  1. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. Great insight on the position. Goalies are so important but so hard to predict.

  2. First I want to wish every dad a Happy and safe Father’s Day ! Opinion and mailbag question : First I would like to see DB and Jonesey work out a deal to trade up to number three or four position In this years draft obviously for the best center available. I would swap our first pick and trade the second pick and also, if needed a second or third round pick in next years draft. Do you folks think this is a possibility and who would the Flyers draft if the trade came to fruition?

  3. I will try to keep this as short as possible. 1. Why since we admit goaltending is an issue that the goalie coaches and development team that’s been here since 2015 hasn’t been addressed? They have NOT shown that they can help our goaltenders develop and take that next step. Those that have are no longer here. 2. Fedotov is slow and lazy. His angles are off and he is either too deep in the net or laying on the ice not recovering. Don’t even let him play the puck he is so slow to get back to his net and indecisive. Kolosov hasn’t gotten the help he needs. I went to many practices last year where he was left alone and just standing around or waiting for something. It was sad. As a former goaltender you don’t have to speak the same language to be able to help a goalie. He over thinks and gets ahead of himself and the play putting him out of position. Another that plays too deep and loses his angles. Errsson I’m sorry may be a good backup or lightly used tandem however he too has depth and angle issues not to mention the repeated dreadful agony of a goaltender with groin issues. 3. I think it’s time management thinks about a change in coaching to the goaltenders 10 years I think we should be way ahead of where we are, nowhere. Thanks for reading let me know if you want more I can elaborate.

  4. Thanks for the additional post today Rachel and Russ. Looks like Soderstrom was taken. Blah. As far as goalies, I'd dump Kolosov. He just isn't mentally in the NHL. I'd stick with Fedotov and Ersson. No sense in bringing in a short term guy taking up development and cap space. I'd bring in Knight as a bridge between the NHL and AHL. Ersson's durability is still in question for me. Hopefully, our young guys will get a look this season. We still don't know where we stand with the Phantom players at the NHL level. See you tomorrow.

  5. I would like your opinions for 2 goalies in this year draft, Medvedev From London Knights and Gabriel Daigle From the Q. League maybe late in the draft, thanks

  6. I’ve studied as much of Fedotov’s KHL tape as I can find; even at his peak he relied too much on his reflexes and athleticism. At his size he should be much more patient, perfect his angles and let it come to him more. As far as Skinner, he just isn’t good. It’s accidental and very temporary when he gets hot. Oilers are trying to win without a goalie, essentially

  7. Te issue I have with the Fedotov and Kolosov issue is this was their first look at NHL ice so there is an expected adjustment period. Niether of them got to have consistent play, you want them to adapt, but hand the keys to Ersson at the beginning of the season and anytime they have a bad game they don't see the ice again for 6-8 games. No idea why Ersson is given so much leeway when he was terrible last year and the 2 new guys were never given a chance at starter minutes.
