Just because Volchenkov lost his footing, doesn't mean he didn't hit Simmonds. In case you didn't realize, Simmonds lost his helmet, not Volchenkov. And after the hit, it was a Filthadelphia Flyer who went to defend his teammate, who received the hit, not delivered it. If Simmonds delivered the hit, I don't think a teammate would step in for him in defense. Wouldn't expect flyer fans to know that though.

Volchenkov clearly hit Simmonds pretty hard since the lid went flying, but Volchenkov went PAST Simmonds sideways, not down as he would if Simmonds really hit him. As hard as Volchenkov hit Simmonds, he actually missed!
