Torts didn't think Courtier was worthy of being named Captain and that started the rift between coach, management, and the players. Nothing in this interview swayed my belief Torts was right
Coots is a 60+ point player next year, you heard it here first… Torts was clearly using him wrong. Shaw gave us the older-style Coots, let the man play! He can score too, we don't need him to just worry about D.
Big loss for the Flyers by not keeping Brad Shaw as he is now going to be an assistant with the NJ Devils.
Best of luck to Shaw!!
Totally agree with you Jason on not going after Mariner as he is not a right fit for the Flyers.
Demko is good but not able to stay healthy so the Flyers should also pass on him although they needed a goaltender who can stop the stoppable shots.
Trade Ersson and two 1st and two 2nd round picks, for Shesterkin…. lol
I'm of the firm belief that goaltending is a function of the defense in front of them and the system. Marty Turco and Brian Elliott put up outer-worldly great numbers in DAL and STL, but neither were great goaltenders. Turco didn't even get to the NHL until he was 25. I was a huge fan of the Lindbergh and Hextall era, but perhaps their success was aided by having Mark Howe, Brad McCrimmon, Brad Marsh and Doug Crossman in front of them?? Don't pay huge money to go find a goalie.
He (Marner) grew on me the moment I saw him screaming at his team to wake the f up. That's the kind of guy I want
Lappy is not an NHL COACH period sorry for all the that think he is.
I love Lappy! I hope he gets his dream job!
Don't want Marner
