Kreider getting traded was the right thing to do. Opening up the cap space is necessary to land an actual superstar/elite player. Whether it’s Robertson or whoever it’s the right thing to do considering the situation Drury put this team in.

Even though I really liked Tom Seaver, The METS won that trade. The only problem was that Par Zachary, who was The Rookie Of The Year & had A Winning Record On A Very Bad Team, ended up having Back Problems. Tom Terrific only had 2-3 more good years with The Reds
Doug Flynn, Steve Henderson & Dan Norman came over with Par Zachary for Tom Seaver. How can't you say The METS didn't win that trade, especially since they were going to lose Tom Seaver to Free Agency
Filk……You are 100 % wrong about Gilbert….he was not close to being an impact player like Kreider…..no defense, non physical….NO ONE who saw them both play would ever pick Gilbert over Kreider……
Seaver was traded in middle of his career……Kreider was not the franchises greatest player

Rangers will use this cap space to resign Cuylle long term before July 1. Gut feeling. Kreider was a complete, more physical player with Stepan and a much better player and more noticeable

One of the reasons why Drury needs to be fired is he fired a Head Coach based on a conversation with a player he tried to take a chainsaw to 12 months later.
I don’t give Drury credit for sending a message that quitting won’t be tolerated. 12 1st & 2nd rd picks over the last 7 years and only Cuylee has developed where he should be yet, Lilly, Glass & Ortmeyer are still here! Where’s the outrage for this incompetence?
Yeah he has declined but everyone sucked last season. Also wasn’t he playing hurt? Yeah we need cap space but they overpaid Igor still have a crappy defense, Miller has to go. Sully isn't a coach for rebuilding, he's a coach that gets you over the hump to the cup. No point in talking rebuild because its obvious Drury wants a cup run
As part of next year's 100 year anniversary NYR should retire Bill Cook's sweater. He was the first captain, first NYR to score, won first 2 stanley cups, and is in the HOF. Scored 34 goals in a 48 game season.
