Washington Capitals forward T.J. Oshie announced his retirement from the National Hockey League on Monday during a fan event at Washington Harbour in Georgetown. This event marked the anniversary of a memorable occasion when Oshie and his teammates celebrated by swimming in the fountains at the exact location just two days after winning the Stanley Cup on June 7, 2018.

Will always be my favorite player
Oshie was one of my favorite players and characters on and off the ice and was just a great person. You will be missed.
As a hockey fan, the game of hockey is just a little better, having had TJ Oshie in it. He was a fantastic player and a special person. All in all, to quote Herb Brooks, "Thank you for giving us your very best."
I get it, he was with the team a long time, the sentiment of the get-together was nice and his speech was really sweet, especially about his family. But really, I agree with Osh, this could have just been a social media post. Everyone already knew this was coming, this didn't need to be turned into some big hoopla. You should have at least done a 2-for-1 and had Backie officially announce his retirement up there too, cus he's obviously not coming back.
I wanted TJ when he played for St. Louis. He has been my favorite player ! May you have a wonderful future!
Congrats man. Sad too see you go but Iβm happy
Not the best public speaker but that man is genuine and has nothing but heart and passion. Mad respect for TJ, top 10 cap of all time maybe top 5.
