  1. Other trade in OHL

    From Kingston Frontenacs
TRADE: We've received OHL Priority Selection picks in a deal with PetesOHLhockey
We'd like to wish Matthew Soto the best of luck in his OA season with the Petes organization

  2. Perry, Bennette, Marchand. At least 2 of them. Too many weak players on Toronto. Matthews wears a purse and someone gotta protect our little bitch

  3. No to Kadri someone said because there's a reason why Toronto initially traded him he was traded away because of the crybabies here in toronto. The fans. Did you hear Boston ever say get rid of Brad Marchand or even Colorado when Kadri got suspended was there an outcry to trade him. Sam Bennett even the dirtier player but we all want him playing here in Toronto so please explain to me how it makes sense no Kadri from the point of view of the person that commented.

If the NHL had an issue with Nas maybe it's because of Toronto so any other player like him will probably face the same scrutiny. OEL already said he was getting away with more when he was a panther that he was getting away with here.

Unless I'm missing something that Nas did then please correct me on that. Remember especially the company that now owns the majority of the Toronto Maple Leafs so if the fans scream get rid of this person they will because they know they will always have a full arena no matter how crappy the team is. So everybody can scream no way not this player and they will listen and we will never see the cup here.

I know teams make a lot of money come playoffs but Toronto may be one of the only arenas that is always jam-packed full when there's a game on and by the price of the tickets I think they could afford to not be in the playoffs because the organization would have made their money just on regular season ticket sales. Again I could be wrong and the person that quoted up there could be right so I'm just coming from a different angle with this guy.

  4. Yes, would take kadri despite his age. I don’t think we can get Bennett. Need to figure out who’s filling in for Marner. ???

Seriously, Atlanta ? To me I don’t want expansion and a more watered down league. Let’s keep the NHL really good. How come they can’t build up the AHL so it’s the second best league in the world. American hockey is growing but it’s not there yet. They need a better USHL league and need more players. How come there are so few players from Washington State, Oregon yet the CHL has been there for years. Even Illinois barely has players.

Kadri is older anyway…. Totally different player.

  5. Pierre LeBrun: Jonathan Toews' camp is narrowing the list down to a handful of teams, with the Jets and Avalanche among them – The Athletic

  6. The leafs should hold fast on signing anyone major until we find out if they can sign mcdavid

  7. Soft wimpy teams have never won a Stanley Cup.
Trade as many soft wimpy Leafs as possible and replace them with warriors.

  8. I'd take Kadri at the full $7m if it meant we don't have to give up any significant assets. If Calgary would take a 3rd or 4th rounder in order to take the whole contract I'd do that. Keep in mind… $7m is HALF of what Marner is likely asking this summer..

  9. I never wanted to see Kadri traded in the first place. He is exactly the type of player that would have helped the leafs this year against Florida. He just has to stay away from getting suspended and we are good to go

  10. C'mon guys Naz should have never been traded because of softy Dubas, Naz brings goals and tenacity, him and Nylander would be awesome

  11. all this trade rumours nonsense going on is as bad as the month leading up to the trade deadline… maybe they should finish the season first, especially if talking about current members of the final two

  12. Complain about Kadri at 7mil is a joke…35.gosls and 67 pts but you would rather pay Tavares 11 mil for his 74 pts lol

  13. Wennberg… who ya gonna trade for him?? Kampf, Reaves, Järnkrok, Robertson and 3 3rds lol
Leafs have nothing teams want without a nmc

  14. The Leafs were incompetent to let Kadri go in the first place. These dopey fans angered with him , he is exactly with the Leafs need against a team like Florida. We need to focus on beating Florida. We are not going anywhere if we cant beat them. If Kadri would have been playing for Florida he wouldn't have been suspended like that. It was a vicious suspension. And guys we are not going to get stuck paying full tab for Kadri. Rielly has to go. Too many giveaways. I also think the Leafs will be focus on Tanner Jeanolt

  15. I had been thinking about Danault possibly being moved myself too because I’m a huge Kings fan but I know Luc Robitaille is a huge fan of Danault so that would surprise me in that regard if he was moved plus the identity of the Kings is being defensively structured well and Danault is a huge part of it. With that being said Ken Holland is going into his first season off season here now so anything is possible but he said he thinks the team is already pretty good but he needs to just get another position somewhere or just tweak the roster a little bit hopefully into the right direction.

  16. ya – shanahan et al couldnt tolerate a gritty, on the edge, sometimes over the edge, but ALWAYS effective Kadri. traded him. this is exactly why Shanahan had to go, and why his vision of what a hockey team needs to be, how it is constructed, was so far off from what has proven, over and again to be the successful model to win a cup. you need tough, gritty, on the edge players who play with urgency and like their hair is on fire from SECOND 1 of the first game of the playoffs.
you know… exactly the OPPOSITE of Mathews and Marner, who, unfortunately lead this team for the last several years, led us to NOWHERE. Because there are NOT leaders.
funny that every hard core leaf fan i know, all of us 60 ish yr old guys who have watched collectively, hundreds of thousands of games, all say the leafs should never have traded Kadri.
who they SHOULD trade, and if not demote by taking away the C, is mathews, that soft, no urgency, no drive, no leadership, facewash taking. grossly overpaid absolute playoff DUD. get something for him how Leafs, before the rest of the league figures him out, and his stock goes down dramatically. Remember this conversation – without Marner, Mathews is a 25-30 goal guy, in a GOOD year. and not worthy of a C, or a 1st line spot. Sorry not sorry.

  17. Top priorities for Toronto :#1 Resign Matthew knies . 2 Tavares takes a significant pay cut maybe moves to 3rd line center . 3 sign and trade marner for valuable assets and maybe draft pick johnthan towes on a leauge minium resign pattrioctery he did so good in the play offs and most importantly trade a draft pick and player for another valuable defenseman who can play big minutes if one of torontos defenseman get injured their line struggles to make adjustments look how good tanev was and when he got injured how Ole struggled playing his postiion and more minutes they need their defense to be reliable if anyway possible get a dimitry orlov or aaron ekblad to beef up the back end stronger defennse prevents shots on net and makes your goaltenders job so much easier

  18. Naz has skill, passion, and GRIT to his game! Bring him back to Toronto. 2nd or 3rd line Center next season.

  19. Kadri is the type of player that’ll drag the Leafs into the fight, but trading for him would only be worth it if the Flames retain some salary.

  20. Kadri could replace Taveras, but not the both on the same team. Berube would love Brayden Schenn from St. Louis, a could fit for no. 2 center.

  21. Leafs we need to get younger, not older. Young, hungry players like Knieves… NO to Danalt, Khadri…$$..wow. Stop it with the older signings, please.
