Reid is a long shot, he's forecast around 20. I think GMMG goes for bigger w/snarl if he's taking a forward at 30 or 33 (Vansaghi or Zonnon sort)
If SJ doesn’t end up moving either pick 30 or 33, I’d certainly take a swing on Ivan. With the hype there was, reminds me Aatu Räty no?
McGilligan is probably right that there are bound to be a bunch of under-ranked Europeans. The top-50 is so heavily skewed to North Americans that it’s almost implausible.
Most European 18 year olds play in a lesser junior league that no one takes seriously or in a men’s league with no ice time and produce nothing, or both. Scouting these players is a lot of work.
Ryabkin looks like a disaster though. He was in the top-10 going into the season because he looked to be this year’s Michkov of Demidov. Beware the guy that just fits the shirt.
