    The RS always hit better as the wind starts blowing out and the air drys out. It’s going to be tough to win 90 games now. And that’s not enough. Crochet’s velocity was decreasing every pitch in the fourth inning. His four seam fastball was low 90’s! Wth? I hope his arm doesn’t fall off. Or is this going to be strategy going forward? Try to save Crochet’s season and health? My opinion is he is doing it. Save himself for when the games matter. Fighting for a playoff spot. The RS are not close to that now.

    I'm hoping this got Story and KC out of their hitting slumps! Great games for them both! Not sure if they are back. It's a TBD situation.

    I give Crochet a B. I did notice that he wasn't himself immediately following his slip on the mound. It was a couple pitches after that slip that he gave up the HR.

    I wasn't happy with Romy's defense at first. You could tell he's not familiar with the position which is why I think Toro would be better suited there with Sogard at third.

    Look how productive we are when we can string together a few hits and move those base runners around . Instead of trying to win the game on one big massive homerun. This was a bit reminiscent of the big game we had earlier in the year. This is the kind of offense that we need to concentrate on and why we need a better hitting coach to drive this point home. Let's hope that this is the turn around game and not just a once in 30 games event.

    The same problems are atill there- attention to detail and bad baseball decisions – again a hallmark of batch coaching / manager

    Bad base running – devers

    Bad decisions – Rafaela making another dumb decision throwing home missing cut off advancing runners for no reason

    Gonzo- going after a ball when he shouldn’t have at first that cost them and gave a free base to the Yankees

    A lot of the same sloppy baseball
    Wisert should not have been pulled after electric stuff fanning the side

    Really hoping this is a true sign of the team coming together. And with bregman coming back soon they really could come back this season. If the rest od the rotation gets their stuff figured out im feeling good on this team

    As encouraged as I was by Campbell’s hitting last night, I was deeply concerned by the BAFFLING misplay he made on that DJ LeMahieu ground ball in the 4th inning. He froze up and then actually dove in like, the wrong direction from where the ball was and it was a hit instead of an easy DP. Really inexcusable misplay, and Fox had a camera angle from behind home plate that showed how egregiously awful it really was. Combine that with him being in the fifth percentile on baseball savant for fielding – meaning he’s among the 5% of the worst fielders in the league – and I’m officially concerned about his defense.

    So Campbell hits a blooper into right field and a seeing eye grounded between 1st and 2nd base for his 2 hits . Campbell is not a MLB player .

    What? They haven’t won back to back games since April. Campbell and Story hitting a suspect lefty is no great feat. I need consistency to believe.
