After the first 2 games of this Stanley Cup Final lived up to all the hype and have us one of the best starts to a Cup Final in recent history, the consensus coming into game 3 was that it would only be better now that both teams got some rest. Well, that was NOT the case. The Edmonton Oilers got absolutely destroyed by the Florida Panthers tonight. Edmonton came unglued and gave Florida 14 powerplay chances as Florida laid a beat down of epic proportions to remind us all why they are the reigning cup champions. They held Leon Draisaitl completely off the board, not even registering a shot. Connor McDavid looked no where near as dominant as he has all Playoffs and of course, Sergei Bobrovsky came up huge when needed while for the Oilers, Stuart Skinner was pulled after allowing 5 goals. I've said it before, and I'll say it again and again, and again.
NO Canadian team will ever win the cup so long as Gary Bettman is GM. In his eyes, the Canadian market will always take care of itself and it's not as lucrative as the American markets so, any time there is a Stanley cup final with a Canadian team in it, you can bet on the American team and win, every, single, time. This time will be no different. I don't know, or care what game the Panthers take it in, but they'll take it. Clearly Bettman really has his eyes on that Florida market.
The Oilers' souls were consumed and McDavid is going to meltdown. As their goaltending is good, but for playoffs and runs like this you need a stud.

this is the best game of hockey ive seen since talbot and rittich decided to have a goalie fight in the battle of alberta a few years ago. This sort of all out war bloodbath sort of hockey is how hockey is supposed to be
The Refs should have been fined, this was complete BS, Florida got so much help from these refs and this is the only way they can win, F the j ew loving Florida.
The NHL really needs to rethink the game misconduct policy so that 10 minutes unserved at the end of the game bleed over into the next game.

Florida is just proving that a mix of physicality like teams used to use still works. Instead of trying to strip the puck with your stick on high skilled players these days, just take their body off the puck. Attack the player. Who would've thought?
