Canucks are not a playoff contending team with EP40 as #1 centre. He is a #2. He does not play tough enough to be a #1. He will forever be a good regular season player and never a playoff performer. I hope he proves me wrong. I can't see the Canucks parting ways with him.

It’s a weak draft, and, yes, they’ll probably move their first round pick, and there has been a lot of discussion about their lack of a practice facility. At least superficially, it appears that the lack of said practice facility was a minor factor in Tocchet’s decision not to remain in Vancouver. So maybe Allvin and Rutherford felt that addressing that particular franchise shortcoming (only NHL team with no facility or concrete plan to acquire one) was more important than scouting players they were never going to draft (they did send others from the management team). But hey, it’s the Canucks, so who knows what they were actually thinking
The ongoing practice facility situation is a farce that should have been sorted out years ago, and the fact the new PWHL team already has a plan in place just makes the Canucks look worse.
Have the Canucks and PWHL get on the same page before the renovations at the Agrodome get fully underway, make the proper arrangements with City staff, and convert the building to be the joint training facility for both teams. The Canucks can help make the commitment to the building better for both teams, and the Ladies get the benefit of any additional renovations the "nucks need to have it meet NHL standards in addition to PWHL.
Have the two pro teams work together to make it a better deal for both, just the same that if the Whitecaps are gonna push to stay with a dedicated Soccer facility that they should work with the Rise for a join facility for the benefit of both. Ultimately if the teams can benefit, than the fans should as well.

Wings fan here. I talk to other Wings fans and we all wish Yzerman had kept Pius Suter. With the cap going up this next season and even more after that, $4M is totally worth it for Suter.
