Do Lysell and Marat SUCK NOW?!?!?! + Producer A.J. is BACK AGAIN!!! | Scouching Live 7.49

[Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] good evening everybody it is 8:01 p.m. we are about uh you know a minute late but that’s cool it’s uh March 24th 2025 I am extremely lucky because I have my wonderful co-host back to do all the hard work for me AJ big job big job AJ big boy big boy AJ is back tired yeah you’re tired well do you want me to fill in the people roughly of what of why you’re so tired or do you want to do it because anybody would be tired doing what you’ve been doing recently I would say I can fill it in it’ll be more funny to hear me in a depressed voice uh as opposed to my standard voice where I’m up here AJ might be a bit of an Eeyore tonight but that’s okay you know I’m a bit of a I’m a bit of ass unfortunately I’ll try to be I’ll try to be the uh the piglet of doing the Winnie the Poo yeah so uh anyway I had to work overnights last week I worked from 11:00 p.m. to 7: a.m. and it was brutal and uh my sleep schedule is not great but we move in life and uh I’m here because I love you all and I don’t want you to forget about me that’s the main point I don’t want to be forgot forget about you how’s that possible it’s impossible I just I just don’t see how possible when I went to Medieval Times as a kid I asked the Green Knight if he remembered me after going to a second show and he forgot who I was so it’s possible well true story okay but you see middle medieval times has hundreds of people in person multiple times a day we get about 50 people for two hours at a time time twice a week like the the we’re not Medieval Times just yet you know maybe not today maybe not tomorrow maybe one day no we’re in the Stone Age that’s where we are right yeah we’re in the Stone Age building uh what are the Stone Age buildings in in Age of Empires uh the earliest ones building bu houses yeah you’re building houses yeah maybe a market if you have the money if you have the the gold and the the meat in the woods or the storagee might just have a town center in Age of Empires but anyways anyways uh we’re not we’re not a gaming stream just not yet not yet there um anyway welcome to the show uh AJ welcome back of course to have you back and uh it’ll be just me again on Thursday afternoon so y you get if you if you liked that format uh you know watch this obviously but we’ll see you then and uh we’ll have some we’ll have some me time I should be back to normal after the end of this month because uh my full-time training is done and then they put me to part-time so nice and I have Mondays and Thursdays off so I should be able to do these streams alrighty uh all right we got some stuff to uh get through today it’s uh it’s going to be a good time the first thing I wanted to talk about we’ve been covering it for months uh the world junior under 18 championships another another level complete Spain has won division 2B uh Ed Gonzalez of the French uh fourth division with an excellent tournament this year uh helping the Spanish get themselves uh into group division 2A next year which will contain four of China Great Britain the Netherlands Croatia Italy and Romania so you know we’ve seen great we’ve seen Italy and Great Britain at the World Championships of hockey period and now we’re seeing uh the Spanish of all teams and their junior team going up against countries that have been to the world championships in the past uh so that’s going to be a hoot uh I did watch a little bit of that tournament but wasn’t a whole lot there for me to really write home about but uh you know fun times and uh you know next year we’ll see how it goes Bulgaria relegated from that one um but anyway that’s enough of that uh we we we love Spanish hockey around here but uh the other crazy thing that I wanted to go over was uh the Ottawa ggs uh Canadian US sports hockey some of the more underrated hockey in this country uh if you’re unaware us Sports is our University hockey kind of NCAA level um it’s not not really close to NCAA level it’s not close to NCAA level but it’s the same concept you go to postsecondary education you play hockey these are the Championships it’s like yes if I may to make a comparison the drop off is like the NFL to the CFL yeah I guess you know it’s uh it I mean there are some good players that go to to college and or university in Canada and play like um but this year was particularly crazy uh if anyone’s unfamiliar they just finished up over the weekend I had the pleasure of uh of popping in and out on this final little tournament they had which was hosted in Ottawa and the home team the fifth ranked team in the country the team that was ranked eighth uh at the beginning of February won the whole damn thing uh and they I mean the amazing thing for anyone who’s not aware uh the University of New Bruns the University of New Brunswick of all teams in the country are the Elite of the elite they were undefeated last year and won the national championships they have lost nine games since the pandemic uh out of uh out of four no 114 games they have lost nine of them uh and they lost against the University of Ottawa ggs uh as the ggs worked their way to the final and and won the National Championship also Toronto metropolitan University uh formerly known as Ryerson University here in uh in Toronto defeated Mount Roy in a quarterfinal 54 in the longest us Sports men hockey men’s hockey game in history it went to five overtimes uh and that was a marathon all of those games were streamed on CBC Sports you can go on YouTube and check them out if you want but those quarterfinal games were insane and the final of Concordia versus Ottawa also 32 crazy finish uh to the whole tournament absolutely Wild and the University of Saskatchewan pulls out uh a bronze medal win as well but yeah huge I agree the crowd was unbelievable TD place is it rocks in there um and so yeah unb University of New Brunswick uh they lost two games this year and the third game they lost was a quarterfinal game to the University of Ottawa for the record Ottawa went 19- n this season um for anyone who knows what ELO is Elo is like a ranking tool that a lot of systems use to rank teams and stuff I imagine they I think they use it in chess as well yes ELO yeah right yeah so they use ELO uh the University of Ottawa was uh or Ottawa University was 1686 this season going into the tournament unb was in first almost 200 points ahead of the second place team with 1947 so uh for that to be that big of an upset for a team that went all the way on home ICE to the final won the whole thing crazy crazy story in Canadian uh University hockey which we’ll see where things go with that the next few years but some good CHL players were on that unb team and uh they are pretty stacked and unfortunately couldn’t get the job done this year but uh I do also want to do a quick little thing uh just because AJ is back and this came in the mail over the weekend and I think it is incredible something no I bought myself something but I want to show I’m less excited I’m like the kid I’m like the friend when you’re a child who lives up the road and invites you over to play I already know where this is going you watch you watch me play with my toys and that’s how it goes but check this [ __ ] out check this out so I I I I was the only person who bid on this item at all honestly uh and I’m honestly kind of surprised that I I bid on it and I was like if I win it great I didn’t spend a ton of money on it I’ll survive and if I lose it I lose it but I didn’t want to lose it so if you’re unaware one of the best things the Canadian hockey league does here up in Canada is a fan design Jersey competition and the best designs get worn for a game I believe uh or at least one game of the teams for those jerseys and of all of those teams the Brampton steel heads were one of those teams that had a fan design and I got one I got one check this out look at this that’s cool go go steel heads I mean the logo is unbelievable and the other thing too this is uh for any Vancouver Canucks fans this is a vilmer Alon Jersey and he signed it so your boy has vilmer alon’s autograph on a jersey that I think only got worn once uh and I think it’s his personal Jersey because he’s 6 foot eight I think and this is a size 56 and I I haven’t put this on yet but I will um look at this thing oh this is a disaster I lost my headphones okay we’re back you’re tired I’m taking up air time look at this it’s huge I I’m swimming in this thing but I yeah ignore my orange sweat pants we can’t see them don’t even worry but like I feel like a it’s like a wing suit uh but yeah I just I saw the logo I had to have it it was incredible uh and I I was the only bid on it I wanted to get a Adam zki Jersey but that one got bid on a few times and I thought you would enjoy that one Luke Misa got way out of control really fast Porto Marton obviously was unusually expensive um but in any case I got one bmer alon’s cool it’s gigantic I feel I feel like a little baby honestly in this thing it’s kind of fun now you know how I feel when I wear normal siiz clothes right yeah cuz AJ is actually this tall uh no I’m just or not I’m just the skinniest per one of the skinniest people you will ever meet will knows yeah actually but we we haven’t really you haven’t been on the show since we went to the leaf game in person right y I don’t think no we haven’t I have not AJ had some pretty colorful things to say about certain me of the Toronto Maple leafes I don’t know if you want to get into that but uh that was that was a fun time it’s not PG it’s not PG it’s not yeah it wasn’t really PG but anyway uh I had to do it I love this thing it’s wonderful and uh G Ste head that also get cancelled for fat shaming well maybe honestly maybe but let’s not get into that not not really not not actual it’s just yeah typical hockey arena yelling you know typical hockey arena yelling you know and uh I don’t know I always love going to Leaf games too because you hear people like sassing William neander and I think in that game William neander got a primary assist literally day one uh or like in the first couple minutes and some some idiot behind us is like I hate when he throws the backhead pass like that like you dumbass do you not see what he does yeah it worked Brother come on yes he gives the puck away on one in one in uh 10 yeah attempts I don’t care nine of the attempts make me just burst with excitement if you turn the puck over while looking exciting then you suck yeah if you turn the puck over while being boring then it’s just the nature of the game hence why the title of the video is the title of the video yes the title of the video is the title of the video uh so if anyone obviously living under a rock we are big fans of madus ninov and Fabian lell around these absolutely and they are now teammates and for a time they were line mates they were Lin mates I know I enjo I watched I would I think I watched Mo I watched at least two periods of the game one uh and I watched bits and pieces of the second one where he was playing with they took away they took him off HOV and they played him with zaka lisel that is they played him with zaka andg and he should have had a point just like in his first game he should have had a point he basically does all the work but doesn’t touch the puck somehow and all of it yeah it’s really funny I mean I I’ve said this a few times on the show but I love going to subreddits of these teams and I’m kind of lurking around looking at the chatter and all that stuff and the Bruins fans man God love them they’re their their team is in the gutter things are not going well I did not realize that David pook has almost double the amount of points of the next uh of the next highest scorer on the team especially since Brad Marsha got traded uh that’s pretty wild that’s that’s Ziggy py level numbers if I may say so myself um Zigman py shout out uh but yeah um but anyway way yeah so I was lurking the Bron subreddit over the weekend and watching these games and checking it out and the common sentim sentiment seems to be that everybody on that team kind of stinks except for the two new guys LEL and who’s ninov like a lot of people would have thought a lot of people seem to go man like at least those guys like play like they don’t want to lose but I think it’s gotten to the point where some of the fans are thinking that the team is now on the on purpose we are are tanking to stink and the guys know it level of sadness and despair which is never a good place to be it’s it’s never it’s never good to believe that about your own team but the Bruins also have not been very good they lost seven to2 against the Kings they lost 3-1 against the Sharks and they lost 5-1 against the Vegas golden knights but like you said one of those goals baby and LEL should have had a point should have had a point did his thing uh it’s like his first shift too his first shift he did something so similar where he keeps the puck in the offensive zone yep but he’s a t the tertiary assist which isn’t a thing no it’s not a thing even though he does all the work yep points without a point it’s a thing you know it’s a it’s a thing I believe in uh you know so he sucks because he doesn’t get points that’s yeah so I guess to go to the title of the show both of those players since they he has zero points and HOV has two goals in eight games they both suck now it’s over you know it’s call it a day no no they suck now they suck right yeah they suck now could be good tomorrow maybe yeah maybe but we’ll see you know we’ll see what happens but boy um the Bruins are sad honestly I I I’m okay with it because my boy’s playing that’s true that’s true I just don’t like yeah it was tough watching them especially against the Kings I remember a bit of that like watching for example a guy we’ve I mean we talk about him all the time on the show but watching a guy like Quinton bfield play against the Boston Bruins is hilarious yes yes yes he just he I think he scored one of those goals at least uh and just absolutely sometimes like at at some points just was yeah he scored a goal had an assist um and I think he’s been on a bit of a heater lately yes he has he’s been very good for me in fantasy hockey yeah eight games in his last 10 eight goals in his last 10 uh working his way up to about the same point production as as he had last year but uh I think he’s going to shine in the playoffs but yeah I mean just watching a guy of that caliber just sort of physically just smashing the Bruins to bits when he was on the ice was a lot of fun to watch I guess you could say in a in a in a in a cynical in sadistic way it was It was kind of fun I did not realize that the Bruins only got 13 shots in that game uh so did you see the almost goalie fight I did I did see that uh Fabian LEL had two of those 13 shots so there’s that as well was a minus one so he sucks right he was a dash one so he sucks now right sorry how could I forget oh boy G whiz ignoring uh you know Mason lri minus three Henry Yoki Haru minus three L is good I thought right right he’s good always I don’t know yeah he’s not anything special at the end of the day the Bruins are having a tough time but again we called them probably one of the winners of the trade deadline and honestly watching the brues over the weekend the guys that I loved watching the most are were who’s OV LEL uh even loo a little bit here and there but uh middlest I think Casey middl has done a pretty darn good job stepping in and and playing a pretty decent sized role he played 18 and a half minutes against uh LA and was a was an even plus minus in a 72 loss where guys on his team were a minus three and everything everybody knows plus minus is everything if you don’t have a good plus minus you’re terrible at hockey we all know that you know so uh no but I mean on dry settle from a couple years ago yeah exactly nobody needs his 140 points all that matters is minus yeah I mean well I mean look the Bruins uh they they came away with some good parts uh they extorted the leavs the the future of the Bruins I’m not sure is there yet I mean Jeremy Swan and net has not had a very good year at all he’s been not so good no but he’s Jeremy Swan yes he’s been awesome otherwise and I get the feeling that he’s going to be just fine it’s more about can they add a piece that is going to be like the thing that really when this team fell apart when berson left and he’s a big hole to fill because that’s a number one franchise Center who was the guy for years and years and years years and that’s probably the hardest position to replace if not right up there you know well he’s exactly why guys like him are I mean obviously he’s self-evidently why guys like him are so important right like Patrice berson very rarely was among the like League leaders in scoring right like he you never really watched him and went yeah this guy is like you know Conor McDavid or Patrice bers like you know but but you watch B’s not like Patrice berson yeah exactly but you watched you like I love guys like Patrice berson and that’s what because he was exactly the type of player that I think you and I would would love whereas like overall yeah he might not score two points every game but he’s gonna win shifts like every shift he’s out there he’s GNA tilt the game in the right direction right no matter what and so finding guys like that who can do that for 20 plus minutes a night is really really hard and when you lose one it’s really hard to replace them like it’s it’s there there aren’t very many Patrice berson out there and uh what they have now I don’t think is quite that so we’ll see how that goes but but uh yeah watching our boys though Fabian lisel madus nadav any specifics or or is it just that they’re sick because uh they’re the best and the title is misleading yeah they are and I mean I don’t know I’ve been definitely impressed with who’s ninov like I know he hasn’t had a whole lot of offense to him and the and the shot totals haven’t been super amazing but again like he’s a guy where you just sort of sit back and watch him play he goes out there and every shift is just you know driving things in the right direction so much of the time um and and just a guy where like you can see why he was the captain of a KHL team and the captain of his junior team in Russia uh and the captain of the national team at one point before everything went to crap uh you know and so yeah like the offense hasn’t been there for him in Boston just yet but I mean his most common line mates yaka Blau and Elias Lindholm so maybe there should be some level of uh of of offense coming from that but at the end of the day like his defensive numbers are really really really really good uh and I’m really hoping that that he can sort of turn things around and and be a bit more of an offensive output guy because I’ve really enjoyed watching him with with Boston and he’s been getting some decent ice time uh especially mostly even strength minutes you know he’s been on the power play a little bit here and there but not I I wouldn’t really categorize him as a big impact power play guy anyway maybe but yeah I don’t know I really think that over time you’re G to get more out of him because I don’t know I wasn’t seeing much out of the Bruins where I’m going yeah I would I’d rather have this guy on the ice than HOV uh you know there wasn’t a whole lot of that but time will tell I don’t know I don’t know so uh the boys I had uh so for those who don’t know uh I now work on the rod Peterson show a little bit uh so that’s a daytime hockey show on YouTube in Game Plus Canada and Game Plus us and like I I just take the commercial breaks that’s what I’m there to do but I heard a comment that made me cuz they also taken chat questions that reminded me of some of the Crux stuff that we talk about on our show but it’s in all the wrong ways somebody commented in today about how they were beginning to lose faith in the iser plan and okay it’s because there’s too much Swedish on the team and not enough good Canadian boys that are tough physical not enough saskat on too much Stockholm it’s too much Stockholm not enough s that’s all I could think of right but it made me lose my mind because the the reason that that team is ass at times is because of all this bull this BS toughness they bring in in the first place so it was so maddening it was so maddening to hear like yeah we have too much Swedish guys yeah you mean you maybe your best player Lucas Raymond yeah you don’t want that you don’t want that you don’t want the guys that have come in from Sweden I knower German but he came in through the shl it’s like what it just made me laugh and I wanted to share it because it’s a very different demographic he uh Rod brags about the being like like leading uh 55 plus demographic in some way like a male 55 plus demographic right and it’s really hilarious to have to be on work on such different hockey shows yeah I bet I yeah that would be a bit of a whiplash for sure uh I also did not realize just how bad the Red Wings have been since coming back from the four nations break where they have won four games in the in over a month uh Patrick has been good yeah I guess but they’ve lost three of their last four uh they’re two and what is this let’s see two and four five two and eight this month yikes not great that’s awesome I didn’t realize that was happen I thought the Red Wings were kind of like on the up and up a little bit no it is it is flipped to the Canadian teams in the Atlantic well they were they were on a six-game winning streak going into the break and coming out of the break oh no they lost right before it but they won a bunch before the break and all they really have done since the break is lose uh which is unfortunate but are you surprised I mean kinda I thought they were kind of turning the corner but you know yeah kinda a little bit um I I’m assuming I’m assuming you weren’t I don’t know I just kind of feel like they’re very mid team with some really cool players that I like sure but like I don’t know like you work your way from being not so great to being in a playoff position or potentially in a playoff position and then you go on a break and come back and it just kind of the wheels are falling off that’s just unfortunate like oh my God they’re Five Points back of the Habs now yikes yeah I didn’t realize that yeah they’re in they’re in rough man yeah and uh it looks like the Senators are getting close to finding their way into the playoffs they’re four points up on Montreal for the LA for the second last wild card spot um 13 games left in the year they got a few games in hand I mean yeah they might yeah we might see the C we’re looking like the senators in the playoffs are quite likely it could be S Leafs it could be s’s Leafs and that would be awesome that would be it’d be awesome for a little bit and then we’d have to see how I feel well then the Leafs would have to you know win they’d have to win that series which I don’t have the energy to talk about it today that’s true AJ AJ you can wave this and we’ll put a pin in it for a later date especially if it becomes more and more likely that Toronto plays Ottawa in the first round but I said it early in the year that’s what I wanted to see at the end of this season if Ottawa was going to make the playoffs and they’re finally going to turn that corner play the Leafs a battle of Ontario for the first time since when was the last time Toronto and Ottawa played in the playoffs it might have been 20 years ago 200000 I don’t remember I I wasn’t watching hockey but wasn’t it like 2003 or something like that probably they did that’s when they that’s the era where they were playing against each other a lot in the playoffs let’s see 20 when I was two years old yeah they played 2004 so since the first lockout it was the first lockout where uh or before the first lockout where well not the first one the 0405 lockout the first one was in the 90s but in 2004 the one that mattered because I lived through it exactly uh the Maple Leafs beat the senators in seven games um but that was an ERA where also the Senators I’m sure that it’s water under the bridge now but they lost to the Leafs in uh three straight seasons and then lost in a fourth after a year where the Leafs didn’t play them so they lost to the Leafs four times in five years um I just want to see it I want to see it because you know I mean especially with the Morgan Riley crosschecking Ridley Grigg in the head thing cuz that just was that was meme fuel for verett her so yeah I’m excited I hope that happens I really Morgan Riley sucks now unfortunately right well that was going to be our topic for next Monday night uh does Morgan Riley suck now um because that’s unfortunate what’s going on there but anyway let him rush the puck please that’s all that’s what but that’s not what the Leafs do the Leafs are the Leafs are back to playing don’t tell me what the leaves do I know what they do they depress me mhm they make me sad they sap the fun out of my team but they’re winning yes and losing to Nashville all at the same time could have been first in the division but no had to lose to Nashville blow a two goal lead and have my uncle say I knew this was coming they still have 12 games to go so maybe there’s hope yeah to face Tampa only 12 Yeah well yeah I mean that’ll be boring Toronto Tampa again lame lame anyways we ready to uh move on to something else because I don’t want to I don’t want to go into it too much man yeah of course uh and that’s it here’s a qu here’s a question uh yeah yeah seven games in how many points with the Carolina Hurricanes does Logan stankoven have oh I should know this is it like four it is four yeah seven games in with the Dallas Stars Z many points right does m ranton have isn’t it zero or is it like two it is not it is four oh excellent I’m just saying one for one would have been enough I think we can say it definitively now door get out of here brother stankoven one for one I mean look proof of the pudding in the eating you know maybe maybe maybe you’ve literally licked the wrapper of the top of the pudding container that’s what it is you know like the jello puddings yes you’ve pulled off the plastic thing or whatever it is on top or the foil thing on top and you’ve licked it that’s that’s the pudding you’ve eaten so far based on this trade but that is how you know for a fact whether it’s chocolate or vanilla pudding or Dolce deche as I found or DOL deche yeah exactly like that’s just how you know what are you going to do Jam a spoon into your pudding and just eat a big glob of it and hope that it’s chocolate or are you says it on the on the package what if you’re blind I don’t know well then how are you finding a spoon to do this in the first place uh maybe you have one on a keychain attached to your pocket yeah okay then how do you find the jello container huh do you also have that attached on your keychain too so sonar like like a dolphin you make clicking noises and you recognize the sound of Reflections off of a Jello pudding container I don’t knowy I don’t know I’m not blind I don’t think I I just glasses yeah I just wear glasses and I have for 20 years now but uh nerd yeah nerd I only wore glasses for a year to correct some eye thing I don’t even remember I was in I still remember the day I realized I needed glasses and it was I was in Latin class and I was sitting in the front row you took Latin class yeah I took Latin in grade 10 or 11 something like that it was actually really good that class was really cool uh e in HTO P Roman EST that’s what I remember that was the opening line of the textbook um something like that something along those lines uh I also remember that quamquam was because that was fun because the fact that quam quam is a word always got me uh but yeah I was looking at the board and I couldn’t read it and then the person sitting next to me in the front row was noticing that I was squinting for half the class they’re like you realize that you shouldn’t be sitting in the front row of a classroom and squinting to see the board right like no one else is doing that maybe you’re right my stupid 15-year-old brain went home and told my parents I was like I think I need glasses like oh we told you playing Nintendo so close to the television was going to make your eyes stinky that’s not what it I can promise you that’s not why your eyesight’s stinky I play played a lot of Nintendo so did I I had glasses before I played Nintendo then I started playing Nintendo and the glasses went away were you one of those were you one of those little children with glasses that were like on an elastic band around their head no I had like this green pair of glasses cuz I was obsessed with the color green as a child oh right you when you’re when you’re on the Spectrum you’re obsessed with things it’s true yeah I I I level with that completely and entirely I obsessed with being first in line at every bus stop I was at as a child it was horrendous for anybody to deal with well that carried into your adulthood I believe yes but only but only in being first in competitions yes or first off the subway that is true that is true yeah those two things competition and getting off the subway those two things are where aj shines in terms of being first I I I do tend to be first on the bus because I know where it’s going to stop so I can get on um cut the line cut the line uh but anyway yes so basically Logan stankoven is the same as M ranton and there’s nothing that can change my mind yeah that’s how we came to this conclusion that’s it easy that’s it uh I don’t even remember what the original topic of conversation was outside of that but in any case I mean honestly there isn’t all that much else to really go over these days for me it’s uh going through as many players as I can before my goal is first week of April to have an updated uh ranking list and then I have to do some work with Puck preps for the 16u Nationals which is going to be a lot of fun in the states uh but yeah I mean almost every league is pretty much in playoff mode now the OHL as someone mentioned in the comments is going into playoff mode uh mostly because of the Brampton Steelheads Jersey and this is what I love about the CHL teams go all in capital letters all in and the first round of the playoffs we’re going to have ashaa Brampton so in your mind think of how loaded those two teams are and how much they loaded up with guys one of them it’s G to end in the first round that’s it it’s gonna be it right let’s go baby support the local team yeah you know what goh steel heads uh I bought the jersey for for a reason vilmer alen come on let’s pull it off uh cuz yeah I did not realize the Kingston Fronton Acts were third seed in the league uh in the Eastern Conference I did not have that on my calendar nor the Barry Colts at two the Barry Colts at two surprised me as well but uh will come on man they got they got the leadership quality that’s true they do they do um but anyway yeah we got some good first round matchups here uh for for the OA L London ow and sound that’ll be interesting um the East does seem quite a lot closer than the West because uh I would definitely put my money on London Windsor kiter and sagona to win all of those series but yes I agree and Brian Stewart uh osua Brampton is g to be a bloodbath I think yeah definitely a real slog um on that note I guess I mean hey AJ unless we’ve got anything else that we want to go over uh we can just jump right into questions take our time go through them you’re tired so I don’t want to make your brain work too hard tonight you know that’s okay I don’t care I’m I’m look listen my eyes are my eyes are closed half of this show but I’m still talking this is this is the energy I am or this is what I do for you this is what I do for all you people just so you’ll just so you’ll remember me cuz that’s all that matters I mean yeah AJ is desperate to be in your minds he’s desperate it’s what he lives for there’s nothing else to him I love being thought about I don’t but only in good ways only in good ways right of course no no bad thoughts Allowed no bad thoughts allowed yeah yeah spoken like a true a true member of modern society um all right well on that note then I guess yeah we can get right into questions we can start answering your draft stuff because uh it’s getting into draft season oh uh I remember where I was we’re going to uh have a ranking out early April that’s going to be a thing we’re working on so I’ve just been cramming as many players as I can uh before the end of the month and then we’ll get to the write up we’re going to do I think two rounds of players who get individual writeups so subscribers will get access to that very quickly so if you want to get early access to that check it out there all right um so we’ll start off because we got a Super Chat thank you very much um oh thank you to the unwashed mime in the chat uh cool name trying to figure that one out uh in my head but that’s okay uh I’ve got picks one and three in a dynasty League it’s points and bangers I don’t know what bangers are bangers is uh like hits blocks oh okay so multiple categories not just points yeah yeah uh from a fantasy perspective who do I take at one schaer Misa hains I mean I don’t think any of them are going to give you huge Banger points um especially Misa I think Haggins has gotten better at it over the course of the season but I wouldn’t categorize that as as his style of play I mean Matthew Schaefer is gonna it’s really hard with Schaefer honestly because he has played so little this Seas season um that I honestly still just don’t have a very good grasp on exactly what I think of him and like what he could be but he doesn’t strike me as this guy who’s gon to go out and score 90 points as a defenseman like I don’t think that’s the case for me out of all of those guys I might go Misa uh especially if that league for whatever reason tracks face off wins or something I could see that being definitely an asset to have um if I’m not I think shots also fall into the category of bangers right so I think if you go with I mean I don’t think any of those are a bad choice but for me I just think Misa has so much on HL upside that that it’s hard to ignore and defenseman in fantasy especially with like a first overall pick I feel like I mean you would probably know better than me but you better be getting you better be getting like an insane insane player right like a really high for is going to have a lot more opportunities to score they’re going have a lot more shots they’re going to give you a lot more generally speaking and not that I’ve seen a ton of Matthew Schaefer but the way you’ve described him to me and watching some of the like the game tape and hearing him like this is not a guy who’s very hit heavy by any means yeah he’s not and not that I’ve seen a lot of him like play him play defense all that much but I don’t imagine he is a guy that blocks a lot of shot and I know that’s hard to track because they don’t do it in the OR at least I don’t think they do I don’t think so no I think you’re right but I feel like Misa is the safest Choice yeah I just don’t I just think it’s pretty clear to see that he’s not going to give you a whole lot of those Banger categories um but I still think it will be very very valuable it’s also difficult like I think we should also we can also revisit this question when we know where these guys are being being drafted like what teams they’re being drafted to because that also plays a point yeah it does or part in it so much of fantasy hockey is deployment based and you need to have guys who get minutes yep so exactly if there’s a clearer path to minutes that might be the best option yeah yeah but Misa is where we lean yes so hope that helps thank you for the donation that’s very kind of you and uh yeah Hopey hopefully that helps it’s a tough year I’ll say in general it’s a tough and you can come back you can donate again if you want but you don’t have to and uh we’ll revisit we’ll revisit it yeah uh okay do you think that Carter Bear’s injury will hurt his draft stock and will it change his rank on your board so for those who are unaware Carter bear severed his Achilles tendon and he’s out for the rest of the season which sucks um and that is a difficult injury to come back from I I what I’ll say is I mean again my knowledge might be a little bit out of date considering the last time I was involved in the sports injuries world but I think if I’m recalling correctly it’s almost more preferable to have a complete tear of of an Achilles because then it can be repaired by surgery very EAS like much more easily and it’s much more straightforward of just like all the whole thing just snapped so we just sew it back together and Rehab from there whereas a partial tear is a little bit more complicated because you don’t want to fully tear so there’s something there that’s a little bit weird I don’t know exactly what happened to Carter bear in terms of like the the volume of of injury we’re talking about here but I mean an Achilles injury is a very serious thing to consider so I would not be surprised if it did cause some issues in terms of where he gets drafted uh especially because I think his back half was a little bit quieter than his than his first half um you know and I I mean I I’ve watched him a bunch this year and I still think there’s a really good all-around sort of NHL Winger there who who just projects really well as a physical you know high energy guy who I think brings a lot of desirable traits to to an NHL lineup but um yeah I mean for me does it knock him down a ton no I don’t think in this draft class it really does uh because I think things open up so quickly that he immediate he very quickly becomes one of the more intriguing and and and just projectable talents to like if he’s there at 20 for whatever reason because teams are spooked you know I think at that point it’s worth the risk based on what you’ve seen and obviously you know in my world of I have spies on the ground then you go and try to get as good and an acccurate uh an image of what’s going on as you can um from doctors and whatever to make sure that you know you’re making a good investment in the player so uh I have hope I I it’s never out of the loop I mean kids heal like freaks a lot of the time so hopefully he can come back from it it’s not impossible um but it is a pretty serious injury you know it’s not a it’s not a broken clavicle you know it’s not a broken arm right like it’s it’s you know your Achilles tendon is under a lot of stress all of the time and uh it’s not good to to to rip that thing up uh I’ll tell you that I’ve never done it myself but generally it’s not the most Pleasant thing in the world but I don’t think it’s a death sentence for a player so I think there’s a balancing act right um there’s a balancing act I think to it so will I went back and actually reread that uh Super Chat question the person also has the third overall pick oh and third so it might make sense to go schaer and then just take whatever Center Falls to you true but I think me is still the best player so it’s just how you want to approach it if you end up with Misa Haggins what’s the worst you know it’s not so bad they’re probably going to score a bunch or if you end up with schaer Haggins right because you’re like okay I’ll just let one of the other one whichever Center comes back like fall to me sure you could do that too you know that’s true I yeah I think in no matter what combination you can make an argument for it this year and you’ll end up with two good players fantasy upside is just like I said I think you’re right like it really depends on the team it really depends on on you know like if Chicago’s drafting Matthew Schaefer he’s their top power play guy probably for sure uh very quickly you know or at least on their power play yeah is still probably going to score them Honestly though I still think iGo Misa because I feel he’s he’s going to score more points yeah and that’s kind of what matters ultimately MH okay uh have you watched much of Ryan rub if so where would you rank him if he was a couple weeks older and eligible for this year’s draft so actually uh I’ve seen rubrick a few times I’ve gone to Niagara a few times this year and seen him there uh and I’ve seen him in passing during the season a lot um I I like him I think he is a bit of a limited player in the way that he plays like when I look at him I see a guy that kind of reminds me a little bit of like Patrick l where it’s like not the most amazing play driver not going to give you like an enormous amount in his own end from what I’ve seen which again is not I don’t I don’t really focus too much on next year’s class at this point but I’ve seen rub over the last two years here and there a decent amount um you know like he’s an amazing finisher like his shot quality and and the size that he has and how quick he can get his shots off really impressive like I can see why he’s scoring so much uh it’s just a matter of like the diversity in his game that I think is a little bit lacking um that kind of limits him to being more of this like finisher and and and a bit of a more limited scope down the road but obviously that doesn’t mean anything’s impossible like would I take him over a guy like you know rer Lee maybe probably yeah um I could see him somewhere in the top 20 maybe something like that towards the back end of that uh I I mean things open up real quick and yeah I feel like in that range that’s kind of where I would like would I take him or a Brady Martin I think you could have that discussion or uh you know but I don’t know about taking him over a bill Zin or or a Cameron Schmidt or rim merka or jakeob Bryan like I’m not sure about that at this point but uh solid player really good finisher but I think I think I see a little bit of like a Patrick l style player there um and I like Pat L but yeah just as a matter of like you know it does he bring as much to the table as as I would like to see out of what people have been talking about as like a topend top top draft pick for next year um were you able to take a look at Yanni Newman yet yes I was Jay I actually did look at Yanni Newman uh and I I I honestly when I saw this question before the show I had to go back and I put on a little bit of the game against Edmonton as well just to jog my memory again um I mean yeah I I I think Yanni Newman has played okay in the NHL like I think he’s a guy who I’ve always liked him you know and I think he plays very similarly now uh that he than he did in in Sweden or Sweden in Finland um you know he’s a guy who is very big he’s quite strong on his feet he’s a good Puck protector uh and he’s a really good shooter and he’s been doing that in the NHL you know he’s got some good opportunities he uh sprung uh kakle on a on a breakaway for an assist the other night as well which was kind of a nice little play there um you know but but he’s again kind of a bit of a limited uh NHL player right now which I mean he’s very young so not unexpected but in terms of his job like I could see him being a good sort of middle six pressure absorbing Winger who can shoot the puck real well go to the net you know um he does what is very important in the NHL quite well which is keeping guys away from the puck you know protecting it with your body playing that sort of physically resilient style of play that you know if you’re not the fastest or most agile or most skilled player in the world you can kind of get away with in the NHL if you are that sort of rock on skates who’s hard to move and hard to knock off and good at putting themselves between the puck and and and a Defender so there’s a lot I think that he brings to the table that that works just fine in the NHL um so yeah he’s been solid I wouldn’t say he’s like incredible in like this Revelation for Seattle but uh like watching him with a capaco for example you got I mean that’s not too bad looking those guys like that I think Seattle yeah they’re kind of not really in playoff contention I think there’s a lot to like about where Seattle’s going because they’ve got a lot of real good players lying around and U maybe there’s a trade in the offseason where they maybe you know Focus their assets a little bit and maybe land a big fish of some kind uh I don’t know who that would be because I feel like Seattle’s there’s a lot cooking the the the the chili is simmering but it’s not quite done yet the octopus stew is boiling the octopus stew is boiling uh but it’s not you know it’s not there yet but they’ve got a lot of pieces they got a lot of toys There and Newman is one of them what do you think of gensel as a player comp for Misa I think there’s more to Misa I I mean gensel is a Winger right uh and I don’t see Misa as a Winger in the NHL at all uh unless you’re talking about Luke um but I assume you’re talking about Michael M just don’t see it yeah I don’t see it Michael Misa to me I I think someone in the chat mentioned this last week but someone mentioned him in uh in reference to Joe sack and I thought that was pretty apt at the time and I had actually I don’t know if I mentioned this on the show but I actually by coincidence was this is what I do and I’m not lying I was up one night watching bits and pieces of the 2002 gold medal game between Canada and the US and Salt Lake City at the Olympics I can confirm this he does stuff like this all the time where Joe sakic was playing in that game and watching him and then like two days later seeing someone in the chat be like you know Michael Misa this might sound crazy but does kind of remind me a little bit of Joe sack I I went back after I answered that the first time and went I want to see that again like see and I think there’s a lot of that there like similar to how when I looked at Adam Adam fan Tilly and saw Mike madano uh you look at a guy like Michael Misa and yeah there’s a bit of Joe sack there where yeah not the most physical guy in the world you’re not gonna get Keith kachuck you know that’s not his brand of hockey but you’re going to get a a guy you can’t really live without right like a guy who moves the puck extremely well isn’t slow really good skating stride gets around the ice really effectively you know elevates everyone he plays with uh and can be a number one Center surrounded by pretty much anybody and he’ll make them better based on how he plays especially if he has someone who can sort of cover the more physical and and and and quick part of the defensive side of the game in in the defensive Zone in the NHL so yeah I think that that’s I mean obviously it’s High Praise and like a high bar but in terms of like style of play I think there’s a bit of that there with Misa and I mean he’s been spectacular this season he’s he’s been he’s I he’s scored 62 goals this year you know he been gross and uh finished the year with 134 points uh which is among the better Seasons we’ve seen in a long time I mean Conor Bard obviously had uh a a bananas it’s the best season I think I’ve seen at at this point uh in my work like in terms of relative to the team they’re playing on and and just raw output like I think what did I’m Googling I’m looking at now yeah 143 points in 57 games with 20 points in the playoffs for Conor Bard that’s gross yeah it was insane and uh so Bedard had 71 goals that year um that’s in the dub which is League than yeah not easy but I mean Michael Misa I think very different style of player than than Conor Bard for sure uh honestly there are metrics that you could look at with Misa that are better than what I had on Bard back in the day um but no I mean at the end of the day that was kind of an interesting comment that came in that that now has me using my bra which is rare I don’t use my brain using your brain in a different way in a way you yes a different way changing gears you use your brain just not to its full capacity unfortunately yeah it’s true um what 2025 prospects have shown the most improvement from the start of the year to now that’s a good question there’s a lot of them honestly like the first few months of the year it was I thought things were pretty bleak like it was rough out there but a lot of guys I think have really improved this year like like Anton fondell has come a really long way especially since being put on the wing uh I think that that’s really unlocked a lot of positives in his game um James Haggins I think has gotten you know obviously the point production people are a bit a bit concerned but I look at Haggins and I still see a player who I think has taken some time but has really sort of gained a good handle on NCAA hockey and filling in some gaps in his game that he had early in the year uh who else would I put in there um I mean Ben Kindle kind of flipped a switch after the top prospects challenge against the ntdp and he’s been B Bonkers since then um but I don’t I wouldn’t say he’s like consistently improved as The Season’s gone on uh Jacob Bryan I feel like his second half has been in my viewings a lot better than the early ones uh I’ve liked Brady Martin a lot more in the last few games I’ve seen him than early in the year that’s a change of heart that’s a change of heart for sure to Sten Ellis no never no he’s still G to tell him he sucks now exactly yeah yeah that’s what I think of Brady Martin exactly no I’m kidding uh but I do have Brady Martin right in line with the average now so there you go it took a little while but I’ve I’ve come to terms with what he brings to the table but I still think he’ll be drafted before I would take him uh um but anyway uh who else I mean yakabe wnc has looked a lot better as The Season’s gone on uh who else Quinn Bain LJ Mooney looks way better in the last few weeks that I checked in on him than he did when he was injured and before the injury and and immediately coming back from it he’s looked a lot more fun I think he’s still a big long shot but still a guy who I would bet on easily uh who else um there’s been a lot of them though like that that’s kind of the big takeaway is this season it’s started off a little bit sketchy and questionable and you know month after month after month it’s slowly become a little bit more more gooder it’s been a little bit more gooder you just love slipping in that nonsensical word yes of course of course I do gives you a good feeling than you would normally have yeah I agree uh Alex cherick and Jet luchenko going to the AHL is a fun development that is a fun development cool um yeah the G storm finished it dead last in their conference um they were one of the more entertaining teams this year for me to watch I would say uh but yeah the GU storm are done and that means guys like l katson no more hockey for him uh but Alex chernick and Jet lenko going to the AHL is good uh yeah I mean I love chernick a lot um the Lehi Valley Phantom Phantoms now they’ll have some of my some of my guys who I’ve really liked on that team lenko and cherick but gendron’s been good there he’s scored a bunch of goals for them this season um that’s all I remember uh let’s see here but yeah I mean some fun players coming down the pipe for uh for for the Philadelphia Flyers hopefully I I I mean I imagine the London Knights are going to go on a deep run but Denver Barky is uh is is on his way Alexis gendr second most goals scored on the team this year not bad for a 20-y old 21y old kid uh with 18 goals this season second most on the team um so good for him let’s see yeah 21 just turned 21 in December good for him but yeah uh I I like cherick a lot he was a late first round pick for me uh so yeah and luchenko yeah I’m a fan uh Jeremy what’s going on my I’m assuming cuqua friend uh very merry uh very merry election season to you uh if you’re in Quebec I mean hopefully fingers crossed it would be very strange if you weren’t but or or in like the states or something but anyway election season is almost Upon Us federally as well it is upon us we are we’re in it now uh so get ready for that uh but anyway uh Jeremy’s asking when we’re doing a geoguesser stream maybe Thursday when AJ is not here and it’s uh it’s kids table time and I like geog guesser dude I watched the geoguesser World Finals that happened last year last night just just while I was making dinner I threw it on and while we were eating we were like on the edge of our seats watching this thing these guys man these people are nuts to say the least but also it was a great it’s a great esport like I would if I had the money which I don’t yet not yet but if I had the money I would sponsor the league very quickly it was so cool and it is a really great format of and it’s such a simple idea that I think anyone anyone can grasp exactly how it works so quick right and and I thought it was so cool uh it was and and it got more and more intense as time went on like the the the the Damage Done based on how far off you were or how much closer your opponent was got way more powerful as the as the match went on uh they did multiple different versions so one of them was straight geoguesser plops you somewhere you move around the map you can zoom you can look around and then you place your pin the next round was you can’t move around the cam you can move around the camera but you can’t move down the roads and then the last round was no movement at all it was just a static image and they had to pick where they were on the map it was nuts um so highly highly recommend checking that out but I would love to do a geoguesser themed show because I love geoguesser it’s a lot of fun and honestly I just paid for another yearly subscription by accident because I forgot to cancel mine from last year so now I have it for a full year uh get some get some use yeah get some use out of it and if I do it enough on the show it’s a write off you know it’s it’s a write off for the business because I’m doing it for my professional work right just open it twice every stream I could literally call myself a professional geoguesser player because I a professional I I can call myself whatever I want it doesn’t have to be true all right fine you know you you you do fraud the way that the people without accountants in their families do fraud exactly yeah exactly my family just takes care of it because we’re Italian we don’t commit any fraud okay it is just a joke please I I I don’t I don’t want anybody to have any wrong ideas about it any misconceptions about your family yes they are not monsters all right I promise yeah we’ll we’ll boot up a boot up some geoguesser because it’s nice and easy and it’s fun and whatever but anyway good good thought would you rather have the Stenberg brothers or the Eckland Brothers uh very good question probably the ekins brothers yeah probably the ekims but Evar is the best one probably out of all of them Evar Stenberg is gross oh okay but I think you still go with the ecklands the two Eckland boys or yeah William will uh skate around like no other and Victor will try to run over whichever Stenberg brother has the puck so and I don’t think either Stenberg brother is really going to do much of that so yeah I probably go with the with the ekins um every podcast I heard reporting on expansion complain about watering down the talent pool I’m not buying it I think guu will get a chance will rise to the competition I agree I think that that’s so silly I mean it’s obviously obviously if you double the size of the league that would be problematic in like one year but I mean we the the NHL has expanded in my lifetime unbelievable amounts like I I think when I was born there were 21 teams or something like that 22 teams um and since I’ve been like a sentient human being who’s watched hockey like that was a couple of years before Nashville came along and people said the same thing then about Nashville and Atlanta and Columbus and Minnesota all coming into the leag within five years I think of one another so and the league is better than ever honestly I I I don’t know I think I think at the end of the day it really just comes down like look I had this thought in the shower the other day honestly and like this is not the the all this talk about like the honor of the game and like we can’t do this because oh like there’s not going to be enough good players and it’s going to this like somehow some sort of sham but it’s like what what are we doing like what business are we in here right it’s not it’s not the Olympics you know where I mean obviously there’s a ton of money to be made in the Olympics but it’s not like the NHL is a business and so do we want the NHL to be successful yeah I would think oh yeah and and having more and having more teams gives you more opportunity to be successful and make more money so that’s good well I said teams in Arizona sadly no talk about that they’ll come back and they’ll be good they better come back because Arizona and hockey ASU on its own is a great story in hockey for weird hockey places and it all that all that good willll that ASU has built and all that positivity and everything about the sport in that area you can’t just not have an NHL team there after having one like it’s just anyway whatever uh you know it’s like the team set the table and then went out to buy milk from the convenience store and never came home and then the kids are just eating this nice meal at home yeah and like Dad never came home it’s like someone’s got to come home at some point right like you didn’t you set the table you did everything you did so much and now you’re gone mhm so anyway whatever I I I’m I’m off I’m off track TR here’s the thing that bothers me about expansion Beyond 32 teams playoff formats I like the roundness of 32 it’s just perfect it splits into 16 half the teams make half the teams Miss that’s I’m not a play I I probably could become a playin guy but uh the more rounds for my team the worse off I feel about it so I have a bias that way I I think if I Were King of the world I make the NHL season 80 games I if you add more teams you already if you add more teams you replace those two with a playin uh and if you’re going to add more teams you just I because again people go I I think it’s just that people don’t like change right like I think people just go ah no we can’t do that cuz but think about it I don’t like change and that’s why I don’t could you imagine could you imagine for the last playoff game or for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference the Ottawa Senators and the Montreal Canadians play a best of three it would be insane you know what it’s probably better off that it is that way it’s just my brain likes 16 make 16 Miss and then the even split all the way through fair enough fair enough but I uh I I I don’t know I guess my whole point revolves around like the NHL is a business and how do how do you sell the business right like it’s not like there’s no limit it’s not like there’s a rule and it’s like the business won’t be successful if we have more than 32 teams like it’s up to the owners to make their product marketable and sell tickets and sell merch and sell all these things so the only thing that would prevent the NHL from being even more successful than it already is with more teams in the league is ownership that just doesn’t bring in the people like that’s that’s it so to me if you want to have 40 teams in the NHL I don’t care as long as the ownership is competent enough to like have them be successful and as long as none of those teams added are Canadian teams it’s got to all be American teams all Americans yeah Houston D Fort Worth you put a team in Dallas in Fort Worth uh Jacksonville uh uh Kansas City we don’t need a Jacksonville team we got two Florida teams already I think de Mo needs a team uh now now you’re just full of baloney now I’m full of Bologna bologa bologna uh but yeah I mean I don’t know I think I think also if you I mean I wouldn’t do this but if you add eight more teams to the NHL the potential for a guy like Conor McDavid to go on a run to like 160 points and like that drives attention to the sport like yeah if there’s more talent in the league and there’s a wider disparity between Conor McDavid and the worst player in the NHL okay so he’s gonna score more honestly I don’t feel like the worst player in the NHL disparity is going to change by let’s say you add two more teams I don’t think so either I honestly don’t think it’ll change that much either I don’t think it changes at all period no and also how do you even evaluate that right like what is the how do you do that it’s more about the top end guys being dispersed uh not like being disp like not even dispersed unevenly it’s just we even have this problem now where we talked about it earlier with Boston their number one franchise Center butri berer on left and look what they are now yeah and it’s hard to replace those players so I think the biggest negative or the drawback is that there’s more teams who could potentially take that that Talent who could take that player away from you but that’s it top that’s a problem yeah like if you’re looking for super teams then it makes super teams bordering on Impossible right because the best player it already is right yeah and then hockey yeah I mean look at Toronto they have the closest thing to a super team and they still can’t win so I wouldn’t say they’re well they have a bunch of young players all being paid eight figure salaries and they haven’t won anything thing so you know anyway but the point is uh I don’t I I if you want to expand the league personally I don’t care like I think it’ll sort itself out and anyone talking about it and complaining about the talent issues it’s like I think you’re just arguing with your feelings rather than like just going I don’t know more teams means more money which means you know more salary go up the salary cap goes up and if it means scoring uh you know hot more expensive TV contracts with more of a market to sell to um it’s it’s if and it’s on ownership then to make the teams worth investing in and worth playing for uh which that there’s nothing you can do to control that right and I think that that ownership quality is a much more bigger is a much bigger question mark when it comes to expansion than like the quality of the league because now I would argue in my life time of watching hockey I would say the NHL probably has never been better like in terms of the the the quality of the game on the ice and like it has not I can promise you that it has never been better period and all you old people who get mad at me you’re wrong yeah like it’s great and and the the social media quality from the NHL has gotten better and uh the way that they’re selling the game and I mean how many people have you seen on I mean maybe I’m just a degenerate but like on social media or YouTube or something reacting to hockey for the first time or watching hockey for the first time and they’re like sucked right in you know it’s a sport that sells itself as long as you put it in front of people and like give themselves something to look at right like it’s it’s not it’s it’s kind of right there so uh anyway it’s uh it’s it’s I I don’t know I don’t think it really matters at the end of the day but if you have a crappy owner then yeah it’s an embarrassment and it’s sad and it wouldn’t work but whatever I think that’s the bigger issue than than than thinking about expansion as like a talent dilution tool um but I mean I see your point about the elite players being spread out more evenly which may cause more parody I guess like too much parody I suppose but we get too many Seattle Krakens yes which oh well uh do you think Jimmy snugger rude can make an impact for the blues this year uh I mean yeah rip though that’s the other thing right now they are on a rip won six straight yeah I mean I think snuggerud could jump into the NHL and play like a complimentary offensive role like he’s a he’s a guy who is a really really really really really good finisher in the offensive zone especially and you know I think St Louis has some guys on the team that can sort of Drive the Bus and insulate him a little bit and I’d give him a go I don’t know I’ve never been the biggest snugger rude guy but I at least can respect his ability to score and I think that in the right surroundings he could be an NHL player uh but again with anyone coming out of college in my opinion it’s not worth rushing pretty much anybody unless you’re like absolutely positive right like I don’t know I like look at Chicago with Frank Nar right like they sent him to the AHL he took some time to get his legs going but now he’s worked his way up to the NHL and he’s been pretty good um so you know with a guy like snuggerud especially because it seems pretty common that St Louis is taking their young guys and not really shoving them directly into the NHL as soon as possible you know like I don’t think they’ve done that with anybody maybe Jake neighbors but I think most by and large their guys have spent some time in the AHL first um so yeah I I don’t know I expect him to be an NHL player of some kind at some point and maybe he gets a few games but I also think that like you said if St Louis is in playoff contention and they’re really making a push they might give him a game or two or something but I don’t think it would be the primary focus to be like all right we got this new guy from college and let’s put him in the room and put him on the ice and put him here and put him here and whatever because you know if you’re trying to make the playoffs that can be I don’t know it’s hard if I’m not if you’re not in the room it’s hard but yeah I’m also going to take this opportunity to say that as much as I like to pride myself and how right I am about certain things like the Florida Panthers being the Stanley Cup champions last year I was very wrong about the St Louis Blues this year so I’m going to take a moment to eat my crap in this just cuz I like being honest and if I put something out into the world and say that they might be the worst team in the Central and then there are two way clearer worse teams I think I’m allowed to call myself out and you guys are allowed to call me out on it so I just want to be honest that I was very wrong about it and I was wrong about Jordan Bennington in uh the uh in the for nation’s face off I don’t understand how honestly with the police I don’t I don’t know how maybe it’s that Craig barui isn’t there ruining the decor maybe that’s what the secret sauce was how does this affect the leaves no but I’m serious like that’s like that Decor caused me so much pause at the beginning of the year I just thought oh of course so bad I thought it’s not yeah that’s that’s really what got to me it’s like and I think they’re they’re older and they’re just like not going to put it in place but I think I didn’t give enough credit to Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrie even though I like them those guys are great players they are great players they are excellent those are great players yeah so I think I should have leaned in a little more on that side of things but right yeah I just I don’t know I was there with you I don’t know you know we’ll see what happens long term with St Louis but but I doing well now I was wrong I’m I’m going to I’m going to take I’m going to take the the L on that take the take the poop yeah but take it I’m I’m generally right about things I think I think right generally right AJ a generally right a generally right person a generally right yeah uh is it time to oh boy all right J M is here this is an important question this is very very very important for passionate subscriber is it time to worry about and is zero points in 36 games this season over Conor Lee I think I think he definitively sucks yeah I think Connor Lee might not be it unfortunately unfortunately uh for Conor Lee uh yeah I mean oh boy and zero points in 15 bchl games this year too I didn’t realize he came to the bchl and still couldn’t score he’s bad he’s worse than Fabian Get Wrecked J M yeah clear the bar before you take a dump on my boy Conor Lee is a bit of a meme you know of course the Manchester Maniac but uh yeah I think it might be J for Connor Lee at least for now you know we’ll see what happens maybe he goes back to Penticton next year but uh man there was a time there was a three-hour period in my life where I went oo nope three hour period of my life yeah uh speaking of Brampton the first round with aswa is going to be great yeah we talked about that because it’s going to be sick dalbor dorski made his St Louis Blues debut last night we’ve had another year to analyze him do you think he caps out as a second liner or do you think he ends up a Top Line guy I mean I I think you should set your expectations lower than that I think you better calm down a little there and I mean lower than second line Center I watched him last night I did not think he was amazing but it his first NHL game he played 9 Minutes of course whatever but I also have always just been skeptical of dorski as an NHL player I think I I always always have felt the same about him where it’s like I could see him being a third line NHL Center who can score on the power play if you put him on a Faceoff dot you know like I I always felt that was kind of how his game translated to the NHL uh I thought he was okay last night but he wasn’t like a worldender but who knows the St Louis Blues have been defying expectations maybe I am wrong um but I’ve watched a lot of dorski over the years and I have never thought first second line guy in the NHL do you remember my nickname for him in his draft year no doring oh right doring right because he did nothing when I watched him he literally did nothing yeah I uh he’s a Scott Lon type of player that is that is kind that kind of the way I felt about him he can shoot he can shoot hockey that’s actually Fair he’s Scott lton with a shot he is a very good shooter but yeah and no Stak buying no stake buying from what I know right uh yeah so we’re talking about the Bruins lurking Reddit hockey discussion is trash I agree it Reddit in general is trash uh but I would also argue it might be among the least trash of the social media Services out there uh you know like it’s not awesome but like what is more tolerable name one that is more tolerable to Doom scroll on uh because you can Doom scroll on everything exactly but a lot of it is intolerable now right like instag Discord our Discord server in specific is well yes uh yeah please subscribe to our uh our our our our site and you’ll get a Discord invite and our Discord is good to Doom scroll um you get all kinds of fun stuff in there but it’s not that doomy though to be fair no it’s not it’s it’s actually quite positive and uh enabling exactly this is what I mean this is the most positive place to go is our Discord it is the whole internet the whole internet it is the best place to be it’s one of them it’s one of them the whole internet because dark well of course even the dark web I think I I think that’s self-explanatory maybe not what do you mean maybe not something that needs to be said but on the entire internet all the tubes of the internet it’s the best all the tubes of all the tubes in the Internet it’s the best one so get in there join us I we will we will talk to you I promise I swear I swear to God we’ll talk to you I do I do I just haven’t recently because job I know yeah because job I I I’m in there all the time I know you are I have a dedicated monitor right below my my this monitor dedicated for that specific use because that’s how good it is do you have a dedicated monitor to all of my messages I send you like when we’re in conversation doing episodes cuz you probably could probably but I mean I I have it just sitting open to nothing I don’t look at it really yeah that’s why you’re like oh a is just messaging me okay I’ll leave this open so I don’t get all these notifications and then you miss stuff that I write because I said you like nine messages yes you’re the only person I send nine messages to as well well that makes sense cuz we work together right so check out uh does James Haggins concern anyone else he was moving mountains at the start of the year but he’s petered out as the year has gone on I would say the opposite I don’t I thought he was pretty underwhelming at the beginning of the year um I so maybe maybe maybe James Haggins was so good at the under 18s last year because he was playing with Teddy stega maybe you should consider that um who scored the world junior winning goal World Junior winning goal yeah who predicted that who predicted that to toot my own horn this is the things I’m generally right about yeah you remember being in the call right I was there I was there I said it’s going to be Teddy sea and it Y and and I was right I was right that’s all that matters I was right yep yep yep yep uh but anyway I mean yeah so with James Haggins I mean I think a lot of it with me he’s a three for now and I mean I could see a world where he goes even later than that uh but I still think he’s a really really really good player I just think he’s been surpassed by 07s right like Michael Misa has another year in Junior and schaer is now in his second year of junior heggins is like a year older than than schaer for example and I think that gave schaer a lot of time to develop and play catch up with Haggin and I think haggens is natural playing style had a bit of trouble translating to college hockey and he’s a guy who I think leans much more in the playmaker world but he does have a pretty good shot like his wrist shots quick it’s accurate um there’s lots to like about him as a finisher but I find his most impressive moments are are sort of playmaking and working the puck in transition and and setting plays up in the offensive zone um but yeah he is a little bit small and I think that the physicality in his game wasn’t really there at the beginning of the year but I think grown um but I do think that he does have a little bit of limitations in his game that separates him from guys like Mis schaer but I think like the freakouts number one people like losing their mind a little bit number one you know again you gotta keep things in perspective and be reasonable with players right like a point a game freshman in college hockey with the number one rank School in the country is not a small achievement that is really good and quite unusual like not every guy is going to be Jack eel or uh even well Logan [ __ ] wasn’t even in University in his draft eligible year uh Adam Fant Tilly right like not everybody is like that and I don’t see Haggin on that same level as a as a Fant Tilly but I don’t see him is that much further back either um would I take Victor Eckland over him probably not but it’s close Porter Marton is in that tier as well would I take Marton over him probably not but it’s close but for me I think a solid three in this class right now for me is is where I have him I don’t I don’t I wouldn’t say he’s been dominant but he hasn’t been as underwhelming as he was at the beginning of the year I don’t think but he also hasn’t been bad like at all I’ve never sat back and gone wow what is happening here right like he’s still a very very very very talented player I think is matured a lot this year do you think he has the most potential to fall on draft within the top end guys because of his he’s small yeah uh his production has been a little bit underwhelming um and there are guys that will play at the under 18s who will probably get a look or play later in the year than he will that will get more recency bias in their favor other guys who I think NHL teams might think project better to be centers um Jake o’ Bren comes to mind Brady Martin comes to mind uh Caleb Dane ya comes to mind like there are players and again like think about what happened last year right like nobody knows what the actual draft order is going to be and if you show what the 2025 draft order looks like on this stream right now we’re probably gonna think things are psychotic and out of control right like it’s gonna be very different be psychotic and out of control like it always is there are always players there are always players that in the last three weeks just rocket up everybody’s boards because there’s more leaks coming out of NHL teams and they go oh you know teams like this guy so I’m going to bump them up a lot blah blah blah and next thing you know you have got I don’t know Beck at senica going third overall or Tyler bue going 10th overall or whatever right like crazy crazy Tyler bue was way more nutty yes it was even more nutty but you know what I mean considering they left a certain someone on the board anyway Logan stankoven Oh Boy anyway oh am I wrong no you’re not you’re not wrong at all but I mean everybody teams pass St like three times they left uh they left uh by a Johnson off the board well he didn’t play he played like three games that season you know who would have been a suitable 10th overall pick from the US NTD well actually no he wasn’t on the US ntdp program but he’s American Born Matthew nice well yes we’re not here to re reassess the 202 the crazy because yes we are because because in in the playoffs I don’t have any confidence in my team this year to do anything so I need all the pot shots at Ottawa just in case miserable right just in case just in case I need to get them all in now before I get railed with stuff about how bad my team is and blow it up and we’re gonna we’re going to see pictures of Mitch Marner sitting outside six points cough like Starbucks again I I knew right I knew as soon no as soon as I saw that photo like oh barui and Marr have gone out for a coffee oh that’s six points that’s right down the road for me nice right well you live where the Leafs live confirmed you’re that kid well but the leaves also play on like so I live they practice around you kind of yeah I live off of Kipling and they’re they they practice that on Kipling yeah the Master Card Center no it’s the Ford performance center oh the Ford performance center right I went to high school no no it was the Master Card Center when I went to high school down there but not at LCI at Father John Redmond I was not Ford Ford came to the table and offered more money anyway not not Doug but the American car company but yes I mean to answer your question I could see a guy like aan slipping on the board a little bit because guys might go is he going to be a highend NHL player and maybe come to the conclusion the answer to that might be no uh I agree with that I don’t think so yeah they might think he’s soft right but I would argue he’s gotten less and less soft over the course of this season from what I’ve seen him but we’ll see you can’t take the soft at a soft unfortunately no you can’t you can’t spell soft without soft he can’t take the soft out of Sweden but he’s American even though he’s American you got it it’s uh somehow it’s scandinavia’s fault that he’s soft basically is what you’re saying yeah yeah got it if the Blackhawks fall to four Misa schaer and Marton off the board should they still take Hain with the concerns or would a frondel or O’Brien make more sense see this is what I mean uh if I’m Shin if I’m Chicago and you again you have an opportunity to pair a Connor Bard with a James Haggins if you say no to that like after saying no to an Ivan demidov I could say I could see why you I could see why you might would want a guy like frondell maybe even O’Brien in there I could see it I understand where you’re coming from and then trade down at least a little bit yeah I mean frondell maybe because like he but I just feel like you’d be saying no like you’re G to get a good player in frondell right like I we talked about this with M on Thursday right like there’s no disputing that he’ll be some kind of NHL player like I think he’ll be a very very very good middle six Winger who plays the right way so to speak right like plays that playoff physical you know offensive zone game that you really really love um but is like the James Haggins like I wouldn’t pull him out of college right away and I feel like you give him some time with the skill level he’s got you know give him some time and whatever like I would only really consider that if he just interviewed really poorly and you love those other two guys and and there’s just some Vibe about them where you’re like yeah we just think he’s a better fit for the team um obviously I don’t know if that’s the case or whatever but on paper I look at Chicago and I go what’s the key issue in Chicago right like obviously their defense group is very very young and not amazing but up front they’ve got Bedard and that’s been about it really like that’s they don’t have much else in terms of offensive Weaponry that’s like really sort of highend and they said no to demidov last year and if they get an opportunity at a guy like James Haggins who has the skill level and the offensive output and the uh hopefully budding levels of physicality that you need out of a forward in the NHL then you pair that guy with Conor Bard NB is setup man or Bard is his setup man and I think those two guys would work really really well off of one another uh Misa Patrick Kane Eric Lindros the last three always yge to score at least 60 goals in their draft year among first rounders yeah I mean that’s pretty good company um I would also argue that Misa did it extremely impressively where it wasn’t put me out on the power play for two minutes and not two minutes at a time and just tea me up in the faceoff Circle right like that’s not how he scored his goals he scored his goals by scoring goals like multiple different ways you know Finding space in the offensive zone uh doing all kinds of things that you need a scoring forward to do uh in a in in the NHL to score in a variety of different ways which I think I love to see that kind of thing like if you watch highlights of him scoring goals a lot of the time you might be there going like well I know that’s not like a elite skill level or an elite shot that’s there or something but I still like he he finds a way he he’s so smart and finds a way uh okay everything good yeah yeah we’re good uh just thought something was weird um unlike the Leafs who need more Oliver Ekman Larson on their team yeah that’s obviously the case is there a redeeming quality to Roger McQueen’s game uh sure I see the raw tools but I don’t see anything in his game that makes me think he’ll make a difference in the NHL what am I missing with him um okay well you consider he’s gonna get better and he’s big yeah that’s pretty much what you’re thinking right so um I’m just giving the Devil’s Advocate argument well okay so so here’s the thing with Roger McQueen right number one I spoke to a couple of people early in the year about him and he I mean the thing that they told me was that NHL teams are going to look at him and go what if right that’s the thing they look at him and they go five years from now what is he and they their mind runs wild right and of course right like a 6 fo five Center who is pretty physical and has a bit of skill to him and you know there’s yeah there’s that and then you go what about when he puts on more weight what about when he gets stronger what about if he gains a step of quickness what about more skills training like oh my goodness what could we have here and yeah like again when people say that I just kind of have to go okay like that’s an opinion that that’s that’s an opinion and I’m not going to like say that that’s wrong but when I watch Roger McQueen I don’t I don’t I don’t I see a lot of what you and I think a few other Chatters have said in the last few weeks where it’s like I don’t really see what makes him such a gamebreaking potential player because I don’t know I watched another game of his I think yesterday two days ago in the last couple of days I watched another game and got data on it he continuously remains a not very good results player on paper um he is a uh a guy who I I mean the other thing too is the injury right when you talk to people about what happened to him injury-wise it is not amazing and Scott wheeler came on the show said he started the year playing he was hurt then he got injured came back and I don’t think he’s 100% still right like I don’t think he’s played a hockey game healthy for like a calendar year as far as that not good I think I could be wrong on that but it’s it’s a long time and I think that when you watch him play it very quickly becomes when would I take the chance because the thing that went wrong with him is if you read about it it’s aggravated by physical activity and he is a big boy with a lot of weight with more weight coming to be putting put on his spine like his back which is where this injury was sort of located and it could I it’s a risk and big guys with bad backs or big guys with back problems could be problematic right so you better be doing your homework is what I’m saying because on paper when I watch him and relative to a lot of other players in this class I just see a lot of other guys that I go I would rather bet on this than than McQueen and like keep in mind he had six points in his first game right like he had something like that like some or four goals in his first game of the season like some ridiculous game one and since then he’s been I think under a point a game so when you watch him play yes like I see some creative playmaking moments where you go yep that was a nice play that was cool he put it between his legs wow but actually 200 foot impact out of him relative to some other guys that I would play up the middle in the NHL I see more out of them that I’ve really really liked uh than I’ve seen out of McQueen and so for me like I wouldn’t be surprised if he fell in the draft I really wouldn’t I also wouldn’t be surprised to see him go fifth right some team out there gets medical reports that they look at and they’re like yep we we’re good with this our doctors are cool with it we’re cool with moving forward we’re going to we think this guy could be phenomenal we’re gonna do it we’re gonna take the plunge and go for it if only the Senators had the fifth overall pick well you know they may still have a chance but I don’t know like I the more I talk to people the more sketchy things get with him regarding his health uh and the more I sort of watch him the less I kind of go I it’s like it’s getting to the point like I have him in the 20s and I would like would I pick him if he was there at 25 like probably not because there are guys that I have ahead of him that I’m pretty sure will be available anyway um so it almost doesn’t matter but at the end of the day yeah I I I’m with you like when I watch him it’s really it’s really just the what if thing right like what if he becomes healthy and then develops and develops and develops right like like okay okay what if he just becomes better than Conor McDavid how about that then you have a hell of a hockey player a real hell of a hockey player you got the goat you got the goat yeah uh I always love Craig baru because we won the cup of them but he got we got progressively worse every year with him the team looks way better with Montgomery’s particularly our defensive structure and breakouts yes you don’t say breakouts are so bad yo the Toronto Maple Leafs breaking the puck out is agonizing it is agonizing it’s painful and they got rid of Timothy LD they got rid of their best Puck movers and it is agonizing now watching that team try to move the puck up the ice it is so painful Morgan Riley ices it they’ve ruined them Morgan Riley icing the puck should be illegal like that should be like a fine just carry it please just carry it yeah it’s pretty wild you’re big and skilled it’s still there I know it’s still there yep uh thoughts on Sergey murov I don’t know much about any not much of anything about genders but this guy seems to stop pucks and win games at every level he plays I mean yeah I I so with Sergey mov I remember watching him when he was a draft eligible and the data on him again he was probably the best analytical case in that draft for [Music] goenda in his career right like I mean I don’t think he has not lost a game yet in the AHL after 11 games which is kind of amazing um but I do think like obviously with goldendent but I remember the thing with him was that he wasn’t particularly big um and that’s okay uh but I mean it is a thing where I look at goers and I go I want guys who are facing big workloads guys who are stopping a lot of pucks and guys who are athletic and I believe mishab was 6 feet at draft time so when Pittsburgh drafted him uh that was kind of the knock on him as far as I can recall and it seems in the time since uh he’s grown a couple of inches and yeah I mean good for him right like for a guy who has not played 10 games in the KHL yet like he was an ml gender last year so for him to be on a 10 game streak with wils berry in the AHL that’s quite an impressive run obviously no guarantee of anything but he’s had a great year and you can’t take that away from him uh so I don’t know I’m hopeful I have him in fantasy hockey in a dynasty league so I’m thankful for that um so yeah I’ve been on that bus for a little while but yeah he’s a good goalie I don’t know he’s just good we’ll get David Phillips to talk about him maybe uh is Luke hes the greatest Leaf of all time or the greatest player of all time who is that yeah say who the hell is that oh the link is blue the link is purple so I’ve looked this guy up oh a Dartmouth okay yeah greatest yeah he’s the goat yep 100% the goat of uh the NHL forever always you know um Dartmouth College NHL Factory so let’s see I don’t know uh Carter George versus London could be interesting on one hand yes on the other hand it’s the London Knights um God love Carter George man but he is going to be a busy boy that is GNA be a tough one watching Owen Sound as much as they have this year and watching London as much as I have this year I mean that Carter George would need to put on a hell of a performance because London also has pretty good goenda medvive has has been very very good this year uh they got they brought a guy in mid season I think who’s also been pretty good um I I could be I could mistaken point is they good yes yeah Austin Elliott is the guy who I’m thinking of yeah they brought in Austin Elliott who has been very good actually for them uh and alexe meddev been very good as well so we’ll see what happens we’ll see what happens um oh okay so Brian just sent me the lukees contract uh contract announcement which happened five minutes after the start of this show so good for him so sucks cuz he’s a TR living guy yes exactly ruining my culture and my hockey team we should get a shirt of that if people would care but nobody buys our merch please buy our merch Boston Pizza ruining Italians forever yeah uh John procop thoughts now that is a name I was hoping to hear because I actually did went I did go and look at him cuz I knew someone was going to ask will will actually wrote this comment himself on an Al account they did yeah I I yeah I’m I’m totally unbiased steel heads fan actually on an Al account totally unbiased Steels heads fan okay yeah you just drive up engagements and know how to drive me nuts yeah to drive you crazy exactly but uh yeah I went and watched John pro cop with Union College a little bit coming into the show today and he’s fine he is Ste Jersey to be fair exactly yeah this this bad boy pretty confident is where you were at look at this guy it’s so good it’s great uh anyway you’re right he’s pretty confident yes he’s a confident guy carries the puck a lot uh I he doesn’t strike me as a guy that looks like an NHL player right now I mean I’m not saying it’s impossible obviously I never do but he looks like a guy who will probably be a Marley uh and and we’ll see what happens from there right like he did not look like oh my God this guy is you know the best one of the best players in the NCAA uh and and is destined for being a steal for the Toronto Maple leafes right like I think he’s just a a good solid defenseman who has a bit of offensive pop to him that you know might be able to become a thing offensive pop will die in this system so well I mean I I mean in like a in in a pretty limited scope right like he gets the he gets he can step up from the Blue Line a little bit he can shoot okay like he does some stuff but I think if he shoot he’ll be fine Morgan riy know shoot so Morgan Riley is ass right that’s true um who’s your favorite player on Survivor this season thoughts on the season so far have you been caught up yes I’m caught up I’m caught up I don’t know that I have a favorite player yet um let’s see Survivor 48 I mean I am a big fan of Mary Mary rules a big fan of Mary I’m a fan of simp David s David yep yep that’s a good one uh who else um I like Joe I think his name is the firefighter oh yeah the the fire captain yeah Joe’s pretty cool Sai Sai is entertaining as heck uh I’s entertaining but I don’t like these are the characters I don’t like her flame out is going to be incredible her flame out is gonna be awesome we almost got it we almost got it she almost got yeah well Cedric you know I will say I will say because if you’re a Survivor fan you know but the what happened was there was a tribal council obviously because the way they do Survivor now is horrible and it makes One Tribe always a giant bunch of losers because of just how the mechanics of the game you’re bad they every season if you if you lose the first challenge you’re toast you’re done like you may as well just fold because you don’t get fire you don’t get food you don’t get anything you don’t get your you don’t get a flint which is the problem don’t get flint like you don’t get anything so you’re just stuck on an island and everyone else kind of gets luxuries and they you know they have an advantage because they have an extra person on the team rather than you guys I would say l like you’re right that’s to say luxuries but I feel like in the context of the game you get tools I think that’s better I mean like Manpower is a resource yeah it is and if if one has if one team if two teams have six people and one has five you’re at a disadv like it just continuously makes a disadvantage for the same group but anyway the point is po Shelter by the way like it Terri it was horrible it’s but four people go to Tribal Council uh I forget the mechanics of it but it basically comes down to one guy just because he nobody voted for him he was the only person who could vote and he got to pick who went home and he had his number one his best friend he said this was the guy he wanted to go to the end with sitting there and uh the two women who were really going at each other uh really like competing against one another real hard and being very outward about it in a really exciting way I would say yes it was awesome and it was great and and and he had to pick who to send home basically and he couldn’t send home he couldn’t send home Mary because Mary played a shot in the dark which allowed her to be safe he voted to send Sai home every time twice he voted to send her home twice and he kept her he and he sent home the person he never voted for which is he’s I think he’s the first person in the history of the show in one Tribal Council to vote for every single other member of their tribe in one sitting that’s awesome which is insane uh so but I will say the edit really screwed up a little bit because they made it look like the guy who went home pretty much folded immediately like he just kind of was like you know what you make the right decision if you want to send me home send me home apparently what happened was that whole discussion lasted for like 2 hours uh and they just didn’t mention that in the edit uh and that totally changes the whole dynamic of the conversation because everybody started going at this guy for being like what an idiot for like doing this all all this stuff but when you think about the full context of the situation you kind of then get a better understanding and you go oh yeah okay there must have been more here that made it more nuanced and and sort of changed the mechanics of what was happening so sometimes uh reality show editing can be a little a little sketchy when you think about it it’s almost like they’re trying to entertain you rather than like yeah but that’s that’s what you’re supposed to do yeah that’s what you’re supposed to do um you’re supposed to hate people I mean I I would say Mary is probably my favorite on the show right now um mhm like Eva too yeah I Vibe with Eva pretty good she she she’s probably the closest thing to what I would be like on that show uh probably although I don’t I don’t think I would like run to someone and give them a give them a neck or a bracelet for their daughter in front of I don’t think I would do that I don’t think I’d do that but I definitely with the with the social situation awareness and all that stuff I definitely would be right there with her um but yeah okay I’d take you to the end and I’d cut you yeah and then I’d have you vote and and then I’d have you vote for me to win it would come down to a war between you and me for sure yeah and i’ I’d have you vote for me to win yeah uh but yeah I mean it’s I think it’s a great season so far I’ve really enjoyed it I mean the show gets so much better when it’s hour and a half long episodes like it it it just makes it so much more it also gets better when it hits the merge because I hate the three tribes yeah I mean the way that they do this phase of the game is incredibly stupid it’s really how many goddamn Journeys we got to have man well that yeah that too yeah it’s all silly oh it’s so dumb yeah uh oh so there was a follow up to the Super Chat that goals assists and points are weighed higher in that league so yes I would then go for Misa probably yeah you take Misa um hoping schaer is back for round one with eie facing Misa and Saga yeah I’ve heard uh that that’s a possibility but I don’t know I hope so I really would love to see more Matthew schaer before the end of the year uh mostly just to get more on him because he played a very limited sample and I like to space things out a little bit more um but if I have to I’ll go back and do some of those older games or do under 18s if he’s there and eie loses I don’t know um we’ll see what Happ also you’ll get to see him against his direct competition for the number one spot too which is kind of cool like it’s hard to compare but still it’ll be interesting to have both of them on the ice together in situations yeah uh did you watch the women’s NCAA hockey championship game dude yes that game was awesome too gotta shout out NCAA women’s hockey is getting so much better so fast it like Canada oh man I I don’t know the American women’s hockey program is just on a rip I know Canada has their own really really talented group coming up as well but God man that that was crazy CRA I agree that penalty shot goal from Kiren Sims was unbelievable uh the winning goal as well in that game like and it was also I think 20 seconds left in the game she scored that penalty shot winner to send the game to overtime like unbelievable stuff and and the University of Wisconsin’s Women program has been on a rip recently My My My Girl Caroline Harvey uh one of my favorite players in the world to watch uh winning a national championship I’m okay with that she rules uh and I did see it I I didn’t watch the game the whole game but I did go back and watch pockets of it after I saw the result and watched the you know and it was yes it’s excellent like NCAA Women’s College hockey it’s a it’s a big thing it’s a big deal uh do the analytics for Dean lono’s season look better than the score line well I mean his score line is basically nothing so anything really would be better I mean from what I’ve seen it is not that bad um again it’s not good yes well it’s not good yeah it’s not very good yeah he finished oh God he had three points this whole year he was playing like fourth line minutes like not good I mean look the thing with Dean Loro is I I mean I don’t know I had him in the third round last year I thought first round was insane um and I thought him I think the big issue was he chose to skip the USHL or whatever like he could have played in the ol this year right like he could have in retrospect you know like he could have been an OHL player this year and I think that that would have been like going from two games of USHL experience and mostly Canadian High School experience entirely Canadian High School experience to the NCAA for the best team in the country in the best conference in the country that is a Quantum Leap in in quality of opposition so for him to be not quite ready for that and be a fourth line guy for now and and learning the ropes there makes sense but it you know like obviously you don’t write a player off after one season but you know like again like this is this is what this is why when I talk about players and like it’s not as as positive or emphatic or as as you know is a good way to put it yeah like it’s I’m trying to be realistic with these things and like I watched both of those games he played in the US CH last year I watched him with St Andrews here and there last year and I honestly was stunned when I saw that he was moving his commitment to 2024 I thought that was a radically risky decision we’ll see if it pays off right like that’s all I’m saying is like you got to be patient but like it does not surprise me that he didn’t do amazingly well this year but it does surprise me that he still could not find a way even to just score a goal banging one in on a rebound or something because like that’s kind of what he did with St Andrews was there’s a lot of that net front finishing ability that gave him 61 goals in 56 games last year right like and he came away with nothing this year so I don’t know I I I do think watching him there are moments where I’m going yep I see why this guy is is looked at positively and what ever but yeah I don’t know I don’t I don’t know tough one tough season for him for sure but I I mean yes but I will say that I do believe from what I’ve seen that the the deeper data on him is more positive than how he’s portrayed um if you had a no trade list of say six teams who would be on your no trade list that is a good question um every Canadian team not named Toronto I honestly I hate Florida so much that I would say no to Florida and Tampa oh really I just hate dude I hate Florida it is one of my least favorite places that I have ever been in my life I would go I would be there I would go there for sure I would never in a thousand years when I you you probably burn in the sun there so so fast excuse me I’m a sunscreen boy I wear sunscreen like a real grownup I would be fine with that I just would never go outside because of the humidity and the alligators and the rain and the hurricanes and the people and the drivers and the street lights even I don’t even like the street okay we get it you hate Florida nope Florida is a hard no uh I would probably go there six teams there six teams right I I I was I was joking around about the Canadian teams but actually most yeah all the Canadian teams than the Le uh actually though actually though what I’d probably put all the Canadian teams on there other than like I wouldn’t do all of them all of them but I think I I I think I Toronto obviously I would not like I I want to play in Toronto I’m bored here this is my home I think Edmonton and Calgary I’d be cool with don’t think I could do Vancouver but I could give it a shot I’d say buffalo Winnipeg Edmonton uh Panthers lightning um I couldn’t do la I couldn’t do I couldn’t do yeah I could I couldn’t do la or Anaheim I don’t think I’d say may maybe San Jose but like just yeah I think I think St Louis like I like San Jose to be honest yeah I mean it seems nice you know like taxes San Francisco area the suburbs of San Francisco like sure you could find I I would much rather be there than in fraking Florida uh I’m a desert guy I need to be in the desert if I’m winning a cup with the Florida Panthers I don’t care I’m doing it I do I literally do I do not I will not do it I am passionate about that even if means no Stanley Cup which is your dream by the way that will told me his dream is to get on our team and win this Stanley Cup who isn’t um don’t follow hockey I mean look if if the look if the Florida Panthers call me tomorrow and offer me a job I’m I’m gonna do it but if I’m an NHL player making millions and millions and millions of dollars and I have to choose where I don’t want to like you know live my life and I get that I get that luxury that like I’m so in demand that there are places I can reject I Florida just doesn’t do it for me man it just doesn’t do it uh at all um and maybe I’m nuts but that’s that’s that’s where I come down um but yeah I mean for me Florida Tampa probably got put buffalo on that list um Winnipeg and St Louis the only reason I would put Montreal on that list is because sorry because I can’t I can’t I can’t play for the Habs it’s not a thing about the city of Montreal Montreal is a cool City I just can’t heartbeat in a heartbeat can’t do it I would do it heartbeat can’t do it the Bell Center man with fans I’m I’m a Leaf’s guy for life I can’t do it can’t do it if you get on the good side of habs fans man life is I’m already on the bad side can’t do it can’t do it oh so good can’t do sorry well we’ll agree to disagree there but City it’s not about that it’s just I have strong allegiances y uh who do you take to win the Canadian Hockey League playoffs I got Spokane Windsor and monton I’m gonna go [Music] London I’m I’m gonna agree on Spokane give me Berkeley baby Berkeley Katon all the way I mean I I I I like Everett and I think Everett’s going to be really tough to beat but I think it’s possible Everett’s tough too but I guess Carter bear is at now too yep and Spokan looked really good with with with since adding Crystal oh but I also got I also got to back my boy Landon right uh cuz he’s my boy now because I I talked to him once in an interview so we’re friends that that’s how this works guys your BFFs right yeah um I mean the que is who knows but yeah I mean monton is kind of the easy answer and I think monton is probably the best team in the league I mean they finished the best team in the league um so I think I would largely agree with you but I’m going with London I think London is a wagon uh and I feel like they could take down Windsor I don’t think I feel like maybe uh Sagen could also do some damage as well those two teams are still really good this year Sagen on London but we’ll see uh have you gotten a chance to look at lovs NHL stint I have uh you say he looks pretty good I mean I will does not think that I don’t think he’s been great but obviously he’s they threw him in like playing 20 minutes right like and putting him on the power play like I think on the power play he looks good like he when he has some freedom and some time and he gets to play with the puck a little bit more he is uh good um you know but I look at him in his own end and that’s where things become troubling for me with him um I don’t know I I I I see he was okay he’s been okay I I’m stunned these in the NHL this quickly but we’ll see what happens I don’t know but I have seen it I’ve seen them a couple of times we’re gonna rapid fire through these because I have to be up at 5:00 a.m. tomorrow for my job and I’m I’ve already like had my eye like full disclosure I’ve had my eyes closed for half the episode while I’ve been talking I’ve been listening I’ve been listening why I told you to take the night off man no I got to work I got to work man my mind I’m I was mentally with it I just needed I just needed to rest my eyes Okay needed to rest my eyes oh boy okay well I pushed through things baby we got to get through all this hey hey I I pushed through it okay normal people wouldn’t do that I did it for you guys to remember me oh my God your brain is bizarre it is bizarre is it crazy to say Porter Marton is similar to install kind of I’m looking forward to yes I’m I would be interested in seeing brunii with with wils bear as well uh Isa periz a good player comp for Victor Eckland maybe I guess I don’t know uh the best jo guesser mode is the dirty version yeah we’re not doing that on the internet does Carter Bear’s injury affect your ranking of him not right now but the job would be to get medical reports on him and see what the deal is there and what people think I I I I only can go off of my own opinion but I would want more intelligence gathering m i was watching some shl playoffs hockey on the weekend uh there’s a team in lulio yeah they are a team which has an official goal song that they play before each player’s own goal song yeah because European hockey is way more fun I don’t remember faans when he was there and lulio also has one of the best logos in European hockey because there’s a man on it holding a hockey stick doing this it’s kind similar to this I like the polar bear one that they had or something like that yeah uh what do you think is the most overrated and underrated stat in hockey to use projecting prospects overrated is points underrated is uh size the the the height of the player um yeah I don’t know under stats in general are overrated for prospects that’s what I would say yeah stats in general are overrated honestly NHL is probably more overrated than Bo maybe because it’s based on BL well cuz also nhle gives you this false Narrative of what the player is going to be just trying to project it based on the scoring of the league nhle is stupider than Boz Boz at least Mak sense you put puck in the back of the net or you pass to put puck in the back of the net you gain Bo right nhle is scale that to an NHL level from this Junior League without taking into consideration how the player is doing what they are doing right right and then telling me they’re a superstar they are no uh they have a 92% chance of being they are ass well time will tell time will tell uh audio listeners so Holo future me oh Holo you in the future do do you have a take a chance chance to take a look at Dominic pavic I did he is fine like I saw a guy who had some ability to stick with play Under Pressure and get some shot like shooting opportunities Under Pressure I didn’t really see anything where I was like you know super high on him there but he I mean there was a few guys recommended in last week’s shows that I had a chance to take a look at and I do remember him being the one that sticked out stuck out more than the rest of them but it was kind of you know at this point in the draft like I don’t think he’s a guy that I would be throwing on the list um just saw a rumor a report that the CHL is allowing three Imports instead of how much would that offset the outflow of players to the NCAA well I mean I don’t think it would do anything I think it would increase the flow of players from Europe to the NCAA uh because I know that’s a lot of the reason why Europeans want to come to North America is to play in the NCAA and I know that’s happening more and more recently so I don’t I don’t know if it would help off I mean it would definitely buoy the quality of the league um which I think is totally fine I mean yeah I mean I think 10% of your team being non North American seems a little bit a little bit tight to me so increasing it makes sense um how aggressive should Mike Greer be in free agency with guys like Marner Bennett and besser 40 million in space and likely drafting dra drafting to two again well Marner is not going anywhere I’m sorry it depends on how much you’re spending on these guys right like I don’t I don’t know if I would open the wallet for like Brock besser if Mar is there you open the wallet for him but he’s not going to be there yeah I don’t think he is I don’t even Bennett Maybe I don’t know uh Bennett Bennett is possible but I don’t know I I think Sam Bennett’s a player you add to a team as a complimentary piece that sort of at is the finishing touch of the intangibles let’s say that they you want but he’s actually just a good player as well but to me he’s not he’s not a driver in the sense that like he’s going to make your team great he will elevate your team with what he does but you need the great players like the Matthew kachuck and the Alexander barov to do that for you yeah uh but I mean I don’t know I I also if I’m the sharks like take like I know you don’t want to be this bad forever but you got something fun going here right like just because you have the money like I think you could do it I think you you know what I would do I I’d sign shortterm contracts yeah that are like really high dollar value that you could maybe uh try and retain on do the sharks have any retention spots left I have no idea I have no clue CU they’re retaining on Eric Carlson but if they have retention spots left then they should think about like they have they have all of them really is there Carlson not retained oh wait no sorry retained remaining is zero so they don’t have any remaining yeah hurdle uh hurdle Carlson okay so they can’t use it yeah they can’t ah well uh but yeah I mean he’ll have lots of flexibility to say the least um I’d be very surprised if snug plays in the AHL okay sure I good K like he’s in the NHL because someone says he is like cool I don’t know I’m just I’m just more of the belief that college to the NHL is really hard to do and like be really good at right away right like it is really hard uh so stepping stones are not a bad thing um emit fny to Grand Rapids cool yep um people are starting to put dooya over Haggin exactly right like that’s that’s how it happens is Logan Hensler really that bad is he projected to be a top four also Fiddler and hens F or Hensler and why so hensler’s not bad I just I don’t know what he is and I I think he’s just kind of a guy who’s still sorting out what he is as a player but he just kind of eats minutes like he’s not like I think he gets beat defensively a little bit more than I would like for sure more than guys like Fiddler like you mentioned but even Fiddler at times can be a little bit soft uh with his coverages and and and on the rush but they’re both not bad uh in that area but like hensler’s a really good Puck mover and like a really good pretty good passer as well like he doesn’t really take to much risk he’s fine like he’s a he’ll be he could probably Munch some minutes on your second pair and for me he’s in a tier that’s like mid late second round and yeah he’s he’s decent right um he’s fine uh okay we really got to push through these I’m sorry guys I know I know toon ignot Len he’s really good and definitely a good MHL player if McQueen was completely healthy what’s a comp of his for that’s been a fantastic player gets laugh maybe I I don’t know I don’t know uh I don’t really have a good one because I haven’t really liked that much of McQueen from what I’ve seen this year also haven’t seen a ton of him right just cuz he’s not played Queen yeah well I watched three of the games early in the year tracked two and then tracked two since he’s come back and yeah like I don’t know I compared to much of the other group yeah uh also how long until we start the is Hain a product of sea debate we brother we already did uh have you ever have you ever watched big brother or the challenge no my better half watches Big Brother once in a while but I’ve never really been super into it I don’t have that much brain capacity for that kind of TD content yeah that um that show just seems wild and wild in an unnecessary way uh but if you like it teach their own yeah enjoy yourself Hein do look better with sta than with Leonard yeah because Teddy sta freaking rocks Teddy s is better than Ryan Leonard have you ever thought about Elite um thoughts on Aiden lanee none uh but uh I will I have to take a look at him it’s been a while since I’ve seen him but yeah I’ll take a look I I I saw his first couple games with Brampton and I thought he was fine but I didn’t really think like again it’s like that line of like when am I drafting him right and I don’t know where he is on that uh yeah Dean looks like a guy Dean latero looks like a guy who could have been solid with a year of major Juniors but the jump to the NCAA has destroyed his confidence exactly like that’s what I’m saying right like I was stunned like I said that he moved his his his uh he moved his commitment up a year uh any concern that Haggins has a was a point per game uh in the NCAA ntdp Series in his draft year and has the same production in no I’m not I’m not concerned about James Haggins really much at all um I think he’s a guy who is gonna turn out just fine um and he yeah like the next commenter said he hasn’t been with Leonard and perau all season at all um but yeah I I I I honestly this person this chatter who’s been watching a lot of BC I fully agree with uh where him and sta gel way better together than guys like Leonard and and perau where I think Leonard and perau play more like safe projectable NHL styles of play where if they have other players to drive the bus with them they’ll get the job done whereas Haggins is a guy who drives the B tries to drive the bus and that’s a really hard thing to do and sta does the same thing um and sta is a much more I would say defensively involved player in a in a intensity level aspect than a guy like perau or even a Leonard like Leonard is physical and he is a aggressive player but in terms of like actually causing turnovers and like constantly being a be in a bonnet I think you see a lot more of that out of stean I think that enables Hain a little bit better but yeah I think him perau and and and Leonard were not a particularly amazing match this year thoughts on Alexander tanov I have no idea who that is I’m going to assume that that’s not a real person uh it’s a real person but that’s it’s a guy it’s a person geez all right never mind byebye uh do you want to answer what the thing you dislike or even hate the most about the Habs or do you want to just go to bed the giant toilet seat logo okay thoughts on Shakir Muka Mulan in in uh in 2025 has he exceeded your expectations I haven’t seen much of him this year I’ve seen the Sharks a little bit I mean he is big and he can skate right you can get away with that yep yep yep yep yep you know who do you think is going to emerge as the best nhlr from this year’s disappointing nddb group maybe Cole mckin if I’m being optimistic LJ Mooney I would love LJ Mooney to be great in the NHL but I don’t think so it would be nice next game tape by the way is going to be Cole mckenny yeah Cole mckenny I think is projectable and I think he could get there maybe Jack mtag but I like Cole mckin quite a bit uh does Joy Malon have NHL middle six potential I don’t know prob he’s kind of thin and small and and not a very diverse skill set really like he’s a really good finisher but yeah um is Xavier VN the next Lane Hudson probably did you get a look at Noah jenin before G season ended I did he’s he was fine again it’s like when am I drafting him probably never but a good CHL defenseman who might get a pro contract or get drafted and play in the AHL or something and you never know sure uh thoughts on the v’s joining the WHL I mean again it comes down to the quality of ownership there’s there’s a bit of confusion about what’s happening with expansion and who’s relocating and who’s doing what but uh yeah I mean the v’s are a big brand in the bchl and it’s a big boost for the WHL hopefully uh any thoughts on Luke hes no but I’ll take a look at him I didn’t even know who he was before this show even started so there you go do you guys think thear should tank it one more time I think the Sharks should try to get better but not expect the world next year like the Habs last year if you’re in dead if you’re in dead last it’s probably not great but it’s okay if you don’t make the playoffs basically just try try and go out and like I I we don’t we don’t believe in tanking here try yeah we don’t believe in tanking anyway right like go out and try have fun keep building and just take steps there always good players if you do your research so just try and win as much as you can uh how much are the Leafs going to ice a competitive team with so much money in Matthews and Marner uh they aren’t because they aren’t what bedtime stor is you going to read to whated I’m gonna read the hockey sweater I’m gonna read AJ the hockey sweater for yeah I’m operating on a no night of sleep either that’s the funniest thing too like I’m I’m H I’m ready I don’t need a B sory I don’t know why you did the show because I’m a mad man and I I push through it because I have mental fortitude that’s what I do that’s what I do well on that note we’ll call it thanks for joining us this was a good time uh AJ uh any parting words again all of our our sponsors and stuff are in the description I’ve got I’ve got the best one I can come up with all right go leaves for Cup in my dreams yep good see you around see you Thursday afternoon and yeah [Music]

  1. I really think you're underestimating Chicago's strategy of targeting ++mobility, +length, and +physicality on the back-end

  2. I know you guys watch young guys and how they are doing in the nhl in more obscure markets could you watch Bolduc he has been killing it for the Blues since the new years
