If I'm Bowman.. I'm going after Eric Comrie and making some type of deal work for winnipeg to get him. Inexpensive and a huge improvement from what they currently run now. Comrie could get the job done in that crease for Edmonton. It's either that or get super aggressive and try to snatch up a #1 like Juuse Saros if the deal makes sense given Saros had a bit of a rough couple seasons and is due for a bounce back. He has proven he can be that guy but ultimately… I'm aiming for Comrie.
If winning is the most important thing to him – he’s on the wrong team.
If McDavid asked for 20 million we r cooked. We need defence men, not Nurse, Bouchard n not Ekholm. Top tier guys asking too much money n when playoff comes. They cannot compete. Even the best need entire 4 lines to produce to win.
If he takes a small contract to free up some money for better line mates then we know winning is really his first priority.

Everyone saying mcdavid is leaving, realistically where would he go? Edmontons been the second best team, and best in the west for TWO YEARS… and thats without an elite goalie. If Mcdavid wanted money he could go anywhere, he wants to win.
everyone said drai was leaving last year but he stayed. you dont think they talked? I wouldn't be surprised if he took a team friendly deal to somehow get a the missing pieces, and a goalie. I love Stu, but hes young and goalies tend to get better with age. He would be a great backup. Nurse contract is killing them though, not team friendly at all. They need to put that money into goaltending. I am an oilers fan, and i will support Connor regardless. And when that Stanley cup finally comes for him, I'll be cheering for him regardless of what team he's on.
