The avs mortgaged their future for some pretty bad trades imo… Traded a first rounder for Sean Walker….. Traded a first rounder and the best player in their farm system for Brock nelson…..

One way to solve the cap issue forcthe Avs is to trade out Sam Girard. He is a fairly good player for a team looking for his style of player. Unfortunately, he has become expendable with Makar on board, as a small but offensive and dynamic player on defense. Om top of that, Sam Malinski is surging as a very good replacement but on the right side. He is not that big neither but much heavier than Sammy Gee and much cheaper too. That trade would free up to 5 millions. All of sudden, the Avs eould have 6.2 millions free for getting 2 more players to help out of that crunch time.
LTIR is fine as long as the player is actually injured. If Edmonton lied and Kane could've played, throw the book at both of them
