Jersey doesn’t want Marner! Not tryna get softer….
Marner walking for nothing sucks, but the Leafs deserve what they get. They didn’t play there cards right. Marner should have been traded before his no trade kick in. They knew 2 to3 years ago that it was going to work with the core 4.
I wanna touch on a few things:
1. Marner is not what the Devils need. They need to focus on re-signing Luke Hughes, reshape the bottom 6, and then they can add a top 9/top 6 winger.
2. Marner will demand too much, and that will make the Devils incredibly top-heavy, which has been proven you can't win with that in the playoffs.
3. If they just stay healthy and add depth scoring, they will be a real issue quickly for the rest of the league
Screwing over the leafs is what will make him happy!

The main issue with him is the hefty price tag he demands.
Only weaker teams, eager to create the illusion of a big move and generate some excitement, might attempt to sign him with a lucrative offer.
True contenders, on the other hand, would undoubtedly prefer to acquire him at a much lower cost.
Marner isn't a good fit for us in Jersey. We got the talent, we need the size and strength. If a bigger team wants to, they can bully us out of a game and we can't do anything about it. Adding Marner wouldn't help with that. I think he would find more success somewhere else on a team that can stand up to their opponent if he were to get rocked by a hit. Like Steve said, Jack got destroyed by Pacioretty and there was ZERO response. Not a punch thrown, not a glove dropped. That's our biggest problem right now in Jersey. Can't wait to see where Marner goes.

Talent wise Hughes Marner Bratt Hischer is nasty but that team gets bullied by Florida
