Misa over Schaffer! Explosive scoring ability and that's what we need!.
I think that draft had 2 impact players only, schaeffer and Misa. Islanders can't go wrong picking either of them. It comes down to philosophy what type of players will be able to have more impact on a game and for me it's a 2 way dynamic defenseman. People around the league feel that by the time he makes it to the nhl he will add 20-25lbs to his frame adding a dimension of physicality he doesn't have right now. You draft schaeffer it gives you roster flexibility meaning you can trade dobson for a dynamic scoring forward. Word around the league is that dobson wants to have a max contract at 9.5mm+ which is why he fired his agency and signed with Wasserman. Bridge deal with Wasserman will be very ugly meaning handing out another ntc contract. I look at schaeffet and I see a poor man's version of Victor Hedman. I will take that any day
Schaefer is not the best guy to take. Like I said for almost a month now it is misa. No one one tell me other wise because misa will get 50-75% of the stats he got in the ahl in the nhl. Gil nothing you say can tell me Schaefer is the guy because misa has the stats and proven numbers to back himself up more. Anyone who disagrees will have to debate with me.
Islanders needs will be met more with misa. Schaefer is not the answer compared to misa

Im a sharks fan and im here for misa. Still see you guys taking schaefer. I dont like the trading up option as you guys are after a leg, a kidney and a lung…no offense. Just doesnt look worth it, even if he is the perfect missing piece for us.
Sharks are in driving seat as they’ll end up with 1 of the 2 players in the draft. Misa should go to college to refine his game, go for 1-2 years to bulk up at Boston U. Then go the nhl and be a winger or 2c.
So if we need both, just trade back. It's not rocket science. Let's get as many weapons as we need. There's far too much at stake this upcoming season. And also why should we care what Bettman says? the man just sits in his office does CEO stuff. Not even a hockey fan. We shouldn't pay attention to a Commissioner.

Not going to think 🤔 about this and get crazy over what Darche does with number one. We have no power over what Darche thinks is best! It is Darche’s plan to build this decimated team that Lou left! With virtually zero prospects. Old men past prime on ice and players who have declined with no trade clauses! Horrible! I will simply trust the Process whoever Darche picks. It is Darche’s plan! We wanted Darche we got Darche now I will not get on Darche with his pick or trading of number 1! We are not even close to a contender! We need to build a better future because we are not winning a cup anytime soon ! Fans need not get so Hyped or upset over Darche’s decision. If San Jose will give up their first round pick next year or Dickinson, you swap down and take misa.
Anyone hear Lou may have extended the scouts as well as his son? This is how Lou repays the Islanders after how good they were to him? An example that you need to fire someone right away. Malkin should let Darche replace these people and eat these contracts since he did not act sooner.
Svechinikov on Carolina and Brady tkuchuk were drafted after Rasmus Darlene. They are light years better than him.

If Misa is secretely Your 1 then You absolutely trade back to the Sharks even if You only get .80 cents on the dollar for the ask or You leave that .80 on the table since it is basically a certainty the Sharks are trading up to grab Schaefer. That is My take right or wrong.

It would be crazy to pick Misa first overall when we can get him at #2. Trade the #1 to the Sharks and take Misa along with extra prospects/picks.

I do love the 'generational talent' comment. Bedard was considered generational. At this point, its not clear he's better than Fantilli or Carlsson. Meanwhile, last season, no one was talking Celebrini as generational. and he's looking better than all of them. Mind you, they'll all be really good NHL players, but the ability to project just how good someone is, that's still a pretty inaccurate art.
fwiw, All-Star games are so-so. But the events around the game are a lot of fun. If it was just the game, it'd be meh. But since its a good bit more, its worth it.

We did exactly that when we drafted Tavares, we never made a playoff with him. We passed on Headman and he had 3 cups. None of you offense heavy fans answer that you’re so focused on offense because you’re idiots. If you want to take Misa number one we trade down to two because we know San Jose wants Schaefer so we get extra assets in a trade you do not pick Mesa number one that’s stupid. But that’s typical islander fans they don’t think things through. I don’t care which one we draft either one is fine but we do it the right way if we draft Schaffer, we take him number one if we draft Mesa, we make a trade out of number one with San Jose because we know they want him.
This is why the Sharks aren't going to give up 5 premium assets to move up one spot.
Gil same can be said about Schaffer doing it in the NHL compared to juniors I hope they take Misa

If San Jose is hell bent on trading up for Schaefer, Isles should focus on shedding unwanted contracts. Sharks have over $41 million of cap space, and can afford to take on the money. What would Isles nation this of this trade:
