Netto late in the game yesterday so O’Harn is out and Lauriano is going to play right field instead cedric Mullins will play center and hit six the DH seven hole batter is Gary Sanchez batting eighth in left dylan Carlson and then Kobe May will bat ninth he’ll play at first base and the right-hander Tommo Sagano be on the mound first inning brought to you by Jones Junction harford County’s best 20 years in a row as well as Baltimore’s best and best of Baltimore makes Jones the triple crown winner of car dealerships for sales and service so ready to go on this cloudy day in downtown Baltimore and our words as we start rain rain stay away as it’s Tommo Zagano taking a spot of the rubber he goes into his motion and his first pitch is down and away on a sinker at 92 in Zach Neto 1 and0 on this orange out Saturday the Orioles in their all orange uniforms black caps and then the orange brim a one offering that misses the inside corner and it’s two balls and no strikes the Angels in their road grays with red caps royals won the shut out last night their second shutout win of the year 20 pitch and Neto will take down so that’s three straight out of the zone for Tommo Sagano to begin we know Tommo one of the best walk rates in the American League the sixth best overall the 3 0 and this is outside four out of the zone from Sagano and it means that Zach Neto is going to jog on down to first base guav has 11 steals on the year so unusual to see a walk from Sagano unusual to see a four pitch walk from Tommo Sigano but he hands one out now it’s going to send Nolan Shaunell up to the plate here it comes and that is a strike on a kneeh high cutter and it’s 0 and one 13 walks now for Sagano on the year to 12 home runs five and four record and a 323 erra sets and delivers to Shaunell on the 01 slash down the left field line a drifting foul into the seats making it no balls and two strikes sagano last time out struggled against the Athletics a lot of balls were put in play a lot of foul balls against Sagano and he tied a careerhigh by allowing four runs in four and a third innings james Gan comes out behind home plate and has something to say to Sigano and I think what he’s trying to tell him is move the rosin bag away because that can create a distraction for the hitter and technically it’s got to be behind the mound anyways so it’s 0 and2 here against Shaunell just underway no score with Neto off of first the righty ready the 02 pitch and he misses in the dirt with a splitter one ball and two strikes for Sigato split sweeper for seam cutter sinker and curve ball and what we have noticed about Seagano is that for him when he has problems it usually comes in the first inning spin and throw over to first base and Zach Neto is back on a dive neto or rather Sigano first inning sometimes he has a higher yard he’s got an ER of over five in the first and then it’s sub three the rest of the way one two stroked out to left center field carlson playing near the line has to race over but he makes the chest high catch and Neto back to first base one gone here in the top of the first inning and Mike Trout stepping up to the plate our first pitch today it was at 406 83 degrees and cloudy skies above us today’s time and temp brought to you by the Maryland Solar Access program making power from the sun affordable for everyone learn more at energy.mmarland.gov one out and here’s Trout right on right it’s a strike on a first pitch sweeper from Sagano and the count is 0 and one trout hitting at 224 on the season with 10 home runs and 25 batted in saga ready delivers and the 01 crushed deep down the left field line in the corner and it’s off the top part of the foul pole and it go so it’s the 11th homer for Mike Trout as he turned and burned on this pitch from Sigano and he gives the Angels a two nothing lead on one they hit off the very top of the foul pole and left 402 straight down the left field line and kept it as true as you can keep any ball in this ballpark off the top one third of the foul pole it was middle middle and just ignited by Mike Trout number three that is the spot where you do not want to make a mistake to Mike Trout he might be getting a little bit older but he has still got lightning fast hands the pitch to Taylor Ward rightand hitter is outside 1 and0 trout he’s serving as the Angels DH right now as he’s just recently off the injured list from a bruised left knee a 10 breaking ball serve foul to the first base side and it’s one and one he hasn’t been approved to play the outfield yet so just serving as the DH and he’s made the most of his games this season taylor Ward has really turned it on lately for the Angels it’s the 1-1 breaking ball flicked into short center field long run in for Mullins he won’t get there it drops down for a single so after the two-run homer by Mike Trout Taylor Ward dunks one in there and now it’s going to send Logan O’Hap off to the plate trout can hit home runs ward is among the American League leaders in homers and the same thing can be said for Logan O’Hap who has hit 14 of them on the year which is tied for eighth in the league the pitch strike taken on a sinker over the outside corner 0 and one and as we said yesterday there is no team in baseball that gets a larger percentage of its runs off the homer than the Angels a one pitch breaking ball stays outside and the count is one and one it’s even a one and one as Taylor Ward leads mayo holding him on one-1 pitch swing and a miss over a sweeper down one ball and two strikes and the Angels were shut out yesterday prior to that loss they had taken five of the previous six games that they had played having a very successful home stand two nothing Halos the one two outside a sweeper was an out of hand miss there from Tommo Sigano meanwhile the Orioles they beat the Angels two out of three times in Anaheim one yesterday and they have now won 20 of their last 26 against LA two-2 swing and a miss sinker up top and Oh cuts through it he is a strikeout victim first K that Sagano has picked up today and for each strikeout thrown by an O’s pitcher this season Autumn Lake Healthcare will make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association two out but two in for the Angels and now it’s going to send up Joe Adele right on right match up with Sigato the pitch and a breaking ball misses outside one and0 backing up Sagano on defense it’s Kobe Male at first Jackson Holiday at second gunnar Henders in at short jordan Westber at third dylan Carlson Cedric Mullins Raone Lauriano left to right in the outfield and then Adley Rutman catching 10 chopper foul wide of third it’s one and one and Rutchman with this being a Father’s Day weekend he is wearing light blue paraphernalia he’s got the light blue hockey helmet as well to go along with his all orange uniform oneonone the count here’s a pitch breaking ball hit off the end of the bat it rolls through the right side turning second is Ward he’s going to make it into third as the throw comes in from Lauriana decided to fire it in there westber had to go towards the left field line to get it but it’s a base hit for Joe Adele it would not break the speed limit but it was perfectly placed with Holiday shaded up the middle and the ball just rolled softly into right field first and third with two outs now and with Sagano over 20 pitches a meeting at the mound between Sagano Drew French and his interpreter Udo Sakurai couple of soft singles in this inning but it all was teed up with that leadoff walk on four pitches neto got aboard you know he’s a threat to Steel but it comes down to pitch execution and that’s where Mike Trout capitalized ball that leaked over the middle of the plate crushed for a first inning home run it’s just the fourth time in the last 20 take push ready step now the Angels tend to start a little bit on the slower side but Sagano said problems in the first inning as he deals and a breaking ball is low to Lamont Way Jr 1 and0 a two nothing Angels lead here in the top of the first inning lamont Way Jr first game with the Angels last night after he was claimed by Los Angeles a few days ago the one breaking ball is at the knees for a strike it’s one and one and it was a tough start for Lamont Wade he ran into Charlie Morton who had it all working last night struck out twice against him once against Henir Canó they throw to first and Adele is back and then finally one more time as he punched out against Felix Bautista to close out the game even count one and one sagano ready jacks third delivers and a 1-1 rip foul off to the left side a ball and two strikes lamont Wade went to the University of Maryland cereby got it in again and who also grew up coming to Camman Yards he is from Baltimore the set the one-two and there’s a chopper over the head of Saga charging in from shorthanders and throws on the move to first and gets Wayne ending the inning but trout hits the two-run homer as it’s another challenging first for Tommo Sagano Angels two Orioles coming to bat the bottom of the first in the Orioles radio network your dogs hey [Music] Yeah [Music] [Music] you [Music] Carlson and Kobe Mayo round things out against the left-hander Tyler Anderson 35year-old Southpaw 6’2 220 lbs we’re in high Red Sox eight feet shoulderwidth apart goes into his motion and delivers and that is club down the right field line it’s a fair ball into the right field corner it bangs off the high wall as Wade fields it and on the first pitch he sees Jackson Holiday with a double his at bats against left-handed pitching have only improved as the year has gone along and that’s a good start for the Orioles whose troubles against lefties have been well documented this season that ball was absolutely smoked he was up in the zone about the letters and Jackson Holiday just ambushes the first toss of the ball game at 107 mph sharp liner straight down the right field line deep into the corner love to see that to begin now you get Adley Rutman up to the plate hitting from the right side anderson delivers and misses off the outside corner the four seamer at 87 one ball and no strikes tyler Anderson one of the softest tossing pitchers in baseball as he averages just 88 miles an hour with a fast ball 10 over but high and the count is two balls and no strikes he is a pitcher that change up long been a very good offering for him opponents hitting 208 off his cutter this year and only 200 against his slider 20 outside corner for a strike as he spotted the change up and it’s two and one a guy that has been called a consumate competitor by his manager Ron Washington who’s a huge fan of Anderson two and one the count two nothing Angels bottom of the first inning with Holiday at second and now Anderson is going to step off the rubber if the mics are a little hot every once in a while when Anderson misses on a pitch you will hear a loud profanity shouted out as he is incredibly intense 2-1 hit in the air down the right side and fouled two and two against Adley Rutman now he is a left-handed pitcher but he is one of just a couple that the Orioles have beaten this year they got off to a good start against him worked up his pitch count and the other piece about Tyler Anderson he’s left-handed but he has reverse splits as lefties have done better than right-handed hitters 2-2 upstairs with a fast ball three balls and two strikes and lately Anderson has not been throwing very well his last five starts only one quality outing meaning six innings or more three earned runs or less and a 657 RA 3-2 pitch knocked foul down the right side by Adley Rutman who really slowed the bat speed there to try and defend against the change up full count against Adley Rutman who had a triple last time he saw Anderson 3-2 and it’s low for ball four now Tyler Anderson he won’t give out a whole lot of walks but he’s gone double and walk to begin things here in the bottom of the first inning and the walk gets brought to you by the Good Feet store get out of pain and back to doing what you love at the Good Feet store go to goodfeed.com to find a store near you and book your appointment today now you get Gunnar Henderson up to the plate now Henderson has loved facing Anderson four for seven lifetime against him the runners lead the pitch and Henderson will take a low strike on a cutter which might have been below the knees but James Gene our home plate umpire didn’t think so gunners hit safely in his last seven games always enjoys facing the Angels the 01 offering is up and in the sinker riding along his hands one ball and one strike reynolds trying to counter after Mike Trout hit the two-run homer off the left field foul pole in the first inning neto bird dogging Holiday at second base to keep him close rutman off first 1-1 and that is hit on the ground to first base fielded by Showell he’ll go to the bag get the force out of Henderson but at the least Gunner advances Holiday to third and Rutman moves up to second one away and Jordan Westber coming up it is Nolan Shawal at first for the Angels today christian Moore at second Zack Neto at shortstop and at third Luis Renhivo Taylor Ward Joe Adel Lamont Wade Jr in the outfield left to right and then Logan Ohappy doing the catching for Tyler Anderson originally a firstround pick in 2011 by the Rockies out of the University of Oregon you’ve already seen the impact of having Jordan Westber back couple of home runs since returning earlier in the week rightand hitter hands held high the pitch out and he’ll look at an offering upstairs one ball and no strikes and a bit of a different assignment for him than the last time he started he had to face TK Scooel out of the leadoff spot his last time didn’t play yesterday the one pitch change up cut through a missed one ball and one strike so you were going with somebody with some of the best stuff in baseball to somebody like Tyler Anderson who is herky jerky touch and feel and nothing overpower 1-1 hold on the ground out to third base it is fielded by Ren Heo he’ll throw into first retire Westber but that’s going to get a run in as Jackson Holiday scores richmond moves up to third as well and the Orioles slice the Angels lead in half it is now 2-1 Halos in the bottom of the first some good exit VO early in the inning but the soft stuff getting it done henderson gets jammed rolls over but advances runners to second and third and then a ball that’s wide enough of third where Reanifo had to range deep into the hole easy enough to cash in Holiday and pick up a run now it’ll be Raone Lauraniano who’s going to bat in right field today pitch to him and it’s grounded foul over the third base camerawell it’s 0 and one lauraniano contributed one of the two runs for the Orioles yesterday with a solo home run to left that was his 15th of his career against the Angels most against any opponent 01 swing and a miss for a high fast ball it’s snowballs and two strikes uh trying to time up Anderson who pumps his front leg a couple of different times before releasing his pitch it’s an unorthodox delivery 02 and a swing and a foul back fast ball right in the middle of the plate but he sends it to the screen and we’ll try this again no balls in two strikes the count against Ramon Lauraniano ryan O’Harn he was scratched with left ankle discomfort remember he got stepped on by Zack Neto when Neto was crossing through first base late in the game last night the 02 little tapper back to the mound it’s fielded by Anderson he’ll step and throw to first base get the force out there and the inning is over but the Orioles they get a run after Trout hits the two-run shot and as we go to the second inning Angels 2 Orioles 1 on the Orioles radio network get hot deals on cool rides at Jones Bair Hyundai [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] me [Music] one me better [Music] [Music] the rain will hold off today orioles trailing two to one as Tommo Sigano throws and Luis Renhifo takes off the inside corner it’s one ball and no strikes i don’t know Ben you feeling fresh today i don’t know that fresh is the right term the one off the fist into short center field out goes Henderson short stop makes a basket catch over his left shoulder nice play by Gunnar Henderson taking a hit away from Ren Heo which is totally understandable by the way i mean long day in the ballpark is certainly better than being anywhere else uh that being said you’d love it if the weather gods would be a little bit more cooperative we’ve had some weather problems here this year here’s Christian Moore hitting right side the pitch home and it’s a sweeper outside ball one you know I look at it from a fan perspective too you just want some consistency you just want some energy anytime you’re coming to the ballpark you don’t want to play the two or three hour should we get in the car yet should we not 10 pitch outside corner for a strike what does your weather app say what does your weather app say basically everybody was playing the same game in the in the car or the house before they left as we were doing in the broadcast booth one-1 swing and a miss for a sweeper one and two but the people deserve good weather you know this has just been such a roller coaster ride through the early parts of spring and now the start of summer i would love for everybody to just kick back relax at the ballpark or wherever you are tomorrow on Father’s Day and have some sunshine one-two pitch outside two and two here here and I think Brett Hollander told me this that it is seven straight weekends where there has been some kind of rain in this area well I trust his research two two pitch swing and a miss got him on the splits so Christian Moore still looking for his first major league hit he’s had four at bats 0 for four and he is Kane in two of them as Sagano introduces him to the splitter and with two gone and a two-1 Angels lead it’s going to bring Zack Neto up to the plate neto the spark plug for this Angels club four pitch walk to begin the game right on right Sagano misses inside one ball and no strikes and as Ben said the catalyst of that first inning was the four pitch walk to lead it off because eventually Mike Trout hit a home run and currently the reason why the Angels leading sagano deliberate wind the 10 pitch hit down the right field line and’ll go twisting foul into the seats one ball and one strike zack Neto he has become a much better shortstop while working with Ron Washington the manager of the Angels those two have built a big relationship even though they’re separated by a many years in age the 1-1 inside corner sagano spotted the split and it’s one ball and two strikes and kind of like the guy on the mound for the Angels and Tyler Anderson one of the things Washington loves about Zach Neto is his competitiveness not the biggest guy not the fastest guy but plays with great energy and is probably guy you would say is the one leading the Angels right now one two strike three comb splinter at the knees neto guess wrong and Sagano gets the strike out backto back Ks to end the top of the second inning and that’s today’s fast play of the game it is brought to you by the Marilyn hey everyone [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] 3 4 5 6 7 8 [Music] Straw Hat postgame kids run the bases with dad presented by Wise Markets get your tickets today orioles.com/tick ben thank you the pitch on the way mullen shows bunt and takes a breaking ball low it’s 1 and0 mullins Sanchez and Dylan Carlson in the bottom of the second inning the Angels leading at 2-1 off a Mike Trout home run 10 offering mullins hits it off the end of the bat but this will drop into short left field mullins reaches and the Orioles get the leadoff man on base for the second straight inning holiday began the bottom of the first with a double and then couple of ground outs would eventually get him home well it’s Gary Sanchez at the plate right now activated off the injured list after he was on the aisle for a good chunk of time right-hand hitter wearing high black socks and serving as the DH here’s the pitch and Sanchez will take a strike on a breaking ball in the middle of the plate 0 and one maverick Hanley was the counter move for Gary Sanchez and Hanley did a terrific job while he was here 01 pulling the ground at third base renifo’s got it to second one off to first double play 543 and Sanchez while he hit it hard on the ground it was right at Renhifo and allowed them to start the quick double play ball but Sanchez out was out with right wrist inflammation and he says he’s feeling much better than he did before and now for Sanchez it becomes about producing especially against left-handed pitchers which was a big reason why he was brought here here’s Dylan Carlson from the right side pitch home he swings first ball and locks it into short center field coming on is Adele who can’t find it now he locates as the catch is made in short center field ending the inning now second inning for Anderson nice and quick head to the third at Camden off base is coming in a brand new format [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] oh yeah [Music] the next couple here’s Ben Wager jeff I appreciate it 23 and four batting for the Angels here in Baltimore with a 2-1 lead over the Orioles tomayuki Sagano rocks into the windup but the defense drifted to the right the pitch to the left hand batter pulled sharply foul skipping off the sidewall just beyond the O’s first base dugout for strike one on Showell one for four last night out of the series opener and he’s 0 for one today he lined to left field his first time up sagano kicks and comes home and a curve ball yanked foul shot well in the hole no balls and two strikes against the 35year-old Tomayyuki Sagano orioles last time out their first shut out since early May when they blanked Kansas City 3 nothing ryan O’Harn was a big part of that one when he launched a two-run home run supporting Dean Kramer Yianir Canó and Felix Bautista’s shutout bid which they did against the Royals the 02 pitch watch out that’s diving down and in shaell moves his feet to avoid contact moves the count to one ball on two strikes last night Charlie Morton was great he struck out 10 before the rain stopped his outing after five innings it’s been a little bit different of a slog tonight a one-two pitch curve ball launched high in the air out to right field underneath it the right fielder there’s Raone Lauraniano and he makes the play shauna Wells retired we’re in the third inning being brought to you by Constellation Home for all your cooling heating and plumbing needs hitter number 27 Mike Trout and here comes Mike Trout gave this game a score when he launched his 11th of the season his first time up now 27 driven in sagano out of the line and a sweeper misses off the outside corner for ball one on Trout who displayed lightning quick hands on that pitch that he attacked from Sagano and now with all the different metrics you can put it into data form and prove it the one that skipped to the plate two balls and no strikes in Major League Baseball and especially the popular baseball savant data tracking site with Major League Baseball support you get instant analysis the 20 from Sagano that’s downstairs and it’s three balls and no strikes last year when they un unveiled their bat tracking metric it was deemed that 72 m an hour is considered a fast swing the 3 0 to Trout that’s way outside the second four pitch walk of the day for Sigano belongs to Mike Trout trout got his hands through at 76 m an hour on an inside third pitch and made it two nothing the Orioles have cut it in half it’s now a 2-1 Angel lead here in the third with Taylor Ward coming to the plate another home run hitter for an Angel lineup that features five different players with 10 or more home runs ward stares out riding on riding the pitch soft line drive sinking into right field that’s down for a base hit trout will rumble his way to second base and Ward has a two for two day that’s better than what he usually does and that’s leaving the ballpark number 14 so they’ll keep him in the yard and there are runners at first and second with one down for Logan O’H what a hazy day yeah it’s kind of soupy looking out sun desperately trying to beat its way through the clouds you saw Joe Adele in the second inning kind of had trouble finding the ball in that soupy hazy type atmosphere swinging a line drive straight away center field pushing Mullen’s back now squares up makes the catch quickly wheels it towards Gunnar Henderson powering down Mike Trout’s tag attempt [Music] so now two away first and second for the Angels i’m Ben Wagner making the call today with Jeff Arnold if you need a lawyer make the call to Miller Stern Lawyers at 410 Law Firm your Baltimore area personal injury and medical malpractice legal experts joe Adele the batter 13 home runs and he’s been hitting some serious thump lately the pitch to Adele downstairs ball one couple of hits last night six home runs in his last 10 games give him a baker’s dozen on the year he’s one of that cluster of five different players into double figures with long balls the one that’s in tight two balls and no strikes on Adele who’s batting six today all five Zack Netto Mike Trout Taylor Ward Logan O’hoppy and Joe Adell in the order for Ron Washington and the visiting Angels a two- pitch that’s over but low and again Sigato’s behind three balls and no strikes Wise Markets get your tickets or tickets 2-1 Angels orioles batting here in the home third inning two away nobody aboard bradley Rutman anderson deals got a fast ball on the outside half for strike one 35-year-old left-hander Tyler Anderson made his major league debut this week in 2016 the 01 pitch off speed down and out one ball and one strike on Adley first rounder by the Colorado Rockies went to the big leagues then as a free agent with the Giants he was traded to Pittsburgh another free agent deal with Seattle and the Los Angeles Dodgers now his third season with the Halos but 1-1 to Rutman spins high and it’s two balls in one strike both sides of Los Angeles he was an all-star back in 2022 as a Dodger and then last season as an Angel glove next to his left ear dips the hands of the buckle they break the 2-1 up and in rudman kind of diving out over the inside part of the plate straightened up quickly with that fourseam fast ball that’s not overpowering so it was recognition and then reaction by Rutman watching that at 89 mph the 3-1 pitch fast ripped down the left field line hooking past the pool fouled [Music] that’ll move the count to three balls and two strikes after a sharply struck by Rutman yanking it in to left [Music] with seven home runs on the year six out of the seven have been off of right-handed pitching can he time up this portsider the payoff pitch on the ground sharply in the middle of the diamond lunging to his left neto’s got it in short and he has no play tumbles to the ground and then loses momentum not able to ride himself and pop up it’ll be an infield base hit for Adley Rutman to extend the third inning o right now will take him any way they can get him to try to generate some offense nettle made a valiant effort getting to that ball it snow coned at the tail end and as he was spiraling into the ground trying to get some momentum to himself and get back upright he lost the ball henderson swings at the first pitch pops it up this will find the seats on the third base side [Music] strike one on Gunner who’s riding a sevengame hit streak extended it last night going one for four he and I were talking in the dugout before the ball game yesterday and I I said “Can you pinpoint how you’ve been able to hit the ball with a little bit more authority over the last few weeks?” And he was nodding up and down he said “I don’t want to give away all my secrets but I found something and something is getting results.” That’s bounced to the plate whoa what a knockdown by Hoppy behind the dish rudman with a recognition streaks to second and beats the throw man oh man that cut fast ball from Anderson was about 55 ft and oh had to spring to his feet and that’s a ball that actually missed the catcher and on a bounce hit James Gene the home plate umpire right in the sternum man you do not see that all that often deservedly a wild pitch rutman to second with a tying run henderson with a line drive into right field down for a base hit rutman hits the bag at third he’s coming home waits throw is cut off and Rutchman dives across the dish he scores on a game tying base hit by Gunnar Henderson we are tied 22 orioles take advantage immediately of that wild pitch unleashed by Anderson that got Rutman into scoring position and then Henderson yanks one to right rutman got the aggressive wave from Buck Britain sent to the plate a headlong dive dashes across and we’re locked up at two runs a piece third RBI in his home stand for Henderson against a left-hand pitcher move towards first base to hustle back Henderson gunner extends the hit streak now to eight he drives in his 20th of the season and we’re starting fresh a two- two game henderson goes pitch up and away throw by Hoppy not nearly in time leaping into the air moore had to swat it down it rolls over towards first base but no further advance by Henderson cutter will pick up his ninth stolen base in 10 attempts he got to second and now is leaning down on his knees he went into the ground pretty aggressively kind of like a belly flop over second base and he’s collecting himself [Music] beaver spread far apart leaning down on his knees with both hands now he’s up kind of surveying the defense around him pitch to Westburn half swing and a miss he offered at it clearly out in front of the change up westy didn’t play last night he cranked backto back home runs on Tuesday and Wednesday for his fifth and sixth early in the home stand 1-1 fouled back [Music] two2 score here in the third another thing worth pointing out Ben I mean we see Henderson try and swipe a bag right there well Hoppy is somebody you can take liberties against he’s thrown out just 9% of those trying to steal against him and the numbers have come down for catchers since the rules on the disengagements and things like that the pitch to Westber dives down and in but you also have to recognize when there’s opportunity available as well tony Manelino’s really stressed make sure if you have an opportunity and you can steal take advantage of it he said that to somebody like Jackson Holiday and maybe the Orioles will be running a little bit more with a hoppy struggles the 2-2 line drive sinking into right field that’s down for a base hit henderson racing towards the plate coming down the line the throw by Ward not in time a go-ahead base hit by Jordan West and the Orioles have telling twice here in the third and they’ve got a 32 lead over the Angels three straight base hits just like you draw it up here in Birdland rutman starts the rally with a two-out single henderson drives him home westber cashes in Henderson after he swipes second base to get into scoring position and just like that Baltimore is back on top and Barry Andre the pitching coach for the Angels is going to come out you know one of the other things that you’re happy about with Jordan Westber we’ve seen it before but the Orioles are a much different team when he’s here just go back to the second half of last year when you saw what it was like without him one of the other things he does is he improves things against left-handed pitching when he is on your roster and there serves it into the outfield so far they’ve wanted to test out Lamont Wade Jr with two outs in the inning couple of sends both have gone well and you’ve got the lead right now as Westber ripped that one at 108 off the bat wesley got a run in with a productive out his first time up got the O’s on the board he gets him in front here in the third and the inning continues for Raone Lauraniano who takes a strike on the outside corner a wild pitch and a stolen base teeing up this two-run rally in the third plus the aggressive sins from the third base coach Buck Britain the L1 pitch lauraniano fouls it back in the hole blow and two alone retired on a comebacker his first time up went one for three last night with his eighth of the year right-handed hitter had a step and throw over to Pur to chase back Jordan network wba scenes next to Jeff Arnold i’m Ben Wagner top of the fourth inning orioles three Angels two sagano back to work in the first pitch to Reano lofted left center field moving in and over as Carlson from left and he makes the play how quickly has that happened couple of very fast outs here in this fourth inning for Tomayyuki Sagato who just watched his ball club offensively get him in front of the Angels he fell behind on the two-run home run in the first inning by Mike Trout orioles had an answer in the home first and then tallied twice to take a 3-2 lead in their last at bat here’s Christian Moore first pitch hacking liner to right field there’s Lauriano reaches out and makes the catch over his gap and how about that a four pitch 1 2 3 fourth inning for Sagano off base is coming in a You fall you’re fire [Music] fire and fire mdot’s work zone safety campaign come out to experience the Marvel Universe at Oral Park buy tickets now orios.com/tick that’s Jeff Arnold i’m Ben Wagner we’re in Baltimore this afternoon orioles baseball at Camden Yards 32 O’s on top of the Angels tyler Anderson wheels and deals lefty on lefty was Cedric Mullins who swings and misses at strike one cedric single leading off the second inning then was taken off on a double play ball bounced into by Gary Sanchez he’s on deck and Dylan Carlson will also bat here in the home fourth 01 cutter misses down and away one ball and one strike on Mullins mullins flanked by two new outfielders today kind of one changing configuration the other pressed into emergency duty 1-1 yank foul one ball and two strikes on Cedric who had Raone Lauraniano in the outfield alignment when the lineup was originally posted today dylan Carlson was the ad because Ryan O’Harn has a sore left ankle after being stepped on last night anderson taking a long time looking in finally gets the data from the pitchcom device now the one-two pitch breaking ball fouled back orioles told us just before the ball game began that Tyler O’Neal will have his major league rehab assignment put on pause so that 20ame clock will reset when O’Neal gets back onto the field to play likely again in the minor leagues the one-two pitch to Mullins porked up the right field line foul and it stays one ball and two strikes o’neal has been dealing with a couple of issues on the left side of his body early in the year it was neck inflammation and discomfort now it’s the left shoulder area that has really been bothering him one two coming had a curve ball whacked out of play up the left side it should get out of play renipo streaking over there like it is playable but it’s not so it stays one ball on two strikes on Cedric Mullins so he’s going to get an injection in his AC joint and will be shut down from doing any baseball activity for about a week so it’s a full restart into the return to play program for Tyler O’Neal pitch to Mullen on the one two he takes outside and the count levels off at two balls and two strikes tyler O’Neal and Gary Sanchez from a position player standpoint really the longest two serving IIL stance that the Orioles have had this year 22 to Cedric and that bounces in three balls and two strikes it’s current concern you have with O’Neal coming in just wouldn’t be able to stay healthy and you know you talk about the latest thing that he has got to deal with and you know you talk about reasons as well probably why the Orioles have struggled against left-handed pitching and historically O’Neal has done very well against lefties payoff pitch to Mullins popped him up right center field and goes Adele to his left Wade goes over to his right and from right field it’s Lamont Wade Jr making the play on Cedric Mullins and there’s one down designated hitter number 99 Gary Sanchez that injury concern is another reason that the Orioles were a little bit more aggressive in going after Ramon Lauraniano and Dylan Carlson just because of the history so many soft tissue issues with Tyler O’Neal in his career barry Sanchez with wrist inflammation set on the shelf missing 41 games he returns to the lineup for the first time since the end of April bounced into a double play his first time up takes a strike from Anderson as Sky starting to lighten up here in downtown Baltimore hole one coming fouled back our way and it will fade just in front of our feet no balls and two strikes on the DH that right wrist inflammation officially put him on the injury list on April the 27th hung around the ball club just until they went west into Seattle and started rehab with Triple A Norfick 02 down and away that’s not even close one ball and two strikes on Sanchez who’s batting here in the fourth inning nobody on one out orioles with a 3-2 lead [Music] enfield back outfield straight up one two fouled away by the cup into the bat dribbles through the left-handed batters box towards the on deck circle dylan Carlson’s paw will pick it up anderson peels off the glove wipes both hands down each pant leg one by one pushes the glove back on reaches into the black mitt and a one-two to Sanchez curveball swinging a miss he’s down on strikes and there are two away well you know sometimes when you don’t have great stuff and and Tyler Anderson you know he is the definition of a crafty lefty sometimes what he will do too is change arm angles he’s done it twice in this inning he dropped down against Cedric Mullins a batter before and then on one two a little more over the top and was able to retire Gary Sanchez he’s got two down nobody on dylan Carlson the batter switch hitter right side the lefty deals and a line drive into left field down for a base hit tell you what Dylan Carlson hits his way into the lineup he kept himself on the roster with the red hot road trip that he had came back to Baltimore went three for three drilled a home run on Thursday emergency action today and he laces a base hit and maybe the Orioles will have a second consecutive two out rally wasn’t it Ryan O’Harn who said earlier on this year that if you’re a late insert into the lineup that auto automatically means you’re you do a hit you’re doing an RBI you’re do something or if you’re Raone Lauraniano two home runs here’s Kobe Mayo offered at the first breaking ball snapped off by Anderson strike one on Mayo that was the day of the what bicep curls before the game yes it was mayo popped in foul territory to the shorts stop on a good play by Neto next to the net mayo one outside half well maybe too much credit off the outside corner is for a strike fading change up from the left-hander puts Mayo in the hole runner at first two down the O2 that’s high at the hands one ball and two strikes mentioning [Music] Ryan O’Harn we talked about him earlier in the inning out with that sore left ankle after being stepped on in last night’s contest tyler O’Neal being shut down and getting the ejection in his left shoulder colton Cowser hasn’t returned to the lineup either one two swinging a miss but after the change up Mayo’s down on strikes no runs a base hit and a man left for the Orioles here in the home fourth inning we’re going to the fifth it’s 3-2 Baltimore leading the Los Angeles Angels on the Orioles radio network great moments in baseball have been brought [Music] [Music] He would draw up any rally for the Orioles this year yeah especially against the lefty Ben and you know you love seeing some of these long tough at bats the Orioles have put together against Tyler Anderson it’s the second time that that has occurred this year the pitch home and Sagano is low for the first pitch cutter to Zach Neto one ball and no strikes orioles up three to two three runs six hits no errors for the Orioles two runs four hits and no errors for the Angels on this hazy Saturday the 10 up and in and Neto got hit he got hit or it was off the bat and I think they’re going to say foul ball off the bat but it was coming up and in and Neto is going to re fasten the batting gloves while the Angels bench coach Ray Montgomery is going to get on the phone just to be sure and after the Angels replay room looks at it they are not going to ask for a review one-1 offering swing and a miss for a splitter below the knees it’s one and two that is never an easy call for an umpire i mean people will say that check swings are the hardest calls i would argue that the hardest calls are the pitches that come up and in and it’s did it hit the guy or was it a foul ball because you’re going off of sound almost the entire time and sometimes it will hit the bat and will hit the hand or wrist one two hold on the ground out to short step on a backhand henderson play it shallow left winds up throws to first it gets past Mayo he couldn’t pick it but it stays in play as Neto runs straight through first base and he reaches to start off the top half of the fifth nolan I’m going to guess with the range that Henderson had to make backhand lowle throw coming from the outfield grass this will be an infield hit i mean it was a bang bang play regardless at first probably a good throw gets him but I could see it going that way ben we’ll see what the official score decides but Neto is on base and now you get Nolan Shaell up to the plate left hand hitter and he jumps away from an inside cutter one and0 and they’re going to say that it hit him so that one hit Shaunell after Neto almost got nicked so Neto reaches Shawn gets hit in the pant leg and now you got two on base and you’ve got Mike Trout up at the plate and Trout it was a walk in the first inning that fueled a two-run homer that he hit in that frame that is the only two runs the Angels have and so Sigano in a little hot water here to start things off in the fifth now for Shaunell hits him on the pant leg that’s why it’s not a bad thing if those uniform pants are a little bit loose it increases the likelihood that you might get hit and get on base so here’s Trout and on base twice as check of the runner on the pitch outside sagano missing with a fast ball at 94 one ball and no strikes for Sagano he’s thrown some good splits the velocity has been fine it has not been the typical pinpoint command today one outside as a cutter not close to the outer third of the plate it’s two balls no strikes a little similar where he was his last time on the bump in Sacramento with not that sharp control he’s an artist he’s not an overpowering guy he works in and out up and down two popped up by Trout first base foul territory mayo over he won’t have room as this lands about 12 to 15 rows up now he knows he has to locate and the reason why Sagano has been so good is that with maybe exceptions like against Toronto earlier this year against the Athletics the last time where the glove has been placed that’s where Sagano has put it and he’s also realized how to sequence hitters up here better now that he’s gotten used to the American League two-1 pitch over but high three balls in a strike now against Mike Trout and not a comfortable position to be in if you’re Tommo Sagano facing Trout threetime AL MVP future Hall of Famer three and one the count here’s a pitch and Trout sails it foul upper deck off on the first base side but there three and one throws a sweeper got it in the zone and Trout sent it fouled three balls two strikes neto reaching base to start off the inning on what they have called an infield single and then the hit by pitch got Shaunell on base one hitter later sagano Cubs set here’s a payoff and it’s a called strike three trout dropped the bat 94 sigano missed the spot completely but Rutman held it over the inside corner and while Trout thought it was ball four James Jean said strike three and as good as the knowledge of the zone is for Mike Trout this was his strike top part of the zone over the inside corner and it’s the first out of the fifth inning wait for Saga to bounce back you talk about two things moving in unison the pitch and the glove pitch to Ward ground ball fair down the third baseline it’s past the dive of Westber it rolls into a foul ground neto’s going to come in to score shaunell will stop at third and it’s an RBI double for Taylor Ward and the Angels have tied this game up at three so the inning does not start great for Sigano and while he strikes out Trout Ward he may not have hit it hard but he did hit it past Jordan Westber who was playing off the line at third and he could not get there on the dive i tell you what Taylor Ward’s having a really nice year he’s among the leaders in the American League in home runs RBI’s and extra base hits and he’s not slowing down he’s fresh after being rested yesterday by Ron Washington comes out of the gate today goes with a couple of base hits his first two times up and then an impact AB heat heat [Music] first score in the fifth as Drew French and Sakarai head back to the Orioles dugout infield comes in in this three-3 game had cheer strike on a cutter to Oppy over the outside corner it’s 0 and one go back to that Mike Trout at bat by the way missed the spot but there’s so much movement on the ball so much movement with the glove i think that’s what stunned Trout as well 01 breaking ball nicked into the glove of Rutman 0 and two that’s the big sweeper from Sagano and his pitches profile so beautifully and the way that they move but rare to see that much activity between the battery mates 0 and2 the count runners lead the pitch high one ball and two strikes i also say this I give a lot of credit to James Gene for getting that call right on that 3-2 pitch because when you miss the spot by that much sometimes the inclination is to call it ball four but he stuck with the pitch and he made the right call one and two one out the set from Sigano he comes home and Alhapo looks at one high two balls two strikes umpires in their strike zone the ratings always under a microscope the old guard would not have called that a strike nope you missed the spot by that much but in today’s way of umpiring the box is the box two and two 3-3 the score the pitch home low and Sagano has run the count full in theory the box is the box there are you know there are certain metrics that tell you maybe the strike zone overall is more in an oval shape you can round off the corners where pitchers need to work to get consistent calls but it’s a lot more uniform than before 3-2 pitch chopper out to third westber goes for the tag of Shaunell doesn’t get him as he gets back throw to first is in time to retire oh hoppy solo was bounced high in the air westber claimed it at the third base back he reached to tag Shawn just to be sure that he was still there he was and then went to first base to get the out and so two gone in this inning game tied at three and Sigano who has been great all year with runners in scoring position and runners in scoring position in two outs trying to keep the story the same faces the hot hitting Joe Adell right on right pitch home in the dirt with a split one ball and no strikes now this has been one of those days where if you’re Sigano you have to battle he’s fallen behind more than he’s been used to the volume of strikes to balls the ratio has not been what it typically is a 1 low and outside 2-0 against Joe Adele but this is where you look at guts and guile and toughness and Sagano has battled to keep this a tie game while his offense is able to get a couple runs for him in the third inning two-0 pitch swing and a miss adele whipped through the sweeper it’s two and one adele has singled and then he was robbed of extra bases in the third inning on a great diving catch by Westboro 3-3 to score they’re at second and third two outs the 2-1 that is nicked off of Rutchman and the bat from Adele goes flying off the net behind home plate adele says “I’m going to go put some stickum on my bat.” And I think both Rutman and James Gene would say “I think that’s a pretty good idea.” It’s a humid day the sun is making its way through the clouds and just has the feel kind of what like a June in Baltimore is so the fans trying to get behind after Adele puts some more stickum on his bat handle two and two two outs game tied at three the Angels already one home in this inning to even the score sagano pumps the front leg back here’s the two- two inside split missed three and two keegan Aken has been throwing in the Orioles bullpen he opened for the O’s against the Tigers two games ago so got a little under 80 pitches right now he works on the stretch three and two leg kicking pitch breaking ball swatted foul off to the first base side and I’ll send it to pitch number seven against Joe Adele [Music] line score is identical three runs six hits and no errors for both clubs mullins in center field is tilted the other way against the right-handed hitting Adele carlson way off the line and left and Lauraniano straight up and right ray and two two outs sagano’s next pitch coming here it is and it hits Adele so he’s going to head down to first base and that just loaded them up the second hit by pitch from Sagano in this inning and now with the left-handed hitting Lamont Wade coming up next decision time for Tony Manselino this got Adele in the back elbow maybe around the funny bone the splitter has been the trouble pitch today for Sagano he’s hit two batters and he almost got Netto earlier in the inning too and two walks two hit by pitches things that don’t sound very Sagano like 80 pitches and with Wade scheduled to bat it is going to be Keegan Aken who comes on and he will inherit the bases loaded in a 33 game miss pitching change it’s brought to you by the auto loan experts at Point Breeze Credit Union celebrating 90 years take a hack at guessing pinch hit for Lamont Wade get a righty up there against the lefty in Keegan Akin who inherits base is loaded one is in in this inning after the double by Taylor Ward so it’s a three-3 game and Aken is going to try and keep it that way the one wave through a miss as King late on the fast ball one ball and one strike keegan Aken opened on Thursday night against the Detroit Tigers did a very nice job giving up one hit one walk two strikeouts in a scoreless inning one-1 pitch chopped on the ground to third westber has got it he’s going to run to third get the force out there and bring the inning to an end so the pinch hitter doesn’t work out for Ron Washington and the Angels but they do tie it up 33 O’s and Halos were halfway home on the Orioles radio network take a [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Tommo Sigano battles his command hits two batters and then gives up an RBI i double to Taylor Ward which ended up scoring Zack Neto taylor Anderson back on for the bottom of the fifth top of the order up and the pitch home jackson Holiday takes a change below the knees one ball and no strikes scott Kangory who came on as a pinch hitter for Lamont Wade he stays in the game in right field one offering tap fouled over to the first base side by Holiday it’s one ball and one strike and so Wade the Baltimore native exits after an 0 for two day sagano final line three runs six hits and four and two/3s two walks four strikeouts one-1 pitch rolled on the ground to the right of the mound coming over his net short stop fielding near second throws to first and retires Holiday first out of the bottom half of the fifth inning and Sagato battled the command he threw 80 pitches 46 for strikes doesn’t sound a lot like Sagano a couple of hit by pitches and as Ben said uh two got hit in the fifth it could have been three as Zach Neto almost did but at the very least he exits and Keegan Aken picks him up offering is outside to Rutman on a change up one ball and no strikes rutman singled and scored in the third inning that’s the last frame where the Orioles have scored anderson delivers on 10 rutman tried to check did he go yes says first base umpire Nester Sea one ball and one strike said Adley wearing the blue catcher gear today not swinging the blue bat just yet and you know about the special relationship Adley has with his dad Randy one-1 pitch poked off the end of the bat shallow center field tough play cannot be made by Moore as it drops in there and so Rutchman not hit hard but he has got two hits today and he’s been on base all three times as he’s got a single and the Orioles have the go-ahead run on base in the bottom of the fifth just 65 m an hour off the bat tough play for their Moore reached back and just couldn’t make the catch and for Adele not enough steam and not enough distance on that one for him to pedal over and get it so it sends Gunnar Henderson up to the plate left on left he pulls it foul of first for strike one but going back to Adley Rutman we saw Maverick Hanley also wearing the blue catchers gear last night with this being Father’s Day weekend and yeah Adley and his dad Randy special relationship randy pitched to him at the home run derby a couple of years ago in Seattle 01 knee high strike it’s no balls two strikes adie learned a ton from Randy from a catching perspective because Randy longtime baseball coach longtime catchers coach oh and to the count rushman away from first held by Shawell as the two- strike pitch has cut through a sinker alone the hands of Henderson so he’s a strikeout victim anderson is punched out four and with two outs and a man at first it’ll send up Jordan West in this three-3 ball game westberg drove in the last Orioles run in the third standing in right side tried to check did he go again they asked Nester say hi and again he says the hitter went around 0 and one and Westber he has been up twice and RBI single and then he brought in a run on a ground out in the first inning lot of room on the right side the 01 change up a low strike and two low no balls and two strikes christian Moore way up the middle at second base you can’t play directly behind second he is as far up the middle as you can go adele tilts it the other way in right center the O2 pitch close but high didn’t miss by much it’s one ball and two strikes against Jordan Westber who said he enjoyed the opportunity to face off against one of the game’s best in Ter School he says it’s nice to measure what you do against the best in the game one two change up this is low two balls and two strikes and many think Scubble’s the best pitcher in baseball after what we saw the other night I think we would agree he’s certainly having a magical year and Westber saying just how much respect that he has for Terk Scooel two-2 ripped out to right center field hit fairly well adele gliding back he makes the catch in the right center field gap and the inning comes to an in rutman reaches via soft single but is held on base sixth inning coming up orioles and Angels tied at three on the Orioles radio network hi my name is Mike Alabart and I’m in my It’s a great night for baseball this matchup features at guessing which baseball player or manager said the following i really don’t know what to say i’m just uh so happy I gave something these people cheer we all did i mean it was a great game both teams played incredible it was a great game that’s Mike Piaza after he hit an eighth inning go-ahad home run in the first New York Mets home game after 9/11 hear moments like this and more on the MLB app and MLB.com n90 FM101.5 in the WBA app we head to the sixth inning at Oral Park and the Orioles and Angels are tied at three angels getting a tying run and a Taylor Ward double in the last inning it’ll be 89 and one in this inning as Keegan Aken stays in the game and stepping back in with a play by play here’s Ben all right thanks a lot Jeff the lefty looks in and sees the right-handed batting switch hitter Luis Renhifo to lead it off 89 and one coming up for the Angels in a 3-3 game aken darts the outside corner with a first pitch strike on Ren Heo who’s been retired both times he’s been at the plate through the air pop to the shortstop and a left field 01 that’s driven up the right field line hit pretty well into the corner looking up and gone lauraniano stopped to play the rebound off the high wall it didn’t slow down it kept on soaring and Ranifo has broken this tie game a go-ahad opposite field solo home run just his second of the season it just had enough drive the opposite way to keep on going and get the Angels on top what an incredible turn against Keegan Akin after inheriting the mess bases loaded around him he gets out of the jam and then early in the six that he starts a clean frame he’s burned by the long ball pitch to Christian Moore over but downstairs for ball one the 10 off speed up and away and we talked about it last night and Luis Ranifo he hasn’t been hitting he hasn’t been getting many extra base hits and he’s done virtually nothing from the plate when hitting right-handed but he just hit it high enough over the wall and right the two swinging a miss two balls in one strike on the rookie Christian Moore who’s been in the major leagues less than 48 hours well of all the days Luis Renifo wasn’t supposed to be today swinging a miss at the 2-1 two balls two strikes on the number nine batter who’s one of the youngest players in the major leagues right now and if you look at these two teams and the youth that’s in the middle of the diamond you’re talking about two of the youngest middle infield matchups that you can have in Major League Baseball right now the two- two pitch dropped out of playoff to the right the Orioles have Jackson Holiday at 21 years old in 192 gunnar Henderson closing in on his 24th birthday to the average age just under 23 years old that is the youngest middle infield in Major League Baseball the 2-2 swinging a miss but after the breaking ball down in the dirt it’s recovered by Rutman he’ll snap the throw through foul territory and get the strike out of Moore and there’s one down orioles have played some really young matchups recently think back to the Washington Nationals of course we talked about the Angels just came from Sacramento with the athletics orioles athletics the Rockies who are later on in the schedule for the birds and the Angels are some of the youngest core infielders zach Neto lobs the first pitch he sees from Akin out to center field underneath it there is Cedric Mullins and there are quickly two out in the sixth inning being brought to you by PNC Bank patience is a winning strategy in baseball and in banking pnc Bank brilliantly boring since 1865 [Music] angels four Orioles three nolan Shonowell the batter retired twice to left and he got plunked pitched by Aken lefty on lefty and therefore a cold strike one henderson shades towards the middle expecting Shaunell to pull aken Deals up and away with a fast ball a ball and a strike from a position player perspective the Orioles are the third youngest roster when it comes to position players of course the veteran rotation that the Orioles have had this year is why the pitchers can’t be factored in because it skews everything pitch drilled out of play off to the left one ball and two strikes if you look at with the most games combined by players that are 23 and younger the Athletics the Nationals and then the Orioles lead the charge the ankle Angels are right there in the thick of it top six one two outside quarter strike three cole Shonowell goes down looking after the leadoff home run here in the sixth inning they get the Angels on top 43 aken retires the next three five and a half Mullins and Gary Sanchez coming up the lefty Tyler Anderson continues to twirl one of his best starts of the season he kicks and comes home and Lauriano takes downstairs ball one last time out Saddle with a losing decision was the Angel lefty matched up against the Mariners at the Big A the one change up bounce to the plate after a two-run fifth inning that was all the support that Logan Gilbert needed 3-2 victory behind George Kirby who was outstanding he struck out 14 in seven frames the two- pitch that’s a high strike call and it’s two balls and one strike on Lauraniano what’s significant one about this matchup with Tyler Anderson against George Kirby one the impressive numbers too 14 punch outs for Kirby the two-1 pitch to Lauriano swinging a foul back to the top of the screen but it was also the first start after Kirby exited following Raone Lauraniano’s line drive that clipped off the toe of his glove and then hit him in the face to the point where he was already bleeding by the time he got to the first baseline and then down the dugout steps when the Orioles were in Seattle so Kirby was certainly unflustered two two pitch from Anderson change up down and away three balls and two strikes on Lauraniano the number five batter is 0 for two today hit a comebacker and struck out 3-2 coming and it’s low ball four fourth time today the Orioles will get the leadoff man on center number 31 i’ll rewind that third time Holiday had the leadoff double and then Cedric Mullins who now strolls in started the second with a base hit free pass leads off this sixth inning tying run is Cedric Mullins his 11th of the year and timely barry Sanchez at the plate takes down and in ball one rocked into the windup anderson deals and a curveball cut on a miss one ball and one strike a go-ahead homer immediately after the walk a free pass a mound visit and then a bolt by Mullins 1-1 sanchez takes over the middle for a called strike one two that’s very high two balls and two strikes orioles on top 54 here in the sixth two-2 pitch that’s down and away that’ll move the count to three balls and two strikes on Gary Sanchez [Music] back out of the line nobody out anderson deals and a curveball hit high in the air out to deep left field does it have enough yes it does she is gone the birds have gone back to back [Music] what a return for Gary Sanchez after missing the last 41 games it was bombs away to the splash zone in left orioles on top six to four and they have knocked Anderson out of this ball game with a threerun six ron Washington is making the slow stroll out to the the Orioles a 640 O’s lead nobody out here in the sixth inning dylan Carlson will face Hunter Strickland who’s coming aboard for the second time in this series carlson’s one for two switch hitter he’ll bat left strickland deals and a swing and a ball yanked foul that is strike one couple of long drives of the game equal in distance first it was Cedric Collins with a blast to right center field at 394 ft and Gary Sanchez matched it 394 ft to the home run porch out in left 01 to Carlson check swing did he hold up no appeal so the count levels off one ball and one strike long drives of the game brought to you by your local Baltimore area Honda dealers contact your local Baltimore area Honda dealer for a great deal today 1-1 fouled away off the foot a hobbling Carlson gets punished with pain after fouling that ball off of the dish it’s one and two it was a three hit rally in the third inning by Baltimore that happened with two outs rutman Henderson and Westber all combining to grab a lead after trailing two to one moving into the bottom of the third inning orioles trailed 4-3 leading into the sixth got a leadoff walk to Raone Lauraniano cedric Mullins Gary Sanchez both hit home runs and the tune has changed quickly 6-4 Baltimore here in the sixth carlson’s good one two hooked out a play to the left one ball and two strikes on Carlson [Music] one for five now in the series against Angel Pitching [Music] strickland shaking out his arm getting ready to work again picks up the target knee dropped by Oppo and Carlson pulls one foul stays one ball on two strikes [Music] hook is closed on the starter Tyler Anderson he can’t be the winner but he can be the loser one two and that’s low and away on Carlson two balls and two strikes [Music] royals tallied in three different at bats in the first the pair that I mentioned in the third and now the three runs here in the sixth two two up and away three balls and two strikes longtime major league reliever Hunter Strickland started his career in the big leagues with San Francisco a stop in Seattle Washington with the Mets the Rays the Brewers the Reds now twice with the Angels 3-2 fouled away defensive swing made by Carlson keeps the atbat alive after extending on the breaking ball diving down and in on him really lengthy at bat headto head be the ninth pitch of the matchup coming up bren Heo way deep at third and shaded towards short a short stop neto legally behind the bag at second 3-2 line drive towards second speared by Moore and there’s one down oo have gone long twice today and now have 78 home runs on the season home run tally brought to you by ground loop geothermal this season not all the magic is on the field but under let the ground you walk on heat and cool your home with ground loop geothermal kobe Mayo the batter pitch down and away mayo today has popped to the shortstop nice play by Neto ranging back and deep down the left field line into foul territory next to the wall on the screen kobe went down on strikes his last time in the fourth now here he is in the sixth the one fast ball over the outside half a cold strike mayo might have thought that ball was low one out nobody on and the 1-1 swinging a line drive ripped up the left field line that’s down for a base hit and going to the corner mayo rumbles his way into second with his second extra base hit in the big leagues a sharp double delivered deep into the left field corner the extra base hits keep coming here in the six for the Orioles and Kobe Mayo wants to get in on the party now after Mullins and Sanchez hit the backto back home runs and you know what I think for Kobe Mayo we heard this said earlier in the week looks like he’s starting to relax a little bit of the major leagues i mean before just very tight expanding the zone chasing the bats have been a lot more under control you’ve seen some louder contact and they’re a good swing to turn the lineup card over just absolutely attack that breaking ball gets Jackson Holiday to the plate who takes in the dirt ball one jackson doubled and scored in the first inning has bounced twice to second one for three this afternoon he had some really good cuts on the left-hander Tyler Anderson runner at second the 10 swinging a high fly ball right center field loping back goes Adele at the wall and he’s there making the catch mayo will tag he will advance to third on the deep drive from Holiday while we have 10 let’s take it here in the sixth on the Orioles Radio Network wba WIYHD2 Baltimore this is WBA News Radio 1090 and FM101.5 [Music] ryan Leco at Baseball Control right behind us our on-site producer and engineer is Reese Leven thanks to Jeff Arnold line ben Wagner we’re in the six where the Orioles have erupted 6-4 leaders on back-to-back home runs adley Rutman gets a first pitch strike there’s a runner at third with two down richmond’s had a busy day at the plate took a walk in the first inning singled in the third and then flared a base hit back in the fifth the 01 fast balls outside one ball and one strike on Adalie switch hitter on the left side slightly open stance the 1-1 fouled away at the plate one ball and two strikes just looking at some of the metrics on that drive by Jackson Holiday almost 104 off the bat 39° launch angle that might have cost him it was 36 he probably picks up the extra 5 ft one two to Adley strike three called on the bottom outside corner he goes down looking and the side is retired but this place has come to life on back-to back home runs cedric Mullins with a go-ahead shot and then Gary Sanchez the encore 64 Orioles leading the Angels as we go to the seven great moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 smith courts one to right down the line it may go Radio 7th inning is being brought to you by the Maryland mortgage program seven steps to home ownership start your journey at mmpp.mmarland.gov certainly became a much better afternoon here at Orio Park after the back-to-back home runs cedric Mullins and Gary Sanchez go long it’s a 6-4 Orioles lead moving into the seventh for the Angels Mike Trout mike Trout Taylor Ward Logan O’Hoppy coming to the plate against Sir Anthony Dominguez 28th appearance of the year 25 and 2/3 [Music] big powerful right-hander against Mike Trout the pitch that’s a fast ball upstairs for ball one mike Troutton has returned to the Charm City knows that he can bank on one specific fan here at the ballpark every time he comes to Oral Park growing relationship with a youngster a 10 and therefore a called strike jason and Julie Eden live in the suburbs of Baltimore and they noticed their young son Gavin’s affection for baseball and specifically the way he admired Mike Trout playing early in his career the one-1 spins down and away two balls in one strike their son Gavin then started to mimic the outfits that Mike Trout wore so he would acquire jerseys and tops to mimic his Angel’s hero the two-1 pitch trout swings and fouls it into the glove it’s two balls and two strikes well finally in 2019 a young 9-year-old Gavin Eden got a chance to meet his hero on the field here at Oriel Park exchanged pleasantries mike Trout brought him down on the field i was chatting with his dad Jason and the annual pilgrimage here to the ballpark yesterday trout drives it out of playoff to the right the thing is you know the little kid is now a young man gavin is now 13 years old his brother Jake both passionate baseball fans had Friday night on their bucket list of things to do in this calendar year because they had their own baseball games on Saturday and Sunday the 22 boued back off to our right but the parents knew that they had to get tickets for the kids make sure they could get down to the dugout and last night in the in-game rain delay Gavin once again reconnected with his baseball hero Mike Trout signed a pair of batting gloves with him gave them to him to take home the 2-2 that’s up and in three balls and two strikes this story of blended by baseball with Gavin Jake Jason and Julie all hit the national landscape back in 2019 but it’s because of Mike Trout and his love of the fans that love him that they’ve kept this relationship going over the years and it is certainly very heartwarming pit stop for Mike Trout every time he comes here to Charm City to reconnect with the Edles if they can get him together at the ballpark and once again the schedule’s worked out and so did the baseball gods three balls two strikes dominguez deals and it runs up and in that’s ball four trout will be aboard for the third time today trout gave this game a score with his first inning two-run home run worked the walk in the third and now another free pass leads off the seventh and gets the tying run into the batters box for the Angels taylor and it’s the home run leader for the Halos club 18 long balls for Taylor Ward who’s three for three today and with his RBI double in the fifth inning gave him 47 driven in 31 years of age batting right-handed feet shoulderwidth apart Dominguez brings it home and a fast ball fouled back strike one toyuki Sagano got the start today went four and two/3 allowed three runs before passing the baton to Keegan Aken Akin then surrendered a leadoff home run Luis Renifo in the sixth inning that put the Orioles behind briefly the 01 that swoops in for a called strike good sweeper snapped off by Dominguez no balls and two strikes on Warden [Music] everybody in the ballpark exhaling but the two homers and the three runs that were cashed in the sixth the 02 down and away that sweeper was yanked not really a challenging pitch at all from Dominguez who has certainly figured it out over the course of this campaign really started to turn the worm in the month of May and over the last three four weeks has been outstanding one two coming pulled sharply fouled one ball and two strikes on the batter and the cleanup man Taylor Ward Ben the equalizer’s been the split i mean he throws that pitch a lot to lefties but he also throws it to righties he was saying that it’s something that he started to work on in the off season he never got a really good feel for the circle change up when he had it before one-two pitch swing to the miss and there’s the splitter it’s the strike out and one away in the seventh as he fans Ward and you know what he was saying yesterday that I might start throwing a little bit more to right-handed hitters too and this is why i mean it was starting at the knees and then it dove out of the strike zone but you know the split’s one of those pitches you got to have fingers that are big enough in which to grip it it’s not always easy to command but since he started using it it’s really worked for him it is a lethal weapon for Sir Anthony Dominguez a sweeper misses low on a check swing to Logan Hoppy i’ll be peeled down to first that is confirmed so ball one and honestly like the way that it goes now Tony Manselino has said this before the game you’ve seen a lot more relievers with splits and change ups because of three batter minimum 10 popped up on the diamond near first base mayo over the bag in fair territory with Holiday colliding and they make the catch mayo holds on to it getting the out nope check it it was Holiday that ends up with the ball in his glove they went shouldertosh shoulder it wasn’t a violent collision but it was a bump of teammates on the right side of the diamond point of emphasis get the out it was secured mayo might have taken the brunt of it even though he can out rebound Jackson Holiday if he wanted to the taller the two defenders but the ball ends up in the leather Jackson Holiday there are two down runner at first in the pitch swing and a miss by Joe Adele strike one o’s with a 6-4 lead here in the seventh 01 blowing away one ball and one strike i chatted with Sir Anthony Dominguez about the development of the splitter early in spring training and he said it’s not a weapon yet this is not something that I’m going to use frequently and really it was used on the back fields primarily before he started to snap it off in game one on the inside corner and some ballparks allow us certain metrics to watch as a game progresses and that’s exactly where Sir Anthony Dominguez would use it so the data wasn’t harnessed so other teams could get a real deep dive at it they could put their eyes on it from time to time but certainly everybody’s looking at it with a wow factor now one two that’s in the dirt goes back to the splitter righty on righty it’s got a great tumbling action the ball just absolutely dives off the table the other reason that you know he didn’t throw it all that much in spring training he just wasn’t very good i mean he really struggled in spring and a lot of mechanical things that he was working on so he said it’s been more a toy that he’s refined as the season’s gone along the 2-2 swing and a miss got him with a fast ball couple of strikeouts and a scoreless seventh for Sir Anthony Dominguez he gets the shutdown and the Orioles were one after they rally to take the lead and we hit the stretch in downtown Baltimore with the Orioles on top of the Angels six to four the seventh inning stretch is being brought to you take a hack at guessing which baseball player or manager said the following i really into the home seventh ooils with a 6-4 lead over the Angels here’s the pitch to Gunnar Henderson is popped up foul ground third base side ranifo in the drift sprints over in front of his own dugout gets there in time to make the play on Henderson for out number one everybody plays Henderson to pull the ball to the right side and sometimes it’s a detriment because a third baseman is hung out in no man’s land with anything on the left side of the diamond that one just had enough hang time for Renifa to race over and make the play so Gunner’s retired one down bachmann now against Jordan West the pitch for the right-hander fast over for a called strike one westy’s had a couple of productive at bats today got home a run with a bounce out in the first inning and then drove home a go-ahead run in the third 01 fast balls outside one ball on one strike on West plugged into the cleanup spot today stars out at Bachmann one-1 way outside hard biting slider moves the count to two balls and one strike two-1 that’s chipped up the right field line slicing towards the corner foul good distance but too much slice two balls and two strikes on West this is an Orioles ball club that’s trying to secure a series victory today against the Angels after a shutout win yesterday of two to nothing 6-4 leaders now in the seventh 2-2 comebacker snagged on the backhand by Bachman on top of the bump reaching behind himself handles the comebacker just kind of stomping on it with the leather and then shoveling it off to first base to get the out it’s pretty nifty play on the bump yeah that was a behind the back grab on the follow through as behind the back and both legs torquing himself to handle that play defensively that’s nicely done two up two set aside here in the bottom of the seventh inning raone Lauriano hits the first pitch up the right field line pretty good distance next to the pole and foul just a little bit wide right for Lauriano in an opposite field bid lauraniano worked a leadoff walk in the sixth inning and that started the rally cedric Mullins drilled a pitch to the bleachers in right center field and then Gary Sanchez followed it up with a solo home run as the Orioles went back to back and the reason they’ve got a 6-4 lead now in the seventh 01 fast ball’s high one ball on one strike on Lauriano who found himself moved up on the card after Ryan O’Harn was a late scratched because of that sore left ankle after being cleed by Zach Neto on a play in the seventh tapper towards the short stop charge again scooped up in front of the left foot by Neto plays it over to first in time lauriana’s retired orioles done batting here in the seventh we have cleared seven and we’ll go to the eighth orioles on top six to four over LA on the Orioles Radio Network off MLB app and MLB.com i’m Tony Thornton get traffic updates with me weekday mornings with C4 and Ryan Neman on WB News Radio through seven innings here at Oral Park at Camden Yards we have seen four different lead changes here this afternoon and thankfully for the birds going back to back in a three-run sixth inning put him in front six to four as we go to the eighth andrew Kitridge is out of the bullpen jorge Solair is off the bench and take you home on the play-by-play story once again here’s Jeff Arnold all right Ben thanks so much as Solair sitting on 199 career home runs will step in there against Kitridge making his ninth appearance of the year he’s got a 117 ERA opponents hit .233 against him strikes out 11 per nine walks three and a half per N and now he gets the powerful Jorge Soler imposing presence in the right-handed box kitridge delivers and his first offering a strike on a slider over the outside corner 0 and one another good day for Sir Anthony Dominguez a scoreless seventh inning walks one strikes out two the 01 cut and a miss solair ahead of a slider no balls and two strikes keegan Aken gave up a run and a home run to Luis Renhifo as the O2 coming nicked foul it’s going to go down the front stairs of the Orioles dugout on the first base side kred sticking with the slider against Solair now the Orioles offense picking them up in the sixth inning putting a three spot on the board to take the lead the 02 down and away the slider from Kitridge it’s one ball and two strikes after Solair Rehifo and Christian Moore in the top half of the eighth inning as the Orioles try for their 21st win in the last 27 games against the Angels but one two wave through strike three so he’s stuck with a slider the whole time against Jorge Cer and it pays off for Andrew Kitridge who’s got a strike out to begin the top part of the eighth inning so that sends Renifo up to the plate he hit the homer in the sixth which temporarily gave the Angels the lead it was his first home run since April the 5th in what has been a tough year for Luis Renifa hitting left side now he bangs it to deep right field lauraniano looks this one back and there’s another home run for Luis Renifo a two homer day as he takes the Orioles lead and cuts it down to a run six to five your score as Andrew Kitridge serves it up to Ren Heo [Music] 419footer no doubt about this one so he’s got a homer from the right side and now he’s got a homer from the left side as things getting a little closer here at the end of the game that’ll send Christian Moore up to the plate right on right with Andrew Kitridge pitch on the way and a breaking ball strike over the outside corner 0 and one morris still looking for his first major league hit he’s hitless in his first six at bats in the big leagues 01 from Kitridge and it’s fouled to the screen and the count is no balls in two strikes and for Kitridge that’s the first home run that he is allowed in an Orioles uniform he’s been pretty much lights out ever since coming back off the injured list bearded righty leg kick in O2 and he misses low with a slider one ball and two strikes he’s got an unorthodox delivery he starts very slow and then it speeds up at the end the one two down and away two balls and two strikes he was saying earlier on in the week that some pitchers they like to go fast in their delivery from the time it starts he feels like it’s best to conserve your energy to the very end and then he just sort of whips everything through 22 outside slider missed count is three balls and two strikes and he has been told before that the way he does it provides some deception as he kind of uncoils at the last moment 3-2 offering Moore takes down for ball four so for Christian Moore the first time he has reached in the major leagues and it’s a walk with one out and the Angels have suddenly put the tying run on at first base and the lineup card gets flipped over for Zach Neto adley Rutman is going to now head out to the mound while Brian Baker begins warming up in the Orioles bullpen this group has been so good last 10 games an erra of a little over one and it has been top to bottom in the Orioles bullpen that has been lights out and that has helped support the starting staff helped out the offense the Orioles playing a lot of tight games recently a tying run on base 6-5 Orioles here in the eighth inning as Kitridge takes a look over at Moore out to a pretty good lead at first slide step and pitch low with a sinker one ball and no strikes so for Kitridge trying to find his command right now 13 pitches seven strikes six balls he leans back slightly spins and throws to first and Moore is back on a dive now for Andrew Kitridge Mitch Blasmire the oral assistant pitching coach put it this way the way that he kind of throws pitches it’s like maybe your dad would throw to you a whiffle ball like when your dad would deliver a whiffle ball pitch to you how it would come out 1 is low two balls and no strikes where you really hold back and then just let it go at the very end with all you have two and0 the count against Zach Neto he has scored twice in this game 65 Orioles in the eighth trying to hold on to this Saturday two hit on the ground to the left side fielded by Henderson he’ll go to second one no chance to get the runner at first but they will take the force out getting more off the base pads it was a ball that Neto simply hit too slowly and by the time that Holiday had the baseball looked at first and Neto had pretty much arrived well it’s going to mean you get two outs now in the eighth one in and the Orioles are going to go back to the bullpen as Andrew Kitridge will hand the ball off to his skipper Tony Manscelino let’s go to the bullpen brought to you by the autoland experts at Point Breeze Credit Union celebrating 90 years in your neighborhood it’s a 65 ball game orioles leading the Let’s see if you can figure out the following baseball slang term today’s phrase this year but not today guy who was really good for the Angels last year he’s had a tough year but he’s hit homers his last two at bats and it’s a one-run Orioles lead now tying runs at first in Neto 65 and Baker tosses over and Neto gets back easily brian Baker what a year it has been for him 30-year-old right-hander and is making his 33rd appearance 261 erra and has settled into the eighth inning roll runner goes 10 3/4 swing and miss throw down to second catch tag out henderson hangs on netto tried to swipe it and while Anderson crossed a little to the first base side he picked it on a bounce by the tag now it’s out and the Orioles are out of the inning it’s a little bit closer though with the Angels hitting the home run and as we go to the bottom of the eighth Orio 6 Halos five on WB News Radio this copyrighted broadcast is presented by the authority of the Baltimore Orioles and may not be reproduced or retransmitted in any form and the accounts and descriptions of this game may not be disseminated without the express written consent of the Baltimore Orioles my name is Ben Winer i’m Jeff Arnold alongside Riy Ree Sleven we’re in the bottom half of the eighth inning and the Orioles are going to send up Mullins Sanchez and Carlson here in the bottom half of the eighth inning against the right-hander Hector Nerys time of the Braves and the Angels this year an RA of nine 17 games pitch opponents have hit over 300 against Nerys the 36y old here’s the pitch it is off the outside corner one ball and no strikes mullins had the two-run homer for the Orioles in the sixth inning that gave them the lead as the 10 is down and the count is two balls and no strikes and then Gary Sanchez would follow with his first home run in an Orioles uniform so maybe some magic and a strike again for the Orioles here in the eighth two mullins off the fist skies it foul to the third base side moving it to two balls in a strike as the Orioles going back to back and trying to provide a more of a cushion for the Mountain felix Baltista who begins warming up in the Orioles pen hollins fouls the two onto the screen it’s now two balls and two strikes we saw 99 miles an hour from Felix Bautista three different times in the game yesterday now it looks like he’s preparing for his latest backto- back two and two here against Cedric Mullins now the team leader with 11 home runs the 22 scooped foul to the third base side fending off the split and it will send up another pitch from Nerys to Cedric Mullins the split for Nerys as we talked about last night that is his key offering two-2 fast ball just a hair inside mullins with the eagle eye against that fast ball which was just a touch off the inside part of the plate three and two the pitch home mullins shoots it up into the hazy sky near the pitcher bound shaunell coming down from first he’ll make the catch right in front of the base of the mound and there is out number one of the bottom of the eighth inning gary Sanchez so Gary Sanchez hitting a home run out to left field his last time up and I’m sure really good feeling for Sanchez he hits the homer he hits the homer against the lefty in Tyler Anderson which is the reason why he’s here this one sound like it clipped him and it did so was a split that missed in and it got a piece of Gary Sanchez so he’ll head down to first base and put a man out there for Dylan Carlson but now he played seven rehab games with the Norfick Tides and Sanchez hit three home runs so good to see some of that good work that he had to carry over to today now here’s Carlson and he’ll take a strike as he stands in from the left side now and it’s 0 and one nerys much better against left-handed hitters than righties and that’s because of the splitter the 01 pitch fast ball outside corner for a strike and it’s 0 and2 and while you know Nerz is pretty much just fast ball split he’s got a slider but he almost never throws it usually you’re seeing you’re talking about pitchers come up with change ups and splitters now as the O2 foul back and the reason is because of the three batter minimum you have got to find a way to neutralize a hitter from the other side of the plate because rare is it that you see a pocket and it’s three or four consecutive right-handed hitters or left-handed hitters in a row 02 is nicked into the mitt by Carlson and so he goes down on strikes two outs now in the bottom of the eighth inning and Kobe Mayo going to see if he can continue this inning there was a pocket of time in the big leagues where you had a dynamic bullpen and there are certain approaches that still have dynamic arm angles how they deliver the ball pitch repertoire certainly but now the pitchers have to be more dynamic pitch on the way inside cornerish for a strike into Mayo 0 and1 and that’s why somebody like Brian Baker you can call him I guess if you want the eighth inning guy because he’s platoon neutral meaning he can get out both lefties and righties a one pitch mayo stares at a breaking ball strike it’s 0 and two mayo lined a double down the left field line his last time up it’s also struck out and popped out in the game orioles six Angels five two outs bottom of the eighth the 02 and Mayo fouls it away to the first base stands if Bautist is coming on in the ninth inning which it appears he is Shaunell would start off the remember he was left with a bat in his hands after Neto was caught stealing it would be Shaunell Trout and then Ward 02 mayo chops it up the third baseline foul grabbed by Renifo and so for Valtista he’ll get a nice challenge in the ninth inning and he will be facing hitters in Trout and Ward and then the guy after Ward no Hoppy who know how to hit the home run ball royal six Angels five runner at first 02 male flips this one through the right side of the infield and into short right field sanchez station to station holds on at second base it was mis hit but there was a lot of real estate on the right side and it found its way through so making a multi-hit effort for Kobe Mayo and now you’re going to get Jackson Holiday up to the plate but not before Barry Enright the pitching coach for the Angels comes out for a word and it looks like the Orioles are going to get a pinch runner now for Sanchez at second base and it’s going to mark the Orioles debut for Luis Vasquez so is going to run for the Orioles catcher Gary Sanchez who will jog off and get a high five from Kobe Mayo as he makes his way to the dugout well we got to know Luis Vasquez pretty well watching in spring training he was fighting for a job on the opening day roster was right there on the cusp but when roster decisions had to be made he was left on the outside looking in went down to Triple A with Norfolk and just has been trying to play as steady as he could be there is a need at the big league level and patience paid off so he’s running at second mayo’s at first 65 Orioles nerys pitches fly ball left field playable for Ward he moves back into his right and he’s got it so the one-run lead for the Orioles will have to do as we head to the top half of the ninth inning felix Boutista throws one last warm-up pitch and as we head to the ninth Orioles 6 Angels 5 it’s mountain time here in downtown Baltimore on the Orioles Radio Network sear sizzle and save on all your summer essentials at Wise Markets with Wise Grill and 2025 MLB Draft Combine Tuesday at noon Eastern only on MLB Network 65 score and are three outs away from earning two series wins against the Angels this year bautista he’s going to go up against two three and four in the Angels lineup as the 6’8 right-hander warms up on the field mound here for Felix Bautista he pitched last night stuff looked great he retired the sight in order in the ninth striking out Adele and Lamont Wade Jr to end the game he will begin with Shaell who has reached once in four plate appearances last inning was up when Zack Neto tried to steal second and was thrown out by Adley Rutman it was a nice play by Gunnar Henderson who applied the tag shawal in left side is the mountain ready to go here’s his pitch and the fast ball chopped up the first baseline grabbed foul by Mayo and the count is 0 and one felix Baltista we saw him reach 99 m an hour three times last night and we might see him get to triple digits who knows maybe not long with the weather starting to really heat up 0 and one the count here’s his pitch splitter stays outside it’s one ball and one strike against Shaunell the top on baseman on this Angels club mike Trout who’s got a two-run homer already he is on deck and then you get Taylor Ward who is after him 1-1 grounded up the first base line this will stay fair fielded at the bag by Mayo tags first base gets the out and there’s one away here on the ninth inning and Felix Bautista we heard this recently he got some good advice from one of the great Orioles closers ever in Zack Written and he said that it takes about 20 innings or so post Tommy John to find yourself he’s just gotten past that 20 inning mark and you’re starting to see the VO tick up here’s Trout right on right 65 Orioles in the ninth pitch home fast ball over but a high and there is a 99 mph reading one and0 real innings we’re talking blood pumping you’re in the thick of it you’re trying to go through two three and four this is one of those real innings one and0 here against Trout baltista leg kick and pitch fast ball 100 just high it looked like it had the top of the zone but that’s the first 100 mph reading for Felix Baltista at least that’s what the radar gun says two balls and no strikes now the energy will be going gets Mike Trout two- pitch fast ball he was late fouled it away to the right side two and one yeah you want to get your blood pumping one-run game with a guy who’s going to be in the Hall of Fame standing in the batters box two balls and one strike the count a one-run Orioles lead with one out in the ninth felix Ready comes home fast ball poured in for a strike over the inside corner it’s two and two somebody that’s going to the Hall of Fame somebody that hit a two-run homer early in this ball game and now finds himself 65th all time tied with Johnny Bench for all time home runs two and two with one out here’s a pitch fast ball shot foul over the screen now Mike Trout he’s missed a lot of time in the last few years in account of injury last season was off to a really good start and then had an injury that cost him basically the entire season two and two with Ward on deck 650’s Baltista downhill and that’s a fly ball in a right center field lauriano hand up saying I he’s got it and he makes the catch second out of the ninth inning and now Baltista going to see if he can retire the Angels again in order and wrap up a 65 victory as the Orioles fans clad in a lot of orange on this orange out Saturday make their way to their feet and the Mountain gets ready to face the Angels home run leader in Taylor Ward 18 of them on the year and he’s got a three hit game he drove in a run in the fifth inning and then also has singled twice right on right with Baltista here it comes outside he started Ward with a slider there one ball and no strikes 610 for the Orioles 580 for the Angels 10 splitter low the count is two balls and no strikes and also Orioles finish this off the win against a left-handed starting pitcher and it would be the second time that they would have defeated Tyler Anderson this year 2 and 0 with two outs the base is clear bautista checks the target delivers to Ward and the two fast ball misses high three balls and no strikes logan O’Hap who’s got some power himself awaits in the on deck circle batista peers in dangles the long right arm as he’s ready on three and 0 the next pitch and that is in the same spot a little high ball four so now you’ve got the tying run on base in Ward and you bring Ohapy who was retired by Baltista last night up to the plate seen all year from him i would say it has been but one more ball than strike so far here’s a hop in right side pitch on fast ball elevated once more one ball and no strikes and now it’s going to be on Baltista to make the adjustment with the last five missing the strike zone 17 pitches last night 11 of them for strikes and remember he had five days in between his last appearance before going back to back one offering swing and a miss but he went to the slider and you know what sometimes that it’s what a pitcher will do when their release point with their fast ball is off throw a breaking ball baltista got the slider to get Oh to miss and so we’ll see if they can get Felix back in the strike zone with the fast ball one and one 65 Orioles ninth inning two outs tying run at first here’s a 1-1 fast ball just missed the outside corner a little outside as the fans boo but it was a ball and the count’s two and one outfield plays deep all the way across two and one two outs baltista delivers and this is fouled just below our broadcast position and maybe into the press box below two balls and two strikes [Music] fans at full throat two and two two outs throws an out away from a 6-5 win baltista to sets leg kick and pitch ground ball fouled as Bo Porter the Angels third base coach and we’ll try it again charles would have a chance to go for a sweep tomorrow and this would also be their 21st win in their last 27 games against the Angels two and two two outs the mountain ready here he comes low with a fast ball three and two 99 miles an hour once again three balls two strikes a free ticket would put the tying run at second and then it would put the go-ahead run at first base angels have the bullpen working it’s Kenley Jansen throwing just in case they’re closer 3-2 runner on the move fast ball shot foul again just below us and that is going to bring us to an eighth pitch in this at bat against Logan Oppo 0 for four a ground out a line out a pop out and a strike out 21st pitch of the inning coming for Bautista it’s been a tough ninth 65 Orioles leading it as he tries to put it away three and two runner goes again and it’s hit in the air down the right side this will make it into the stands foul as it goes back eight to 10 rows with Lauriano coming over oh he was late on another fast ball mostly fast balls one split and one slider from Baltista to Oh here’s a 3-2 runner goes again swinging him in he struck him out orioles win the series against the Angels you can book it for the birds on this orange out Saturday as the Orioles win it by a run against the Halos 6 to5 for the Orioles their 21st win in the last 27 they have played against the Angels the Orioles big inning was the six they get backto back homers from Mullins and Sanchez his first home run as a member of the Orioles and while the Angels they end up scoring one in the eighth to make it a one-run game and threatened in the ninth baltista gets it done against LA for the second day in a row and it means tomorrow the Orioles will have a chance to play for a sweep on Father’s Day orioles they win it six to five over the Halos this afternoon when we come back we’ll have a recap on the Orioles radio network hi this is C
