I think they should have rolled the dice with Cam Dineen. Sure, it was a small sample size, but I really liked what I saw in the few games he played at the end of the season. He has great instincts, he skates well, moves the puck well, makes good plays, and can jump up and make things happen offensively. You give him a shot on a regular shift. At worst he's no better than Stetcher and Klinberg and you go with 5 D-men, at best he could be a huge asset and completely change the dynamic of your D pairings. We all want to pull for Stetcher, and he played really well the first game or so that he originally drew into the lineup, but in truth, it quickly became clear why he's not a regular in the next games. He had trouble handling the puck in his zone when pressured and he had several offensive zone chances to make things happen he and fumbled the play each time. I feel like there is that lightening-the-bottle potential with Dineen—that relative unknown who's never really been given his fair shake, and who comes to life and wows everyone when given his shot in the big moment.
