The Canucks are impressing EVERYONE with this….

The Vancouver affiliate Abbotsford Canucks take a 2-1 series lead in the Calder Cup finals over the Charlotte Checkers. They were led by Sammy Blais, Linus Karlsson, Arshdeep Bains and Arturs Silovs. They are now 2 wins away from winning the Calder Cup, lets see if they can do it.

  1. Curious to see how Charlotte responds in game 4. Canucks forced the checkers to play to the outside the majority of the time and their aggressive penalty kill style allowed the canucks to make those quick passes backdoor to get those goals. Also the canucks seem to be targeting Kakonen's blocker side a lot. Still need to find a way to stay out of the box, and at times in the first, they were getting hemmed in their own zone because they scrambled too much to get out of their zone.

  2. Apparently the ice was awful in Bojangles Arena in Charlotte the ice is better in the great white north

  3. Checkers checked their ice making capabilities at the arena door.

The Canucks are certainly showing what it takes to beat the Checkers. That 3rd was UNHEARD OF with scoring. Karlsson showing why he is ahead of Lekkerimaki in the depth charts AGAIN. Bains came out of nowhere and has finally hit stride, and 4 points? MASSIVE game for him.

Abby is HOT and I hope next year they get more respect from the fans in the city, and better coverage and higher social media profile.

I'm rooting hard for Abby. Cheers Deaner. You are the best channel. Absolutely my favorite.

Best wishes and thank you for kicking out some content.

  4. LEE-nus Karlsson! Bains with the 3-1 goal, and it's Cockanin. If you're going to pay attention to this team these are some things to learn. Hardest working team in the AHL, have been since Day 1.

  5. Although it is cool to see the success of the Abby Canucks, I just can't help but feel that all of this talent will be traded away before they ever get the chance to play for the Vancouver Canucks.
