The Florida Panthers secured back-to-back titles by out-hitting, out-scoring, and out-working every team in their path — and there’s a lot the Avalanche can learn from their blueprint. In this episode, Jesse Montano and Meghan Angley break down Florida’s relentless forward depth, surgical special teams, and the game-changing role players who made a difference every night. From the heavy forechecking third line to the unsung heroes on defense and power play production from both units, this is a look at how the Panthers built a champion and what Colorado must emulate to lift the Cup again.

Team defense has to get a lot more stubborn. The biggest problem with this team is that they're high in talent but on some nights, low on work ethic. They can get away with winning against a decent number of teams without having to play the full 60 minutes, but definitely not the handful of teams they'd have to face to win the Cup. Also, Manson and Middleton are about the only grit we have nowadays and one is injury prone and the other is scratched half the time. I heard when you guys were talking about Makar laying out Jordan Staal, but honestly, how long ago was that? When's the last time a big hit came out of Makar? I honestly think this organization must big hitters because we get rid of everyone that does it most of the time.
Panthers have talent all across the board. Well balanced team. They have toughness grit playmaking two way scoring.
Avs have an elite pair in D.
Then you have manson who's physical but injury prone in final season. They have Girard whos small finese player.
Lindgren was a good physical player.
Resign lindgren to pair with malinski as 2nd pair.
Sign perbix and duomoulin to round out the 3rd pair.
Sign johnson to one more year min.
Id resign vesey to play on 4th line till LOC comes back
Trade coyle to leafs for domi. And resign kiviranta
Barkov could do more scoring but he emphasizes defense, playmaking, responsible play. People underestimate Barkov by thinking there’s any gap between him and whatever player you think is at the top.
the Avalanche are missing the “swagger” that so many of the Panthers have …we had that in Kadri, thought maybe Colton would fill that space but closest to any swag we have is Manson and Kelly … maybe Gabe helps fill that void but not very confident … we have high level “skill” but we are not “tough” to play against
The dirty plays by the Oilers were on another level. One Oiler holding Tkaxhuk while another punching him. Verhaeghe get slashed, falls down and then gets hit in the face with a stick by Kane.
Apparently there was some pretty nastiness being said on the ice . Could have something to do with it
