2026 Olympic Hockey Rosters: First Six Players Announced for All 12 Nations 🏒🇨🇦🇺🇸
Hockey fans, it’s official—NHL players are back at the Olympics for the first time since Sochi 2014! All 12 qualifying countries for the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics have revealed the first six players named to their men’s ice hockey rosters.
The final 25-man rosters will be released closer to the Games, which begin on February 6, 2026. Until then, here are the “First Six” named by each national team:
🇺🇸 USA – Auston Matthews, Brady Tkachuk, Matthew Tkachuk, Jack Eichel, Quinn Hughes, Charlie McAvoy
🇨🇦 Canada – Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, Brayden Point, Sam Reinhart

Islanders have the first pick figure they ride that for a year or two if they see immediate upside maybe buy in but if not play for another draft pick I’d assume

Top 6 is announced. Next 3 up I'd assume is Marchand, Bennett, Marner. My next 3 is Suzuki, Scheifele, Hagel. Jarvis as the extra forward.
Stone too slow. Plenty of room for Celebrini, Bedard next Olympics but if I had to bet, I'd say one of them cracks the roster.

Point is a top 10 player in the NHL. Was on the top line for team Canada. Can play Center or Wing and has a 2 way game.
Of course he's a Canadian superstar even if he isn't flashy.
Ok so the posts you saw with only Texier was from the NHL where they were showing the NHL players that were selected. There’s another post from IIHF with the full 6 which includes the European based players. Super confusing but I can see how you’d miss that
Goaltending has the potential to be a weak point of Canada's team.

Main takeaway is that it's going to be another international hockey tourney with an asterisk, on account of one of the top 2 — or at the very least top 3 — nations not allowed to compete. Dumb and petty.
