Coaches coach but players execute. The Islanders have a talent issue far more serious than their coaching issues. Until that is addressed, nothing will change and Darche sounds content to, at least this coming season, to "run it back"
Prediction: the PP will not be much better unless the roster improves. Except for Barzal and Horvat no one is comfortable handling the puck with pressure, especially the defensemen. Without Barzal, no one has the speed and stick handling abilities for zone entries. Where are your wing snipers? Wahlstrom set the franchise back being a bust. Dobson sucks as the quarterback. Please trade him. The PK needs defensive zone faceoff wins and won wall battles. Packing it in and depending on Sorokin to withstand a shooting gallery is not a recipe for success. Barzal's days on the PK should be over.

Ex-Devils (MacLean, Gomez, Albelein) have been awful for the Islanders as special teams coaches. These 2 new hires have to be an improvement.

Great move. I mean anything is an improvement from tweedle Dee and tweedle dum
Anything other than the same stagnant coaching staff is welcomed at this point!
