I don’t think getting rid of all the old vets and bringing in young legs is the answer. Many teams have proved that to be wrong. Age is experience – youth is inexperience – Just ask Brad Marchand. He will tell you experience, teamwork and DRIVE is what it takes! That is what I saw in the Florida Panthers in the final round against Edmonton!
No team has ever won the Stanley Cup with a player making over 10 million and these guys take 14M+ with no paycut on sight like Crosby always did because he wanted to win, seriously.
Florida was better this year then last oilers better team last year and good team this year I can defiantly see another oilers Florida final next year Only team I can see that could put stop to it happening would be the leafs
The Panthers are strong on the boards and cycle the puck amazingly well. Oilers can and will match and overcome it. It was a great season and a really enjoyable run. My daughter became a hockey fan watching this team perform in the playoffs.
It's truly something to witness the boundless optimism of Oilers fans! To maintain such a joyful outlook after 35 years and two consecutive Cup Final appearances that ended in abject failure, is just remarkable. Most fanbases might get a little fixated on actual Stanley Cup victories, but your team has clearly inspired a deeper appreciation for the noble pursuit of "almost" there, and "next year". Never Change.
I won't feel too bad since they will get paid handsomly for their effort. It's not like getting 0 or 7/8 Lotto numbers and getting nothing. They didn't win, but financially they won. I
Embracing the curse of touching the WCF trophy was a major mistake. Whilst one can argue not touching does not guarantee victory, touching it almost guarantees defeat. Wish we hadn’t tempted fate by touching it.

Florida GM did what it took to get better while Edmonton GM did worse then his cup team last yr.
Winning the cup there is no margin for error.
You either make the necessary changes to get better or you don't!
Oilers cannot be that incompetent to know that below mid goalies aren't good enough when Florida has an ELITE goaltender.
Florida's bottom SIX owned the Oilers bottom SIX it wasn't even close.
Leon saying luck is foolishness it has nothing to do with luck.
The GM either makes the needed changed to upgrade or you get worse like the Oilers did.
Edmonton year after year are wasting the beat years of Connor & Leon.
If I was them I would seriously ask the GM why didn't he upgrade in net & the bottom six…
Oilers rely on 2 star players & the rest are PASSENGERS You will never win this way.
Two star players cannot beat a Florida team who is ELITE with grit & heart & players fully knowing what role they play.
Edmonton won't win Sh!t until the GM is serious about upgrading what they should have known needs to be upgraded.
Skinner & Pickard ain't it & the fact that the GM thought they are good enough speaks volumes about the lack of intelligence in the GM position.
Edmonton doesn't necessarily need a goalie like Florida has bc Bob is a HOF but the Oilers need to make a trade for a TRUE #1 goalie or else they will keep losing in the finals or worse if they also don't get better bottom six players.
We all know why they lost so why didn't the GM know?? You can't slack in talent & just expect to win Florida totally embarrassed Edmonton this series wasn't close on any level.
Even the Oilers two big superstars looked like boys compared to Florida's men Winning most every puck battle etc.
