On today’s episode of Locked On Stars, Joey Erickson continues with more mock trades to begin the show including Dallas Stars Forward Mason Marchment. As the Stars look to acquire cap space Marchment is being reported a potential candidate to be moved over Jason Robertson who has recently been rumored as well. Joey takes a look a couple of teams that would be in pursuit of Marchment and what that return could look like. In the second segment, we look at both sides of the argument for Jason Robertson and the decision behind why or why not the Stars would trade Robo. To finish the show we take a look at the Norris Trophy voting table as one Stars defenseman found himself in the top 10.

Robo trade is insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Top 10 LW is not the same thing as a top 10 player joey. They already replaced him with Mikko. 4 years of playoff data Robo and it’s not the same player as he is in the regular season. Not one person is advocating trading him for the sake of trading him. A bonafide hot shot right D and some change is the only way they trade him so no reason to worry. And if they can make that move you’ll be a lot more enthusiastic about the move.
His game isn’t about dominating a series. It should be about dominating a shift but he struggles to do that too. The series was already over by the time Robo started to find the net. If there’s a trade involving Robo that makes the team better then why do we have a problem? That’s what winners do.
Getting rid of Stanky + 2 1st + 2 3rds and locking in $12Mx8 on the cap is bad enough. Losing Robo too is insane!
Robo for Dobson. Islanders get much needed scoring, Dallas gets a much needed right shot dman in the top 4. Dobson would be approx $7 M…Robo approx $10, so we save some $$$. Trade helps both teams

I personally see us losing a lot of battles and I see us getting outskated by the top teams which are the teams you need to line up against and beat in the playoffs. If you can't beat Edmonton and Florida in 7 then you aren't going to win a cup. So, stating the obvious, to make the final jump we need to change. Line up recruiting to the new coaches team setup and understand who we play needs to match how we play. I want team speed and physicality improved. This team looks soft and it gets outskated by the top teams. If dealing Robo needs to happen for a shift in identity then do it. I think Robo is great, but I also think he benefits from being next to Rope because Rope's speed opens up the ice. Mason? Deal him, he is in the box too much. There is a fine line between physicality and petulance. The physicality we need is the next coming of Darien Hatcher. Maybe Bischel can be that guy, but a new coach would need to instill that mentality. If Mason ends up in the box after he cleans Darnell Nurse after the slash on Rope EVERYONE IS HAPPY WITH THE MOMENT. No one did that. That tells us everything we need to know. Instead, Mason usually ends up in the box because of extracurricular nonsense. If selling him on the right deal frees up cap room, I would expect Nil to deal him.
Marchy takes at least one stupid and costly penalty every single game. Launch him asap.

The logic behind the point we have mikko signed so robo is tradable doesn't make any sense. Adding mikko with the current players makes the team a legitimate cup contender on the paper. Now you minus robo. The team will clearly go backwards. It will only be a playoff bound at most but not a cup contender anymore.
Jeannot is a free agent….. I’d rather trade Seguin if possible
My best case scenario would be Marchment and Dumbe moved aomewhere together for a consistent bottom 4 defenseman and at least a 2nd round pick. Stars need cap space, draft capital and a reliable right handed defenseman.
I wanted to take the opportunity to remind everyone – The Dallas Star's are CUUUURRRSSEEDDD – Silver anniversary of your curse – you should have come out of the locker room in 99-00 to legitimately win the cup.
Your defense as it is right now, not going to give you a SC. If you are going to get the talent and skills needed to advance out of WCF then trading Robo would give you and upgraded defensemen. You all should have never let Tanev go without a serious attempt to save him, or maybe there was an attempt and he just wanted to leave a CURSED team.

If I had to choose between Harley or Robo, I am taking Harley – finding a mobile offensive mined near elite d man is pure gold. I would consider trading Robo if we could get an interior scorer -Tkachuk. or Knies.
