Yaay, an episode with just yhe 2 dudes.
I'm 100+ % on board with DB on the bridge contract bit.
If Tyson Foerster becomes an 80-point player, I will be HAPPY to see him get paid.
What I don't wanna see is any more goddamn ALBATROSS contracts where the FO signs an unproven player to a massive contract only for them to disappoint and be a lead anchor on the cap (or worse, the roster) for years.
If TF turns out to be great, then hell yeah! But he hasn't proven it and he shouldn't be paid the BIG BUCKS until he does!
I’d offer sheet Mavrik Bourque and give up a 2nd. We already have so many 1sts and 2nds this year. Give Bourque a 1 year deal and try to steal him from Dallas.

No way Michkov gets a bridge deal … Signing Foerster to a 7X7 now is absolutely diabolical.. he’ll be lucky if he’s ever a $7M player.
After the ducks won the cup everyone was trying to build their team huge like them. Didn’t work out because there was only 1 Chris pronger and 1 Scott neidermayer. Tkachuks and Barkovs don’t grow on trees.
Did not get the back to back finals rematch stat. I thought the graphic said oilers flyers was back to back. Bruins Oilers ?
Top 2 pick – what about Barkov and Reinhart – they were both #2 picks. Plus they have Bennett, who was a #4. Make an argument for a team who has won the Cup without someone drafted in the top 4 who had a major impact. The last team to do it was 2011 Boston. To argue that the team will win a Cup without a top 4 pick playing a major role is going against every statistic. We know the Flyers won't tank – and that is going to prevent them from being a legitimate Cup contender. You might as well say we know the team won't win, but we don't care – we just want them to be better than last year. That is the story of the Flyers since the Cap era and look where that has gotten us. To me it looks like we can mirror the Wild who have Kaprisov (while we have Michkov) and a bunch of meh.

Do people realize guys who open their careers with ahl rookie all star, back to back 20g years, great play driving, capable matchup player, Canadian world championship invite are good ?
The way Charlie explained the DB thought process was great. But I disagree with his level of concern with the ideology. There is no guarantee Tyson makes the jump. If you assumed every player makes the jump you end up with 6 overpaid players like Farabee or worse. I’ll be happy to see Tyson make the jump & show us the potential is real & get paid.
Saving money to acquire a bonafide star in a trade that includes Tyson going the other way…
