least match that kind of player. But mostly, there's been no playoff system I've seen that counters Florida's use of Belfry's system. Any team wanting to beat the Panthers has to at least use that system as well as they do

  18. He says the defence is fine? No way… Bouchard a liability in his zone and a turnover machine. Nurse inconsistent at best. Eckolm was playing at 50%.

  19. If Canada had it's own professional hockey league picture it! Gary Betman has destroyed hockey. MLB no regrets!

  20. Guys, you are atm in a desperate situation. But not yet fucked up.

All is open. Connor decides in due time, when he sees what changes the management has been able to make. There are not much chips in the hand of the management to do these necessary moves to fill the gap of depth.

Connor wants before signing the see all this happen. Including a new no 1 goalie.

If he signs, its max 4 yrs. Then its 14 yrs in a row. And he can move on freely . He has done more than ever for the team. As a loyalty point if view.

  21. Knoblauch had no answers for Florida’s defence. Like McDavid said “we just kept on doing the same thing over and over again”. FLA locked up Drai and McD and Knoblauch offered no answers or plan. I would like to see Knoblauch gone.

  22. The officiating was fuckin TERRIBLE against Edmonton as per usual, Florida got away with murder so what do you expect from the Oilers !!!! Also going back to ST Louis in 1999, the controversal goal that was scored on Buffalo to win the Cup for ST louis was absolute BS too !!!! What the fuck… have the edacity to call the games for what they were…. The Gary Bettman show !!!! Gary Bettman has been hellbent on fuckin Canadian Teams over since he got a full year in power so have the balls to say something about it !!!!
