  1. Perfect scenario: (not likely but you know why not)
    1) Schaefer drops to 2
    2) Lil Eklund is there at 8
    3) Three Team trade:
    Sharks Get: 8th pick (Eklund)
Flames Get: Ferraro, SJS 3rd/4th round pick
Kraken Get: 16th pick (CLG) + 30th pick (Stars via Sharks)

  2. Would the Calgary Flames trade pick #18 for Ferraro and a late 2nd round pick. Where the Sharks could draft Fiddler and still have pick #30 and #33. Then the Sharks could take either Brzustewicz or Psenicka or Beauchense (or whoever)

  3. I suspect GMMG grabs Vansaghi or Zonnon (he might even move up with a future 3rd) to get Zonnon at 30 and/or 33. Just the 'in your face' Ostapchuk-profile player. Whose hopefully better than Ostapchuk has looked so far.

I actually liked getting Fiddler more at 19. Only 1 player, but really, its a tougher spot to fill and he's got the talent/size/skill this team will need. Might take 4-5 years, but having a good RHD pipeline is a great thing to have.

My guess is GMMG looks for the Ostapchuk profile for forwards, RHD when available.

  4. Thanks for keeping the sharks content coming while we wait for the draft /FA. Also (late) happy Father’s Day.

  5. I wonder if Grier pulls a reverse 22 draft and trades the Dallas pick plus both 2nds to move up to 10/14 range.

  6. This is a good breakdown JD. Typically trading up for quality over quantity wins, but not always.

If the Sharks have a list of 6 guys they hope are available at 30/33 (let’s say Zonnon, Vansaghi, Brzustewicz, Gastrin, Nestrasil, and Moore), the chances that two of them are available there isn’t bad. The chances of a player who should have gone a lot sooner and wasn’t expected to be available there is decent as well.

Trethewey showed well at the combine and I suspect will go in the 30s or 40s. He was ranked like top-15 going into the season and became unfashionable for the pundits.
