  1. Deboer: Yea, I'm not saying Otter sucked during the playoffs…but Otter really sucked during the playoffs, look at his terrible record against the Oilers…

  2. Could be worse: the Chicago Bears pissed away the game on Thanksgiving, let Eberflus talk to the media on Friday Morning where he actually said that he’d be coaching the Bears at their next game the following week, and then after he was done talking to the media, they fired him

  3. I’m tired of the NHL recycling the same coaches and GMs. Dallas should try out Jay Woodcroft

  4. Don't sleep on Neil Graham down in Austin getting a call up.

I'd have him ahead of Spott in the running. Earlier in the season the fans in Dallas wanted his head on a stick because of sucky PP. It recovered, but I don't think there's a lot of momentum behind him to become the next HC. Pete throwing Jake under the bus didn't set well. I don't know if Gagliardi was ready to pull the trigger on firing Pete before the press conference, but I think he was fine with it afterwards.
Jim Nill plays it close though. I guess we'll see.
It's not my money but if they could buy out Dumba It wouldn't hurt my feelings. He didn't play at all during the playoffs. Bichsel took his spot and no one missed him.
The real questions are Duchene, Seguin, and Benn. Is it time for a new captain? Do they go one more year each? How much?
And what about Wyatt? He was so far upside down in +/- and was invisible at times. I love him but dang son.

Then there's Robertson. Uh, maybe it's ok if he gets traded. HE'S GREAT! YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE HIM
thanks again for doing business with Jim Nill.

Man, I don't know. It got weird at the end and it was really uncool. Pete had to go. Not sure who is going to get the gig, but I don't think it's going to be Steve Spott.

  5. lol do they not realize that jim montgomery started his NHL coaching in Dallas and had a horrible breakup midseason? I dont think that trains coming back to the station

  6. Oh no, the Stars missed out on all the old, recycled coaches and might have to go looking for fresh, new talent? Whatever will they do? Their GM doesn't get paid enough money to stick his neck out like that!

  7. If Jim Nill truly wants to go the young coach route he should seriously consider David Carle. The guy's not even 36 yet, already has 2 NCAA champ titles* and 2 World Junior Championship gold medals under his headcoaching belt.
(*actually 3 if you also count his time as an assistant to no other than Jim Montgomery.)

  8. Watch out for the Stars to promote Neil Graham from the Texas Stars. He's a good coach with high familiarity of the current roster.

  9. Tired of these backwards fascist red states having all the hockey success because they don't collect taxes.

Like congratulations, you make millions of dollars in a state that has 0 infrastructure or human rights

  10. You can criticize the Stars players all u want, but goodness, u can’t just throw your star goalie under the bus to the media and expect to keep your job

  11. Whoever thought of re-uniting McD and Knobloch was genius, it might have been McD himself. I forget the name of his good friend and fellow Otter at the draft, might be interesting how he's doing.

  12. Neil Graham, he's been the AHL affiliate HC for a while and has lead them to great success and developed young players very well. He should be the next HC for Dallas imo

  13. Dumping Dumba is easy. Mavrik Borque is an RFA. Trade him for a 2nd with the condition Dumba goes too. Penguins would take him.

  14. I'm glad Jessie mentioned picking someone outside of the usual pool of coaches. I remember them talking about this when discussing Martin St Louis before the playoffs. I'm sure there are plenty of good coaches that are working in lower leagues you would be great with Dallas
