I believe they let Marchand go in the end. I don't think Marchand will accept the money they're going to offer him being in the 38th year. I think you're right the offer will be in the 4.5 to 5M range in the end I don't think that gets it done for him. But I don't think he wants to go to Toronto either. He hates Toronto. I could really see him as a Avalanche . There's talk that Necas could want out. I could VERY easily see the Avalanche sign Marchand in the 7-7.5M range and move Necas at the draft for a 1st as they Have no picks in the first 3 rounds this year. It would be super smart of them considering what happened in the playoffs.
I would bring in Zibanejad from the NY Rangers if they can work that out. Also getting Aaron Ekblad would be good to bring more championship blood (and critical information from Florida – how they run the team, the spirit of the players, work ethic, etc.) but maybe not necessary.
This is my UFA landing spot list.
Marner – Rangers(I think theyre going to mive a big piece like Jibanejad and take a run)/Vegas
Benett- Stays in Florida around 7.5M
Marchand – Avalanche
Ehlers- Chicago- I believe they pick up Ehlers to play with Bedard.
JT – Stays in Toronto
Ekblad- Also Chicago. I believe Chicago will spend some.money this year and will overpay for these players.
Brock Boeser – I could see him in Minnisota.
No to Marchand or any older players
