Skinner and pickard have earned another year in my opinion. Skinner had 3 shutouts in 4 games and great WCF performance and gets the finger pointed by his own fans. Crazy.

If he had a broken hand why is he playing on the power play?
Kane, Trent, Brown and Nuge being not 100% honest about their severity of their injuries could have been vital to the team success. Its hard to take yourself out of the game but you need to think about the team.

Oilers being investigated when Knights and Cats are fine lol. I would move on from Ardvisson, Kane , Rico , both Skinners and Janmark. Need to get the speed and youth lost last season . Time to get the young guys in the minors so experience in a full season. Kappanen played well when he played. The Goalie sage needs to be addressed. Why is the goalie coach still here ? 97 sent a message to management to get the house in order. Bouchard is still a liability but is a rare commodity in the NHL. Hopefully he will learn to skate when he is left like a pylon by a 38 year old rat. Hoping to see Bowman make some adjustments.
True and sincere advice for all Oilers Fans to help cope with this loss:
1. Practice your "what if" scenarios. What if the puck bounced differently? What if the ref saw it? These hypothetical victories are just as valid as real ones.
2. Perfect the art of finding "positives" in every setback. A 5-1 Game 6 SCF loss is just a valuable learning experience for what promises to be a very strong "next year."
3. Be exceedingly "proud" of effort. Winning and reality are overrated when you can claim boundless "effort," regardless of the final score or trophy count.
4. Revisit the 1980s frequently. Living in past glories is a healthy, productive way to escape the harsh realities of the present. Highly recommended.

I think we see pickard is going unfortunately. With skinner being only 26 and still having some ceiling to his growth, where as pickard is past his prime so to speak, it makes more sense for pickard to be the one that goes. And finding someone that makes skinner work harder to be 1A. Help him grow as it were.
In all fairness, I just want a clean league. If they genuinely broke the rules, then yes, punish them. However, I want that for EVERY team. None of this selective enforcement garbage either.

I'm happy to hear Corey Perry wants to stay another year , hopefully 2 or 3 years more . Skinner and Bouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuchard has to go . There was too many games that Skinner couldn't stop a beach ball . Bouchard has made far to many mistakes , there was countless times where he make a bad pass and he turns the puck over far to many times . To say he is a defenseman , not likely , sure he has a good slap shot , but what good is it when he can put the puck on net , maybe 1 out of 6 or 7 shots , he is useless in my books . Oilers should make up a package deal to trade Skinner and Bouchard as a package for a goalie

Kane was injured before last years FINALS –the NHL IS AGAINST CANADIAN TEAMS….. The Oilers need a productive third line & A NEW GOALIE. Skinner had 2 cracks at it & thats enough…. The Oilers CAN'T BE LIKE THE LEAFS WHO DO THE SAME THING EVERY YEAR & LOSE THE SAME WAY EACH YEAR……
