8.85 million 7 years…….🎉
Why rush? Let's see an encore prior to an extension. He isn't eligible of an offer sheet next year.
Lol….i wish your videos were longer…thats how good it is
8 X 9.2M AAV
Like I said last week, you're my perfect 'dose' of Habs info. Don't change anything (the little 'blooper at the end: la cerise sur le sundae 😂)
You guys are the best.
I think this core is the opposite of the core in Toronto and Lane will become our highest paid core player but not by much. “We not me”. Go Habs Go. ❤
Good morning gentlemen ☕️❤️
Hutson takes a team friendly deal.. 65 million.. 8 yrs $8.125m..
Great show, thanks guys. 🙏❤️
Hughes is smart and will get Lane to sign under $10M. It will do wonders to how much he will be loved in Montreal. His contract will be less than Carey Price’s 8 x $10.5M, which is a positive.
Under $10M but over $9.583M and that’s still a top 4 D contract in the league for someone who only has 1 year under his belt. More than Werenski, Fox, McAvoy, Makar, etc.
I don’t see Lane as someone who is greedy and wants the spotlight of being the highest paid D in the league. Karlsson ($11.5M) and Doughty ($11M) got those contracts as UFA. Dahlin ($11M) is the only comparable but look at Buffalo’s team culture.
Approx 15% more than Seider who signed in September’24, but make it 8 years makes sense. That puts him in the 8 x $9.83M range. Anything less is gravy.
8×8. Hughes seems to always sign guys and people always say, Wow, great signing by Hughes cause it's always under what people expect. I think Huston also takes less like Suzuki and Caufield did when they both could have gotten more.
My understanding is that Lane had already maxed out on bonuses and didn’t get one for the Calder
8.5-9.5 x 8 would be a nice contract for the Habs and for Hutson.
Maybe not what the agent would like but I agree that his character and the culture in the room, I don’t see a second year player asking for 2-3.0m more than his captain Suzuki.
Shaun is the wild gunslinger shooting off on rumours on this podcast and Marco is the calm sheriff reeling him in 😂
It’s a good duo to listen to
Keep it up gents
Hopefully 8 years under 10.
You have to consider the cap increase.
I think Hughes will wait closer to the season to sign Hutson. I think it depends on who he drafts and can trade for then he can probably project Hutson ceiling
Enjoy your vacation Shaun
Sick intro slide!
I feel we should sign him this summer. In my opinion it's very likely that he does equally or better numbers than last year giving the fact he will start next season on the 1st powerplay from game 1 instead of game 28th + we should technically have more offensive firepower with Demidov and healthy Dach and Laine (🤞) PLUS he will again benefit from a break during the Olympics
Great outro boys. Gold chemistry!
Thanks 🙏👍
Shaun, I would not like to be Geoff Molson with you as the gm… giving money left and right like this with Hutson having completed just 1 season… ohhhhh my lord no…
are you crazy! 10 for 8 years. He is a small player and we all critised Bergevin for giving a large contract to Gally ,another small player. I love Hutson but he may be one dirty hit away from a end of career. He is small and an incredible talent but the wear and tear on his body will show up halfway thru an 8 year contract, give your head a shake. 8 for 8 is fine.
In fact, Kent Hughes didn’t just say there would be ups and downs for Slaf, he literally said they expect he could take a step back before taking his next step forward. I think it’s weird if people are less optimistic about the kid now.
