  1. Love everything about Rempe .he loves being a Ranger and is extremely great full to have the opportunity to play in the NHL. He lights a fire on this team .and he plays the body .unlike most of the team .let's go Rempe .he went home for a few weeks then came back to work on his game during the off season.

  2. I can't imagine someone's mindset being, "We need to be a bigger and tougher team with more attitude" so let's dump Rempe. What??

  3. Edstrom is physical, smart defensively and has great speed.
It would be foolish not to resign him.
Hes going to be a very good defensive forward for this team. He should be the 3rd line center and a great penalty killer for years.

  4. It seems like the assumption is Rempe will never improve in the scoring department, isn't it possible he gets better and more proficient net front? Isn't it possible his shot gets better? I mean the possibility is there isn't it?

  5. would love to see him on the PP. Let him stand in front of the net and block the goalies vision…..hope he is practicing tip ins…..:) I would love to see the NYR trade Bread and Laffy……bring in Bennett, Marner and Marchand. and if the price is right, Tavaras (i know) but Tavaras can anchor 3rd line center with the ability to score. he will be willing to play a key role in exchange for opportunity for cup.

  6. Fourth line is solid with Edstrom – Carrick – Rempe. Least of our worries. I hope Sullivan plays them more consistently than Lavs did.

  7. To the point about salary, let's look at the standard in the NHL – the Panthers. The Florida Panthers' fourth-line forwards earn: A.J. Greer's contract is $850,000, Jonah Gadjovich earns $775,000 and Jesper Boqvist's contract is $1.5 million. So the Rangers projected fourth line is similar in total cap hit.

  8. I see the vision of Rempe on PP2, especially when if you consider how he scored his goal in the series against the Caps, but I don’t think it would be a great idea for a lot of reasons

Being a net front presence isn’t just about being a body in front of the net but about positioning and the ability to move around to take the goalie and defender out of position while also allowing for stick positioning for rebounds and deflections. Rempe has definitely gotten better with his balance but he’s still getting knocked down a lot because he hasn’t developed a sturdy lower body to maintain balance

Another reason I don’t see it working well is yes him being big works to the team’s benefit but I can also see it being a bad situation since this team is notoriously bad at shot accuracy and I can see so many shots getting blocked by him unintentionally just because he’s too big to shoot around. It’s already bad enough how many shots the PP gets already.

If he continues to work on his agility and lateral movement on top of developing some offensive awareness then sure it would be a great option to try out, but he still has to prove a lot like being a player trusted to be out there for more than 8 mins a game to be able to get PP time already.

  9. He is everything that is wrong with the Rangers. I don’t need a big tall guy That’s gonna slug it out every night. I need tough resilient players who can beat the best. We saw two years ago the Rangers winning the president’s trophy, but then not being able to light a candle against the best teams, it’s time to strip the team rebuild with real players, not gimmicks

  10. Very happy about this Jon! Rempe, Edstrom, and Cuylle can definitely be a part of what this team needs to win moving forward. All these guys give their all every night on the ice and play with an edge. That's how Florida won, and will again if they keep their team together. They have an Elite defence, good goalie, and a deep forward group that has a love to win, hate to lose personality. They're have more players than anyone that's not afraid to scrum it up anywhere, anytime also has talent and speed. I think Drury wants to build this, but cane he? Time will tell.

  11. You're not missing anything, here.

Historically, some Rangers fans are myopic and riddled with contradictions.

Rempe is exactly the homegrown role player this organization has needed ( and the fans have begged for), for decades.

    Be patient. Let him develope.
