Paul Maurice, Flying Back to Edmonton: Florida Panthers Day After Game 4 Cup Loss

Thursday, the Panthers led 3-0 after the first period on a pair of power-play goals from Matthew Tkachuk and one from Anton Lundell.

Edmonton scored three in the second then took a 4-3 lead late in the third before Sam Reinhart tied it in the final seconds of regulation. Leon Draisaitl won it in overtime.

Sergei Bobrovsky ended with 30 saves.

  1. The one constant is the officials not missing many Oilers penalties in the first unlike for the Panthers, take that equation out and they play fairly even five on five hockey, coming down to goaltending, turnovers, and skilled players.

  2. That game 4 could be in the same level as the oilers vs kings game 4 in the 1st round.. a huge turning point.. both teams so close going up 3-1! But choked

  3. Love the Panthers. But, they choked away Games 1 and 4. Panthers keep talking about 7 games, when they don’t have home-ice advantage. It seems ridiculous. I have a sinking feeling Panther missed opportunities will come back to haunt them. Will McDavid and the Oilers turn Game 5 into a statement game? Will Barkov save the day and the series for the Panthers?
