  1. The contract itself is amazing before incentives – the bonuses being paid out based on games played and not like goals scored or some metric he actually has an impact on is pretty insane to me. If you math it out – he’s literally going to get $5-$6M just if he plays in 50 games and then plays in 1 round of the playoffs which you’d assume on the Jets he would. That $$$ figure for a guy who’s a 4th or even 3C and hasn’t played in 3 years is crazy to me. If you get up to he plays 70 of 82 games and they make the 2nd round it’s like $6-$7M for arguably a 4th line guy (which I get the pedigree- but man is that pricey)

  2. This contract will either be one of the worse or one of the best, if he gets injured again, it’s nearly risk free in the sense that he will be extremely cheap and probably LTIRable until playoff time … once its the playoffs he will play injured anyways and again if the Jets choke again, bonuses are gone.

The Jets really really wanted a center and paid the price for it.

  3. He oozes leadership? Wasn;t he the captain when the sexual assault occured against Kyle Beach and players were literally making fun of the victim about hte assault on the ice and even in front of outside induviuals like on air personalities, the entire lockeroom knew according to the report and quotes by multiple players and others around the organization. He also defended the executives and upper managment that brushed it under the rug. I guess that's what great leaders do.
