Toronto needs to trade or buy out Nazem Kadri even if it was on accident he has still been suspended before and was scratched because of a meeting he was late to.
I don't think the NHL likes the Leafs. He says Kadri leaned into Fraser, making sure he'd hit Fraser in the head, but it's pretty obvious that he tried to avoid it but was too late. And he didn't even show the part where Kadri was apologizing and seeing of Fraser was okay. This deserves 1 game, maybe 2, but not 4.
:O 4 games seems a little harsh for that hit. I've seen worse hits that have only received 3 game suspensions but Kadri gets 4 for a play he couldn't exactly control. Seems like MacWilliam was about to cross check or push Fraser into the boards, but he refrained from doing so, only leaving Kadri a little space to get through. At that speed, you punish someone that harshly? Please. Kadri makes some dirty hits from time to time but they never seem too out of line.
There was no where else for Kadri to go honestly. He had a lot of speed going in and the left side was completely blocked. Stupid suspension, should be 2 games. He could lean more right? Yea, amaybe 5-6 inches. His skates were gliding along the boards. Not to mention that MacWilliam also pushed Fraser toward the boards.
He leaned in? He never leaned in! Kadri saw that he would hit Fraser in the head and he tried to avoid contact. He leaned outwards. He tried to avoid the Edmonton Oilers player. Plus another way to know that Kadri knew he was going to do this and that he wanted to avoid this, is that as soon as he made contact he looked back and tried to go back and help Fraser INSTANTLY. NHL thinks they're doing an amazing job analyzing this hit but they're not
Relax, Leafs future looks bright! -Now it's the battle between Leafs and Canes, for 4th worst team in the league, Bufflo, Edmonton, and Arizona are locked at 1-2-3 -I Think it will going to be McDavid-Eichel-Strome, 1-2-3. No team will take Hanifin over Strome, if you have a talent BIG center available you take him over anything, just look Panthers they took Barkov over Jones, and draft Ekblad following year….Smart draft. -Either Leafs win the lottery to get McDavid or they have to make a trade move up to get Strome. Leafs have to get Strome other wise this WHOLE tanking thing is going to be an epic fail -Leafs WILL get 3rd 1st round pick this year from Phaneuf, Bozak, Bernier, Lupul, and NOW Kadri someone going to be moved -If Nashville's pick is from 28-30th (looks like it's moving up to 25th), I hope Leafs draft Blackwood, we need goaltender prospect.
People saying he didn't deserve 4 games, claiming it was unintentional… I don't see anyone else bracing their arm and exploding through a hit "unintentionally". I mean c'mon, he left his feet after the hit, that's a sign that he actually meant to hit the guy.
For those who think that he never leaned look at 0:43 and 1:55. he could lean towards the boards but he is leaning in the direction of Fraser. clear proof!

I suspect Kadri didn't like the way Fraser brushed off his attempt to hook him. Made him look like an amateur, so he made Fraser look like a corpse.
