if you had the opportunity to trade matthews for nathan mackinnon would you do it? i would. i'd even eat some of his salary. matthews would love a chance to play in the states and mac would be a better fit for playoff hockey.

It's funny, maybe you have to be an outsider to see it, but I said this in 2021. It was painfully obvious to me and when they folded to my Habs, it was real clear to me that they would never lead the leafs to a cup.
To change a guys attitude like this, there needs to be a guy in the locker room who has the respect of Matthews: won cups, with the right attitude to take over and with games at any cost, and is willing to put work in to change Matthew's mindset. Only way thatll see a change in Matthews is if this happens
