good day guys and uh here we are at robe again the little dip Conservation Park and we’re going to uh just about to go a reconnaissance at the beach to see what the conditions are see what sort of uh rods we need what sort of rigs we’re going to set up for so yes we’re all set up ready to go James and um Benny have gone for a quick surf uh before the fishing tonight so I’ll keep you posted and let you know what’s going on all right yeah I’m pretty [Music] excited [Music] look like tracks or motor coming through here like how we we’ve just done a bit of a look around some of the beaches uh the normal Beach where we’d like to go to is uh uh the uh the big deep gul’s been filled in so there’s a lot of lot of extra sand there now so the gutter is not very prominent um we’ve come down a long Galley and um that looks more promising but there still a fair bit of weed in the water conditions are still pretty rough here hey doggy oh he doesn’t want to go down there oh no that’s quite soft down there it’s pretty scary when the wheels are getting wet yeah CH is he really risking there anyway he got through right but this there’s a nice gutter there and it’s very overcast pretty good good chance of some rain tonight but um yeah it’s got a little bit of weed in there be a bit of a frustration night with a bit of weed but I think we’ll get through it the water’s deep enough to have some serious siiz fishing there so we’ll give it a crack okay du’s going to drive you can’t drink and drive oh well yes you can we’re on holidays so uh yeah Dogg’s going to drive back there’s another car coming now yeah he does that all right there a bit of a rocky out crop just coming up here very bumpy D he’s going at a low Pace it’s all right anyway take good day guys well we’re just about to head out to the surf I’ve uh made a few rigs so we’re going to I’ll give you a quick sample of my rig to show you what we used using before we head out hang on a second okay guys here’s business H we got three hooks all snelled together there’s a big hook in the middle it’s a um 70 and then two 5 O’s on way 40 cm leader onto a pulley rig I’m not sure if you can see that okay it’s it’s on a um on a uh pulley system so you can see as I pull the hooks the sink comes off the ground so it’s effectively a pulley system works really well you can see on the Sinker here the Little Hook there the bottom hook onto that so it’s all becomes one streamlined system and as soon as the Sinker hits the water that lever system there hits the water and the hooks Run free and the rig set up so it’s designed for actually a long casting system without tangling on the way out very good system okay the rod we’re using is a 15 ft Menace surf with an L C 7500 pen Reel longcast with a 40 lb braid hopefully we’ll do the [Music] trick okay okay we’re on the bishop P track heading to the beach we’re following James he’s got the lead vehicle with the orange Flags I just sto the corner hey hey Ken’s mustard to get in this fishing 6 hours of driving to get here a sitting up camp here we go [Music] she’s soft on the GQ Patrol sort of oh look at the G out oh my God how good does that look yeah it looks pretty good oh my it looks clean clean as oh so yeah this is it yeah it looks good um is there a cheap track there yeah it’s a che track but this is the this side of the this is here where you were fishing the other last night yeah this is this is where we want to go I want to make sure the people can get past us yeah yeah they can they can go at the cheat track can they all right but so this gut is shallow this C is not that deep now when it was high tide it was a lot deeper yeah still got damn 4 hours 5 hours for the tide to come in is it already coming in well High Tides at 2:00 in the morning so it’s probably almost low now low tide now so good opportunity to cat some uh maybe some salmon yeah swe here’s the Burly bucket guys it’s all full of uh pilin heads so as the tide comes in it’ll start hitting that shortly and start washing out all a Bly trail out to the surf carry some fish to come on the bik but if it gets loose we got a rope going right up the beach above the high tide Mark keep it secured all right well the boys some of the boys are James going to line in J now going to line in yeaha exciting times no Billy buckets working to train already everyone going Splash in and suck up more of that stuff out the bucket there thato beautiful looking fish what youing n awesome work Mark nice little shark wow he’s heavy too yeah nice size good work Buddy good size fish a beauty Mike Awesome work all right enough goodday guys well it’s day two and we’re doing a bit of Rec reconnaissance trying to find someone to go fishing the uh weeds pretty much everywhere the Surfs tur on like a washing machine uh very hard to even find somewhere nice to go fishing last night we uh hooked onto um we tried Arthur’s Pate first but the tide was still low we had to wait till oh I think the high tide was at 2:00 in the morning while we were there the uh tide was still low um we fished for a couple of hours and not even a bite but admittedly it was middle of the tide thought we went back to Camp uh the the young fellas were arriving about uh 11:00 last night so we went back to the camp uh met all the guys we came down from Melbourne and then Doug and I went out and hit the long Gully Beach and um yeah we end up pulling in three Ling and a huge Port Jackson shark and that was the end of the p section there so today Doug and I have um gone looking for somewhere we can nice and quiet we can maybe catch some whiting so we’re having a look at a few places you can see it’s still very rough out there even The Little Shelter corner of this beach is uh still got a lot of weed in it some lovely Rock bases Clips here hard to see without any sunlight but you get the idea oh D ready to head off to go home get some whing all right we going to look for some other places Club there you go here you go [Applause] hey them more club club there’s my car mike that’s what I’m getting one of them what do you think much happening here going check out some other spots maybe go de tonight squid we tra all way off theer there so much we what you can do about it all right hi [Laughter] [Music] here we go guys where are we now okay r guts out by the sea but this little section Little Bay here like a mil [Music] Pond the main Beach not Beach it’s a um Front Beach that beach the nor Kina could just a nice dve and it seems to be a a little LED just here right around the shoreline there a drop off we going to get a few czys in there hello goodday guys we’ve uh gone down to nor crina this morning we went for a bit of a dive and the uh conditions are about 4T visibility lot of sediment floating in the in the water uh conditions were so we’ve left now we’re gearing up for the high tide at Bishop’s Pate middle of the day I think it’s like 1:30 or 2 bloody high tide so yeah we’re going to give the crack sorry um yeah yeah Bishop’s P we’re going to hit it now this is the Quick Trip into Bishop’s pain so this little cheat track takes us right up towards where we want to be save driving about 15ks long on the [Music] beach turn BR here [Music] somewhere here we [Music] go [Music] [Music] oh [Music] m you see a few occasional uh animal tracks go across the path [Music] here two Junction [Music] [Music] here [Music] is the ocean hard [Music] time definitely higher AR guy Bishop’s pip JY there rigging up a new bait you see there’s a nice deep guttering right here it runs all the way along the beach down to those rocks over there this where I caught the 50 pounder the same location here we got one fresh billets for tonight for the uh gummy sharks p on Mike top effort are all right right for now you hooked up douggy oh yeah he’s got something wow what I don’t know what that is bring it over here and we’ll wash it and have a look oh wow not some sort of Rass ding got teeth too yeah yeah yeah well done NY you happy yeah good stuff I’m just going to uh half a s on here you can see that the Hook’s exposed point on one side big bar on the other half in on the tail onto a running rig this time hopefully that’ll work looks like a waby on the road doggy yeah W [Music] be [Music]
Fishing at Robe in South Australia
Trying to catch some quality fish under extreme conditions,( windy rough seas)
The Algae bloom prevented us from diving due to the clarity of the water, visibility was extremely poor.
The large amounts of plankton and Algae was pushed on shore with the strong southerly winds creating a natural phenomenon at various locations, A bioluminescent plankton bloom created some rare sights.
This phenomenon often referred to as a blue tide, The chemical reaction inside these living cells generates light, causing the ocean to glow in hues of blue,green and sometimes red when disturbed by water movement.. some of the locations include Waitpinga camp ground, Kangaroo Island and Vivonne Bay -Experts attribute this natural wonder to combination of recent hot weather and nutrient rich water.
