Forget the haters man. Keep doing your thing. Appreciate the Sharks content. We need more!…Interesting bit about Desnoyers. I’m gonna be honest, haven’t really looked into him. I will now. Frondell is a sleeper at #2. He seems like everything MG has been bringing into the fold.
Misa just seems like the safer bet. Why take a risk on some other guy when you don’t have to? Worse thing that happens is that they end up trading Misa in the future and getting another superstar or 1st round pick. I think while we suck we should take advantage of getting the #2 pick while we have it.
I don’t hate desnoyers but if that’s the player they want then they need to trade down and acquire more assets
I think you are reading WAY TOO much into that sentence. It’s Misa or Schaefer.
The QMJHL is the worst of the CHL leagues. No way they choose him. With Chernyshov playing on the same line as Misa GMMG knows he’s the better prospect.
One of three things happen, and it is almost certainly #1 or #2.
#1 The Islanders took Misa, so the Sharks take Schaefer (this is our preferred, but less likely outcome)
#2 The Islanders took Schaefer, so the Sharks take Misa (Misa is hardly a consolation prize, he is exceptional too)
#3 The Sharks trade the #2 pick for a solid defenseman who is 24 or younger and either signed long term or young enough that he is restricted for many seasons.
Any other outcome is a monumental failure.

They will take Misa.. hes good and wants to be there
If Schaefer drops to two we take him and use the Dallas pick plus other assets to trade up to get Desnoyers
I can see Grier pulling the same type of move as last year. Use the #2 pick for BPA, then trade up for the second first rounder
You pick for BPA at 2OA. Based on their description this sounds like a reach for a role player.
Those "people around the league" are probably Blackhawk reps hoping Misa slides to them.
