Every single time I've ever watched him he makes the absolute worst play I've ever seen.
The lack of pace allows him to make great plays but also awful plays.
Obviously he's very valuable but man I do not like the way he plays whatsoever. He would drive me insane if he was on my team.

Bro has to play half an hour each night because the rest of the Oilers defense can't do with the puck what Bouchard can do night in and night out. Criticize his turnovers all you want but there's a reason why he gets the number of puck touches that he does.
He's no Orr, Robinson,Savard,Potvin…not even close
Bouchard isn't nearly as bad defensively as the narrative is. Was same with Karlsson in his prime. People never change. Always the same narratives with players like this. Top 10 D man at worst in the league, no player is perfect.

He’s a great player but just very lazy and very dumb at times, he’s a complete traffic cone at times. Definitely an interesting player. I remember watching the game vs vegas where they lost with .3 seconds left he looked like a guy out there for his first practice ever he just looked completely lost out there.

I honestly couldn’t believe it when you said Jeff skinner has more hits than him this postseason 😂 this dude plays almost 30 minutes a night how the hell does he only have 7-8 hits?
Have to admit as a canuck fan I was leaning more towards Bouchard over Hughes during that draft. So glad Benning wasn't. Not that I'm anti Bouchard. As much as I dislike the Oilers it's nice to see that he's at least become a good defenseman. But man, Hughes is just better than him at pretty much everything except the slap shot. And especially playing actual D. Hughes absolutely blows everyone away at Defensive metrics. Even Makar.
I don't envy the Oilers choice though. That's a lot of money to tie up in a guy who probably will never be that solid defensively. I think it's like our situation with Elias Petterson. You kind of just have to sign him. Warts and all.
