your an idiot, it wasn't that bad. He was turned and watching the puck. As far as being late, that is borderline but still not too late. He kept his elbow down. I can see a 2-3 game suspension, but 10 is just stupid.
Honestly though, Perry wasn't cocky about it. He apologized and explained that he was already committed to the hit and tried to let up. He wasn't smiling at all when he was penalized. He just accepted that what he did was wrong, without arguing the call or anything. Bad hit but you have to have some respect for Perry.
Perry didn't relish the hit, he kept his elbow in but the principal contact was the head and it is a major penalty and there will be a suspension. Perry knew Zucker was hurt and didn't pffffft the call or shake his head, it's pretty clean cut what went on. I'd say 1 game, maybe 2. Typical polarized commentors calling either clean hit or 10 games make me chuckle, I have to wonder if your eyes actually send the messages to your brain.
I love how the Minnesota fans have absolutely no reaction to this hit.

Not a good hit. Could have hot the shoulders rather than the head. I don't think he tried to do that but he was careless and it cost him. Late and dirty. 4 gms is bit much though. And yes, I'm a Wild fan.

what really gets me mad is that the league and shanny gives Perry 4 games for this and other players who have done this or worse get nothing or 1 game.

okay Anaheim fan or not, yes the league is inconsistent, Shanahan is a mutt, but come on Perry, maybe compared to the 1 gamers they throw at stuff just as bad makes this seem like crap, but this was just plain stupid. With his hit on Giroux, its not like this is his first time pulling some cheap crap, so in the end he deserves it. In the shortened season this hurts a lot more which sucks, but I hope they start handing out more 4 and 5 gamers for stuff like this (Leafs fan btw)

Should've been 7 games, but since the league treats star players better, he got the benefit of the doubt with 4 games. Had it been a third or fourth liner, you would've seen them get more than 5 games.

I agree worst announcers ever, how can you say that this is shoulder coctact. This is a hit to the head, Perry is a hard player and playes every shift like its his last but this is a bad headshot.

I know all about the rules. The NHL is talking out of both sides of it's mouth. They want to see stuff like this to give fans excitement. They could do it anytime but they would loose too many fans because of "safe" play

For the morons calling Zucker a pussy and to "keep your head up" shut your traps. The puck was clearly gone and he was looking for a possible return pass. No penalty on Ballard. Good hit according to numerous commentators including Don Cherry.
So here is the question, I am not sure I know the answer. When the Ducks respond to Ballard hit on next shift on 12/5, why is it OK to cheer if Thompson renders Ballard unconscious with his fists, but it's bush league for fans to cheer for Perry knee strain.
It agree it's not cool to cheer for injuries of opposing pkayers, but then why is it ok to cheer for a guy getting killed in a fight …. inconsistent.
